Is lemon water better for you if it is boiled or is the boiling to purify the water?

yes, of course I can! Girlfriends, please take notes, it's quite easy!
When I make my nightly tea, usually Chamomile, or soothing peppermint, I add extra water to boil. While this is heating up, you can take that lemon, and you slice in half width-wise, then on one of the halfs, slice a thin piece and put into a clear, clean glass mug. once the water is boiling, or the teakettle is whistling, pour your cup of relaxing tea, and another for the morning. Yes, then add the slice of lemon you had cut. Put the rest of the lemon in a zip-lock baggie for tomorrow night's tea. Cover the lemon hot water, do not use plastic wrap. a saucer will do just fine. Leave it on your counter overnight, in the morning, you can drink it up. That's it!
Enjoy!

I know you are trying to limit carbs, but maybe more fresh fruits and veggies will help? They fill me up and they are good carbs. Getting the water in helps. Also, have you tried turkey bacon, I love it! Belly dancing sounds like fun. :)

I wouldn't stress about the 5. Today, tomorrow, early, late, it will always be different. You are not that number!!! Don't allow a number to define who you are. Just be healthy and it will all happen in good time. Don't give up, you're on the right track, for sure!

Could you share how much water/lemon you use in your lemon water mixture? I bought lemons and I am ready to make some tonight. :) emoticon

Don't forget, 5 lbs is within the margin of error for bodies going up and down, depending on what state your body was in when you hit the scale, you could just be holding steady. I find that even when I stay within calories, when I eat fatty/sugary foods, my body retains junk and the scale goes up. Once I switch back to whole foods, whole grains, and lots of fruits/vegetables, it drops back, slowly, always slowly!

I would also do more stuff to get your metabolism going exercise-wise. Activity can do amazing things, even slight activity. I always get up in the morning and try to walk or do simple aerobics for 15-20 minutes first thing, and I feel like that helps me. But even taking a few more walks could get those calories burning!

I looked at your food log and I don't see anything that stands out as "weight gain". Could it be something hormonal (other than the obvious PCOS)like TOM? Maybe your body has hit a "wall" and will recover soon as long as you keep doing the right thing. Maybe a change in diet will trigger your body to react differently. Are your calories too few? If weight gains continue, I would check with your doctor. I know it is discoraging but keep working hard, don't give up.

Awww, I know what you are going through. It does suck to have PCOS. But you know what? You can do it! Take a little bit of time for yourself. Do you know any yoga? If you try going shopping on Amazon. Look up this really great DVD "Just My Size: Yoga". Music and model/teacher on is quite mellow and relaxing. Have you been feeling pressured/stressed/upset lately? Might need to try relaxation techniques as well as the exercises. PSOC girlfriends all have a completely different make-up, and have to follow a unique path to a healthy lifestyle.
I don't "diet". When I hear that word, it alone stresses me out. I have a "healthy lifestyle".
I eat and drink from glassware. I do use papercups for my morning coffee from my local coffee shop. I remove the plastic cover and transfer to a mug.
For two weeks, I had nothing to to with heating food up in plastic, or using anything plastic where it touches food and mouth. Like I am allergic to it.
Tell you what, I think it's working.
Also, I boil water the night before bedtime, add a slice of lemon to my glass mug of hot water, and cover it with a saucer. In the morning, I drink the water to detoxify.
So far, I am loosing some of my body weight. I also notice not feeling sluggish.
We not only have a horomone imbalance, but a chemical imbalance. Somehow it's beginning to work for me!
Good luck!

I weighed myself last Saturday and I had gained 5 pounds. This is exactly what screws me up when I try to diet. I feel like I'm doomed. I call on all of my PCOS sisters to take a look at my food journals and fitness journals. Aside from a few setbacks (nothing over my allotted daily calorie intake) I have followed my no carb diet to the letter since 1/22. (Although I just started Spark 2/18, my personal journal looks the same as my Spark journal the last 2 weeks) On average I believe my caloric intake is 1360 per day. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I told my husband if I am going to gain 5 pounds in one week I want to do so cramming doughnuts down my face not freakin starving myself and trying so hard for nothing! Thanks for litsening...
