Oh guys I am so happy to be able to contribute in some way to this Team, you are all so great at giving support and encouragement.

Hope some of you may try these things when you are in a "problem place".

In my life I have hit a lot of problem places - rofl - don't we all! And these things have been life savers to me.

I bless the guy who set me on the right track to clear headed thinking and problem solving, rather than problem wallowing which is what I used to do in my early years.

Write down all those things that are on your mind, going round and round in circles inside your head.

Every single one and then you can see them properly in black and white, and in perspective.

Next in two separate columns list the things you can do something about and the things you can not..

With the things you can do something about, write down the pros and cons for each method you think of for dealing with them.

Next look at the short term benefits for now, and also at the benefits in say 2 years time and again look at the long term benefits of each course of action 5 years from now and then choose the one that seems the best to you. Instant gratification frequently produces long term minuses whereas by looking at the long term picture we get a much better idea of what we really want.

With the things that are beyond your control, hand them over to something or someone outside of yourself who is Greater than you. The Universe, God, Goddess, a Higher Power and then leave them there. Each time you start worrying about them again, just remind yourself that there is nothing you can do and allow yourself to relax in the knowledge that something/someone else has your very best interest at heart, whatever that may turn out to be.

Thinking about them is not going to provide a solution if they are beyond your control.

Having handed over the things over which you have no control write another list of the ways in which you can change yourself or your attitude to accept these things exactly as they are.

Some problems, such as death or separation from a loved one, disablement, any number of life circumstances can not be fixed by oneself. But we can always change our attitude or our way of looking at life to a new perspective. A time for grieving and adjusting is essential. We need to make room for this to happen. It does not happen overnight. So writing down our thoughts during the grieving process is a wonderful release of emotion.

It takes the worry out of your head and gets it down where you can see what the problem really is and then do something about resolving It., or accepting it.

Once you start to use this technique the problems no longer build up till they seem insurmountable because you are dealing with them as they arise.

I was given this good advice many years ago and I have used it ever since. It has never failed me, and my life has been no bed of roses. So I am speaking from experience. These things do work.

At first it may seem difficult or like a lot of hard work, but I can promise you it is well worth the effort, and it does get much easier and quicker after you have done it a few times. It becomes a new way of living a happier and much less stressful way of life.
