Oh, thanks for the compliment! I use everything Aussie. I head straight for the purple bottles! If you've seen the commercials, ROO YOUR DO! Bonus is that they are cheap!

Luckily, PCOS hasn't affected my hair too much. It's a little thinner than in high school, but I had extra to loose. I suppose my curse is extreme weight gain :( Boo, Hiss.

Please tell me how to hook up that mind-body connection; my mind is sharp, but my body is not!

Ok...first I have to ask you what kind of hair products you use, because your hair is gorgeous!

Menu sounds good (as I am a cheese lover, lol). I could try that when I hit "phase 2". As for now I can't have any fruit...and I love, love, love fruit!!

I've only lost 10 pounds, so I wouldn't call my method "proven" but here is my menu for today.

1 Slimfast Optima, 2 pieces of light string cheese and a banana for breakfast. For lunch, any Weight Watchers Smart Ones frozen entree that doesn't have rice or potatoes (today is pot roast) and a single serving of Green Giant Broccoli with cheese sauce.

About 3:30 I have 2 more sticks of string cheese (I know, lots of cheese, but it helps with the side effects of Metformin). Dinner is going to be at Applebees. I'll have the house sirloin, substitute the mashed potatoes and asparagus with double mixed veggies.

We eat dinner out every night, so I just make sure to stay away from the carbs and stick with protein and vegetables. It is totally possible to eat out and lose. You just have to resist the bread/crackers. Ask them not to even bring it, or do like I do. . .I put it on my husbands plate first thing.

If you eat out like I do, don't be afraid to ask for substitutions! If your entree comes with mashed potatoes, ask if you can have veggies or a salad instead, or even soup. Most restaurants will accomodate.

My guilty pleasure is ice cream. . . I love it and have to have it every day. Edy's Slow Churned No Sugar Added is what I eat. 1/2 cup every night.

I won't lie and say it's easy. Some days it feels impossible to stick with it. But I have more good days than bad, and eventually you stop thinking about food and start thinking about life!

And no food tastes as good as being thin will feel!

Please tell me how to hook up that mind-body connection; my mind is sharp, but my body is not!

Hi Cheryl :)

I'm following a "modified" form of the South Beach Diet that my dietician (at my endo's office) gave me.

Menus are hard...I am constantly searching the internet for menus, but I don't have much luck :( Breakfast the the most difficult for me, lunch second. Dinner I never seem to have a problem with.

This morning I had two pieces of fried "light" bologna for breakfast...that's it. I'm STARVING!! Now it's lunch time and I have no idea what to eat! I have some lunch meat (but it just doesn't taste right when it's not on bread, lol!).

Tonight for dinner we are having steak, summer squash, broccoli and sugar free jello :)

Here is what I have for the rest of the week for Dinner:

Beef stir-fry
oriental tea eggs
asparagus

porkchop
kale

chicken with some hooters hot wing on the side for a tiny bit of dipping
salad

"almost meatloaf" (see the recipe on spark recipes), it's almost breadless, so not too tasty, but if you put some sugar free ketchup on it you're good to go :) It's one of my experiments on the way to a healthy meatloaf, lol.
sliced tomatoes
cottage cheese
summer squash

hope that helps you some....post some of yours...especially breakfast and lunch ideas!!

Hi Everyone! My name is Cheryl and I'm new to this forum. I'm 25 and live near Seattle, WA. I've actually known that I've had PCOS for a little while now, but never took it seriously. Now that I'm getting older and have the idea of wanting a baby in the next few years in my head it absolutely freaks me out!! So here I am, joining forums and I've kind of become obsessive with researching about it. But I'm ready to get this under control.

Anyways, I just wanted to say hi. And I also wanted to see if anyone could post their daily/weekly menu. I've read all the threads and they're all very helpful, but I'd like to see how everyone sets up there food intake everyday. I guess I'm kind of lost and don't know where to start :)

emoticon Cheryl :)
