There are a LOT of exercises that I am unable to do for the many medical conditions I have. What I do is either change the exercise to suit my limitations or I look for other exercises that I can do, such as exercises from sitting positions, walking, but not at a fast pace, while I'm sitting, I have light weights I lift, or handgrips to squeeze.
There are many things a person can do to fit the RIGHT exercise for you into your day/program. Not every exercise is for every person. So pick and choose and if you like an exercise but are unable to do it as shown, see if you can't arrange it in a way that you can. But keep in mind that your limitations are there to keep you safe.

I would try to remember what the challenge is for the day and try to incorporate it when situations arise, but would definitely not worry about it if I couldn't keep up or did not find a suitable situation.. I would say: Just keep an eye on it next time..

The challenges here are guidelines and ideas for you. They are not MUST DO's. If you can't meet one or make one, DON'T STRESS ABOUT IT. :) They are posted to give you ideas on how you can get through each day a different way. There is no pass or fail on them. It's just ideas Nancy is posting to give you something to work on for each day. There is no rule that says you have to do and pass each one.
Life is going to happen with little surprises etc. So don't stress yourself about meeting or not meeting the challenge.

I should've clarified: I meant the individual daily challenges in this group, not SP challenge as a whole. :) Plus I don't think any of the challenges in this particular group have any negative health implications.

Mar, I agree with you about the time it takes for SP, but that hasn't been a problem for me thus far. I was talking more about this group's specific challenges.

CL, you're so right about modifications. One of the first things I really learned from yoga was that. :) For this month's round of challenges, there are just some things (only one so far, but I think it's likely that there will be more) that I'm just unable to do, but if possible I'd like to get something out of it. That's the tricky part.

this challenge is so easy and not very time consuming just put it on the back burner and see if things work out for you. it really takes a lot of time to make sparkspeople a part of your life and you just may not be ready at this time. good luck to you

I think, as long as you are being honest with yourself about what is or is not possible or beneficial to you at that time, that you decide what WOULD fit, or how you can modify it for you, and do THAT. I am a big fan of modifications because practically anything modified is better than nothing! That being said, depending on the challenge, I might hold on to it in the back of my head or put it on my sparkpage with the intention of conquering it at another time, when I can make it possible. Of course it all depends on the nature of the challenge, the possible health concerns, etc. If you'd like to explain a little more you might get better advice than what I am offering! I'm not talking about an "Oh, I don't feel like making time for this" situation, but rather, what do you do when the parameters of the challenge aren't possible within the realm of possibility in your life? How can you make adjustments to get the benefits of the challenge's lesson?
