18 holes carts on path at our hardest, most hilly golf course. I was a little gimpy toward the end, but was pleased that my stamina and strength has improved enough for these conditions. Looking forward to the day it is actually easy.

Great that your DH can tell a difference in the way he feels and knowing it will continue to improve.

DH is doing great working with his dietitian. She had him track his eating for two weeks before changing anything. Smart. That way she knows how to structure something that's lower in calories, but still gets the big guy all the nutrients and calories he needs. He lost 7.5 pounds his first week on the plan!

Some beautiful benefits besides the weight loss:
1) says he actually feels better without all the junk food and sweets
2) says his depression has lifted (Thank you, Jesus.)
3) has motivated me to be more deliberate with my food choices...I don't want to be a stumbling block or bring temptation home.

May sound like mostly his scale and NSV, but it's been awesome for me, too.

I was really, and I mean REALLY wanting a decadent dessert last night. So glad I had nothing prepared on hand and didn't want to make anything. Ended up eating cottage cheese, which I love, with a Cutie. Took care of the sweet craving.

I do love all the quick reads and short videos available on SP. Do you mean 10-minute exercise videos? That would be an interesting way to get in the 10-minute challenge.

Have you tried any of the 10 minute videos here on SP? There are several to choose from.
RE: Water . I like drinking mine through a straw and when I take the morning multivitamin I drink 16 oz then. Drinking a lot of decaf tea also helps me go over on water most days. I know it is so good for our skin and with my wrinkles I need it. lol

Struggling a little bit with mindless snacking, but did throw away 2/3 of a cookie. I had one and it was so fresh and yummy that i dove into the second without pausing until I pulled up short and trashed it.

We had a wedding shower at work for one of our co-workers yesterday and there was that wonderful sugary punch with the ice cream in it and cupcakes with a glorious amount of icing. This is definitely an NSV for me and I can't take credit for it, but doing this intuitive eating I have actually turned down or stopped eating sugary refined carbs more and more. They are just not as appealing as they used to be. I did have about half of the small cup of punch, ate some of the icing off of the cupcake and had a couple of bites of the cupcake itself, but I couldn't even force myself to do more than that, so they ended up in the trash. Woohoo!

Having a few NSVs. I'm type 2 diabetic. Due to my healthy eating, my blood sugar lately has been exceptional. Played golf yesterday with carts on path because of the wet conditions. Feeling lighter and more energetic with stretching and improved diet. I easily made it through 18 without running out of energy like I normally do.

Wow! Look at you go with the NSVs! I didn't realize EWGA had changed names. I would love it if there was an active chapter in my area. I found one, but it is defunct. My friend in Dallas is in a group and they have so much fun. They travel together for tournaments and have qualified the last couple of years to play in some kind of cup event.

Congrats on the achievement.

I am a member of LPGA- Women who Play .....formerly EWGA....and today will have a new name change that includes amateur in the title. Yesterday I competed in the Chapter Championship in stroke play. I won 1st Low Gross.......I was the only one in the flight emoticon . However the NSV was that I had diarrhea all the day before and that morning. Some sort of virus. I pumped some Imodium in me and prayed that I did not have an accident considering bathrooms are so plentiful on the course. Well I stopped the diarrhea but had severe abdominal cramps from hole 5 -15. All I had to do was finish....didn't have to be pretty......just finish. My goal had been to beat at least 2 people in the third flight. Yes i finished....it was not pretty....I had a 12 on one hole because I forgot about the drop zone and I was 2 strokes over the highest 3rd flight. Just goes to show.....if you want it, you can push through just about anything!

All things are possible...maybe not easy...but possible and worthwhile!!! I believe in ME!

So, NSV for me lately is eating only when I'm hungry, eating what I truly want and stopping the moment I begin to get full. I think the heat is helping. Maybe it's my advancing years. LOL At any rate, I'm enjoying the ease at which this is happening. Not really trying to restrict my eating. Just going with the flow. I'm also craving healthier, lighter options. It may all go away tomorrow, but I think the longer my appetite and eating is like this, the more ingrained it will be become. The really cool thing is, I'm not thinking about it or planning to eat light and healthy. Like, "I'm only going to eat half this" or "I want a piece of fruit" or "those grilled vegetables sound really yummy." It's just automatic. WHO IS THIS PERSON!!! And can she stay, please?

Wow. Went to post a NSV here and noticed there hadn't been anything since my post below in November 2017. Guess I should update. I did end up having a renal angiogram and what they thought was renal artery stenosis on the MRI, was nothing when they got in. Shadow on the film or something. That was very good news indeed.

Still doing The David Spine PT, but in maintenance mode now. Not all my days are pain-free, but it's getting better and the awful sciatic pain has finally disappeared for now.

So, it wasn't the worse news ever - no sign of recurring cancer in the remaining kidney, but evidence of "renal artery stenosis." See a new cardiologist Tuesday. Current thinking is that an angioplasty and stent will be required, like in your heart, but on my kidney artery. Starting a new kind of PT (The David Spine) and on pain meds. MRI found scoliosis and spinal stenosis, along with a few other S's. At least I know why I was hurting.

And so what can you do about it? I am guessing just let it heal with time but am hoping I am wrong!

