If people cannot use one or both of their legs, get them using their arms - all kinds of arm exercises people who sit can do IF they can move their arms.

If people can move both legs and arms, there is even more they can do.

If people can use their legs but not their arms, then get them to do things with their legs.

I'm visual and I'd put people into 3 groups:
1. Those that can use both legs and arms
2. Those that can use arms only
3. Those that can use legs only.

Then, for each team, get the appropriate exercise list and maybe have 2 others who can help you. Each of you lead one of the groups through their exercises.

When we did the president's fitness challenge, some of our group carried firewood (using wheelchairs) and counted that as a fitness activity. Any games you know of involving moving things from point a to point b can be adapted for wheelchair users. Yoga is good. SP just did some strength training routines adapted for seated folks recently... but this is a party... so the idea is to keep people active? or do you want actual exercise?

Hello everyone! I run a weightloss group for individuals who have brain injuries on Monday afternoons. We are having a Christmas party and I need ideas of active things to do. There are some restrictions (which is why I need ideas...) I have 2 consumers in wheelchairs and 1 who has leg issues and 1 who can't walk very far. But...even with those things I know you can come up with something for me! Thanks in advance!

Then give to the world the best you have, and the best will come back to you! Madeline Bridges
