Hi! I just joined the group. I am in the same boat that you are in with feeling like whatever I eat, I seem to pack on the pounds. I have discovered that I have been eating more than I thought. When I actually learned what a true portion is, my weight has been coming off. It was a sad reality that when I realized a portion of chicken was only a deck of cards or three ounces and not an entire chicken breast. Nevertheless, eating less and having balanced and correct portions has helped me. Not glamourous but noteworthly. Also, I have learned that with my PCOS, although I am not diabetic or insulin resistant, I have to eat as though I am a diabetic. I have a sensistivity to processed sugar (even splenda, sweet-n-low, ect) I have cut it out of my diet completely. This means that I don't eat out very regularly and have to be very picky with my food. I have become "that" person at the resturant that every server just loves :) The only sweetner I do have is stevia (it is made from an herb) and evaporated cane juice which is organic sugar. I do limit those but I find that by not eating sugar, I don't crave it. Another aspect that I have cut out of my diet is anything with yeast in it. For years I have had issues with cronic yeast infections, nail fungus and fatigue. I stumbled upon the lady who practices NAET. What it is is accupressure that ellimates allergies from foods, nature, animals. A big part of NAET is changing your diet to help heal ones digestive tract. In the natural world of medicine, their belief is that immune system health is dictated whether or not one's digestive tract is working. Many health issues can come from yeast overgrowth. After I did my first yeast cleanse, I got a peroid for the first time on my own since I was 18...I'm now 30. Since I have been off yeast, I haven't been tired or fatigued. I have more focus at work and I'm more even emotionally. It may sound weird and out there but really it isn't. I have found much success by elimating those two catagories out of my diet. God really didn't design us to process food that is soooo processed. I understand that it is a drastic change and it took me time and experimentation with different foods to get to this point. I have eaten this way before and lost 40 pounds. I really didn't realize what I was elimating, I just followed a diet given to me. I really don't follow a particular "diet" persay but I do follow those rules and minimize my portions. A great rule of thumb...have as many veggies as you want! That is one thing you can over eat and still loose weight.

Also, for more information about the NAET treatments, please visit www.NAET.com to learn more and find a local practitioner. My lady is a christian so I know there isn't any weird stuff behind the procedure. You might want to check out a few to find one you like.

Welcome!
I don't think I'm following a PCOS type diet. I've just been diagnosed as diabetic and I've been following a diabetic diet for the last couple of weeks. It seems to be working okay. I'm not good with restricting things from my diet. Good luck with your goals!

Hey everyone. For some reason the last two days I have been eating way too much. Well "way too much" is actual 3 meals. But as I'm sure most with PCOS can attest, not normal for me. Anyway, this is my first weigh in. 260. My first goals is 210. Anyone following a PCOS type diet? Anyone want to buddy up on one?

Quite alright.. it was all because of my lack of effort and over eating.. i'm still down from where i Started and it's great! doesn't help that i'm a chocoholic and my body doesn't like sugar lol
i need to start banning myself from the candy isle!

I haven't weighed in since I can't exercise. I did today though. I'm up two pounds which I expected. The doctor told me the steroids would make me gain weight. Oh well, hopefully I'll be off them in a few days!

I decided to try to maintain my current weight during the Holidays and Start again the 1st. But I have resisted stuffing myself full of sweets most of these season.

I'm up 1/2 a pound this week. I am not supposed to do any strenuous exercise until I see the neurologist on the 26th. I've been trying to do some easier exercises and take it easy, but I think it will be hard to keep the weight off. Hopefully after Christmas I'll be able to go back to exercising normally.

hi Addy dont get frustrated, me too gained pounds.. let's think in the next week , u know? for sure ur eating wasn't good.. didnt eat lot of sweets or bread, rice, pasta?? dont blame exercise blame food:)

Thanks KHardman, but this week is not good news! I stayed on the low end of the calorie intake but didn't get as much cardio in. I gained 3 pounds this week! I am kinda frustrated! If I don't do cardio for 45 minutes to an hour everyday then I gain weight! I dislike PCOS!!!! lol sorry...I am done now.

I'm down two pounds from last week. It's the first time the scale has moved down in almost a month of being on Spark People. Istarted at 270 went to 274 back to 270, so I'm really happy with 268 this week!

sunday 1 october my weight is 141 lbs same like last week i didnt lose anything! actually i didnt go well in my diet last week bt i worked out alot thank God i didnt gain any pounds! emoticon

I actually weigh myself on Monday mornings... so here's mine for September 25:

276 pounds (which considering the weekend I just had... I'm surprised it was actually 2 pounds down from the beginning! thought I would have gained..)