My HUGE NSV came on Saturday. I stopped by my fav store - Christopher and Banks - and I am happy to say I can now just go to C&B and not CB (big girl). BUT that is not my NSV -- my NSV is sizes. I purchased size 14 pants and large tops! So very, very excited.

Finally broke down and went to have a chest x-ray. The breathing seems to be coming from an inflamed sterum caused by the airbag when the accident occurred.

Great job using the bike. Great for strengthening thigh muscles. I do this to aid a bad knee. emoticon

Easing back into exercise. Battling some heart / BP issues and med adjustments, but three days in a row 10 minutes on the recumbent bike. I'm so excited!

My NSV for November is that I hit 1000 minutes of exercise - which is a total shock as the dark has really slowed me down.

My NSV - Five founds of golf in four days and I had energy to last. Aerobic exercise (20 minutes daily on indoor bike) and core work recommended by my physical therapist has made an amazing difference. Motivation to keep going! :)

My NSV was to prepare healthy Superbowl snackage. Pizza crust made from cauliflower (and it was very good!) topped with lots of veggies. Stuffed jalopeno peppers --- every appetizer was fruit or vegetable based. :)

So today's NSV was finally getting all of my Christmas decorations down - not sure why it took so long. Then put out Easter and St Patrick's decorations. Not quite down getting out the new stuff but definitely looks better.

My NSV is that when in Arizona last week, I ran an 8k with my nephew who is 9. It was so much fun for both of us and now he is looking for the next event. One of the concerns I have for him is that I want him to be healthy and active so this was my little way. emoticon

Thursday, March 22, 2012 - My NSV victory yesterday was that I made it Curves, had a good workout and stretched when done. I felt great! It was hard because I've been a real exercise slacker since November! I had so much more energy and an improved mood after exercising that I chided myself for ever getting out of the habit. I've had virtually zero exercise since before Thanksgiving, so this was a real victory for me.

Non scale victory...glad we can all relate! I had waited 2 weeks to weigh myself and expected a 3 pound loss because I had created about a 1.5 deficit over the last two weeks, but it turns out that I only lost one. This was after I had exercised 30 hours the second week! My husband and I had played 6 rounds of golf, 2 runs, daily dog walks, yoga and walked a golf tournament 3 days! Maybe I will see more loss this week.

Anyway...

my non scale victories have been consistently eating clean, exercising daily (even on travel days) and noticing my clothes are just a smidge looser:)

My NSV today is that I have been telling myself for quite some time that I wanted to get back into Pilates - has been probably 9 years and I wanted to do more strength training. So thanks to the magic of Groupon and Living Social I started both in the past week. Doing Kettlebell classes and Pilates classes as well. So much fun!

My NSC is that I walked 18 holes in 95 degree heat - am exhausted but I got a birdie! For me that is rare and was fabulous fun. Also played better on the back nine which is great because that goes to my building endurance.

It is always so rewarding to achieve these "small victories." Way to go! I went for a long walk today, and ready to golf tomorrow and continue to bring that index down. My goal was to take 7 as my max - and I am gaining on it. Now if I could stay out of the sand traps...

Rode my bike to and from work - not really a NSV but the NSV was that I have this hill on the way home that I am working to ride all the way up (went through this last year as well). I have the ability to take it in pieces or all at once and I have decided to work this bit by bit. Today I made it all the way home without stopping and walking! Am working on the bit by bit piece but still no stopping.

I love the seasons. I think for the first time in a very, very long time I am enjoying putting on the next seasons clothes. They fit, well that isn't exactly true, they are a little BIG!!! Not falling off big but they definitely are baggy. So excited and am going to have to start budgeting for Fall because it looks like new clothes will be necessary! emoticon

Today one of the guys hanging out in the proshop asked if I had been working out all winter. He said whatever your doing is sure working. I was so surprized. It is only a few pounds but I am more fit and well I guess it shows.
Now I have more energy for sticking with the program. Positive reinforcement is a powerful incentive.

Clothes glorious clothes!! I too am having great experiences with clothes - which can I say sounds funny! I love the change of seasons and pulling out the old clothes. Now I can say in the past I haven't loved the seeing what still fits part but now I am loving that part. I have saved several things I should have let go of but now it is totally worth it as they fit! I haven't reached the baggy stage but how fun!

My pants are too big. This is a big moment they are two years old and they never fit so I did not wear them. This morning I needed long dark pants and well I decided to give them a try. They are almost baggie. But I am wearing them with pride. Yeah.

Off to play golf. Sandy

I can now do 20 minutes on the tred mill at 3.5 mph and an inclide of 5-7 without being winded. This is a first for me. I also do 20 minutes on the machines with weights and resistance after I do the tred mill or bike. I am beginning to feel the difference.

Great goal on the 7 - no snowmen!!! I have a course goal to break 80 on my short course (par 62) that I play all the time.

My NSV is sleep - dang I have issues with this but the alarm actually woke me this am - slept 6.5 hours! Shooting for consistently getting 7 so getting closer.

NSV - still loving it...makes you look for little ways to keep on track, without such a direct cause/effect relationship to the scale. It was a beautiful day here (St Louis) and I weeded, and gardened for hours...soaking in spring, and new life. Thanks for posting it! emoticon

Today's NSV is that I came home from work and had a very short period of time before heading to a meeting so did a quick run - best part ran for 23 minutes straight without stopping and could have gone a little longer but was running SO fast ran out of trail! Very exciting.
