No worries :) I was just feeling slack for not having replied before.

Did they? I didn't notice. I was only off the air for a week! Still it would be good to have another leader again. I think it works better with 2.

Good to see you Belrosa. I only used the term inactive because they posted a notice about an inactive team leader. Hope things settle down for you soon emoticon

The recommended dose is 20mg per kilogram of bodyweight, but I've experimented with doses ranging from 1000 mg a day up to 6000 mg a day.

At the moment I'm taking 1500mg which is close to the recommended 20mg/kg.

I've found that it works best when I take it in divided doses, about 6 times a day (on waking, before meals, before exercise, before bed) as it's a water soluble nutrient and quickly excreted. I use the pure powder, so I can just tip the day's dose into my water bottle and have a sip every now and then.

Hello, sorry I'm back :) Not inactive, just got too many balls in the air at the moment and must have missed the update to this thread.

I've found DCI very helpful - I've always followed a 'healthy' diet (though it used to be fairly heavy on the fruit and non-animal protein sources like pulses & legumes etc which probably wasn't the best, in light of the insulin resistance component of PCOS), and always been quite an active person, however a decade or so ago I started to put on weight ... a few kilos a year and it just got worse. Nothing seemed to help until I took DCI, then I stopped putting on weight and now the scales are going down instead of up! My menstrual cycle also returned a month after I started taking DCI which was a huge relief as it had gone missing for nearly 4 years at that point. I have a lot more energy on DCI, though I still don't have the energy I used to when I was younger. My skin is better, softer and less acne (though I never had a great deal).

It's very interesting stuff. If anyone wants to read some of the scientific studies which have been published on DCI and PCOS, just send me a message with your email address and I'll forward them on to you.

Keep us updated with your results. It sounds like increased energy is one benefit of the dci.

I ordered it through Amazon. We'll see! I feel more energetic, although I can't take it with dinner or I have trouble sleeping.

I haven't taken it but I know Belrosa uses it/recommends it, however, it appears she is inactive. Did you find it at a health food store or buy it online?

I just started on d chiro yesterday, and I'm really hoping it will help! Have others had good results with it?

Excuse my ignorance but what is DCI? :-)

For me what worked was increasing my protein intake and reducing carbohydrates to less than 100 gm per day and taking d chiro inositol. I take other things as well, like Green Tea, Vitex, Gymnema, Cinnamon and Magnesium, but nothing was working until I started taking DCI, then it all seemed to come together. I also recommend a protein based breakfast and to walk for at least half an hour a day. Strangely I've found lower intensity exercise more effective for weight loss than strenuous exercise.

Good luck!

I am new to this page, but am really looking for the support to loose weight & diet from others with PCOS. I just had our 2nd child in Feb. and really, really want to get these extra pounds off. We would like to have one more, but I told myself, not until I loose a minimum of 20lbs! HELP! What worked for you?
