I just bought the pocket guide for foods...I think it's called something like Good Carbs, Good Fats. It's handy to be able to have in your purse while shopping...so you can see a break down of what you can eat, what you should limit and what you should avoid. (And it was only like $9)
Other than that...I think with these pages you can hang in there pretty good without paying.
Good luck...this is my day 1 on SBD!!!

You can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

Actually I consider this team a better resource than the book which could be arranged better. I doubt that you can beat Kierae's and Pam's advice. I've worked as a diet counselor in the past and they do it as well as anyone I've ever seen. Besides I love free info. emoticon

All the info you need is on these team pages. I have books, but the 'Phase 1 in a Nutshell' lists were the most helpful for me. The books were too much for me to wade through and the listings simplified everything for me. Also, Phase 1.5 helped a lot. The clarity did it for me + being able to ask anytime there is a question in my mind. The answers and support are here for the asking.

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

Well, I would hardly say I don't know how to plan a meal. lol. And I certainly do cook. Everything from scratch FYI. But, if you are unfamiliar with SBD it can be helpful. Like I said, know that I have gotten the gist of the mealplans I can certainly cook and plan for myself. Probably even healthier than SBD since I don't use any processed or artificial sweeteners.

We have the updated food lists here on this team. 3fatchicks.com's SB team and us have same info but it is another source of support if you want it. I think the online SB paysite is fine if you don't know how to plan a meal or want preplanned meals and grocery lists. Not my thing since I do like to cook and usually only loosely plan meals for a couple days. Of course I have been doing SB since 1/2007 so a bit of a difference. emoticon

I have a membership to South Beach online. It was great to get me started. Meal plans and grocery shopping lists... it's all done for you. It just depends on how much you need someone to figure that out for you. I'm glad I joined but at the same time I think I'm almost ready to cancel. Once you get the gist of it, it's easy to figure it out yourself. Especially if you have the book.

Hi there everyone,
My hubby and I are going to be giving the South Beach Diet a try - we have the older book and were wondering if any of you knew if it was worth buying the newer version or if it is pretty much the same.

Also... have any of you tried South Beach online? It costs $20 per month billed quarterly. If you've tried it, have you found it to be worth the money?

Thanks for your feedback!
Dee

It is not enough to simply show up. You need to step up for results.... keep on stepping! Dee
