Much of the problem with PCOS is that women can't lose weight even when they do follow a healthy eating and exercising program (as I've done for over 10 years).

There are a lot of metabolic dyscrasias involved in PCOS and IR, it is actually very complex, even to someone with the background to understand it all. It's only reasonable to reduce your caloric intake so far, before you start jeopardising important things like vitamins and minerals. I think the ingredients in the smoothie have worked like a key to unlock the energy from the food I eat and maybe help my metabolism run a bit smoother. Fingers crossed anyway.

I don't think my diet does really need to change, it is already very healthy ... I never drink soda, eat fast food, add sugar to my tea/coffee, drink juice even. The majority of my diet consists of fresh vegetables with a small amount of fruit as a treat and meat, soy, beans and dairy for protein. I eat between 800 - 1500 calories a day, but usually more towards the lower end (I don't police it, that's why it's so variable) and the SparkPeople nutrition feedback is always telling me to eat more in general and more carbs specifically (which obviously is not good advice for women with PCOS).

I have a website with loads of PCOS info www.mypcos.info Please stop by!

Congratulations on bringing your life back to where you want it after such a hard time and good luck with keeping a healthy lifestyle as you return to work. It can be a real challenge, I know. Small containers of healthy food packed the night before and the solution for me :) So when you get busy at work, you can just open one and inhale the contents quickly and you always have something healthy there so you don't fall prety to fast food or unhealthy stuff.

I feel like I am cheating a bit calling this an achievement, but I feel I should add something anyway:
I've lost 5.5 kg in about 6 weeks since perfecting a recipe for a smoothie that contains all sorts of things that are good for women with PCOS and a nutrient which we can not metabolise by ourselves if we have PCOS and need to supplement. www.pcosinfo.com has published an article i wrote on it, if anyone is interested, and I will likely add some of the information to our team goals on SparkPeople as time goes by too.

The reason I feel it's cheating to call this an achievement is I didn't change my calorie intake or diet habits and actually did LESS exercise during the time I lost most of the weight, because the weather was very wet and I didn't go out to walk. So it was an achievement in that I lost the weight, but I didn't really do anything to earn it, other than all the research that went into discovering the right recipe.

Hi everybody,
I just want to share with you my new achievement... at last I'm able to resume my career and start doing a part time job after 3 years of staying home & being isolated... I struggled a lot to get back to work again after i faced my father's illness & death. & moving to a new country.
now I really want to reach my goal in weight loss and be pregnant!
I try to follow pcos lifestyle while working, however it's a lil hard to do but I can do it!

who else has any achievements want to share?

You can make it!
