Day 770 - weanied out after 10 min this a.m.. I got my cane out to take with me this afternoon.
Yes, Minnie - I was really pleased with the results of my rheumatoid arthritis meds. Felt kind of like a normal person. But, I screwed up my insurance trying to switch at the top of the year, so I took 1/2 doese for a while and have now run out - UNTIL new week. I am so pumped. My new insurance is way less expensive and costs 1/3 as much. So, all I have to do is make it through the weekend, and then the week or two it will take to get the neds in and start feeling the effects of the meds again. One is a biologic, and has to be shipped overnight. Since the insurance is good beginning on a Sun, it will be next Tues before I can have it in hand. I didn't really believe this stuff was doing much - till I had to do without. I've learned. SW 255 2/01/06

Day 768 - I feel fine about claiming this day, because I have done all I am able to do, and probably walked 3-4 miles during the course of the day, shopping and so on. My knees hurt really badly. So, I guess this arthritis flare is likely to continue to get worse till I get back on my meds, which will be a little over a week from now. sigh.

Day 769 - got myt morning walk in to claim the day. Finished yesterday with 30 min walking and 20 min swimming. Working back. I know that to lose weight I'm going to have to track food, tho.

Day 766 - my morning walk was 15 min, so I'm stylin' - it is 40+ degrees and the sun is shining. Snow piles are disappearing fast!
swam - well, walked in the water - for 35 min last night. My right knee is threatening to give out on me, so I didn't do much kicking. SW 255 2/01/06

Day 764 - just barely claimed. I wound up doing an hour of swimming and treading water at the pool last night, and am sore today. But the thing that is keeping me from the pool tonight is that my right knee is threatening to go out on me, and I've been on crutches for just that thing before - I don't want to go there again. I did a walk this afternoon, straight up the hill to start with. It was a couple of minutes short, so I've been doing gentle stretches this evening.

I didn't put a number on it, but yesterday was Day 762 of this streak, so today is Day 763. I can't really claim it yet, because I've only done 5 min. on the stationary bike - but I learned a couple of things today.
I go downstairs as little as possible because my knees are bad and only have so many more steps in them, but the clothes drier is down there, and the DH has made a point of not touching MY laundry except to fry it on hot, then wad it up and leave it downstairs while piling his own clothes (carefully laid out to avoid wrinkling) on top. And he likes to keep the washing machine (upstairs) full so that I am the one to shuffle, dry, fold and put away everything of his and ours down to the last dirty dishrag BEFORE I can sneak in a load of my own. Anyway, I DO go downstairs to the dryer. BUT, I sometimes won't go back down to unload in the same day because my knees advise me not to. In that case I "Fluff" my perma-press clothes to relax the wrinkles and spend a few minutes on the stationary bike. I used to find that really boring, riding a stationary bike with a view of my concrete basement wall. Today, I threw in a couple of changes. It is possible to really work your arms on a stationary bike by pushing and pulling and letting your legs offer resistance. Plus, you get a nice breeze in your face when you go backwards. - OK, that was probably more than you wanted to know, but I got that off my chest. Happy Weekend, everybody! Day 756 - walking around the neighborhood with home made treats like sticky buns and dessert breads as thank you's for neighbor's help in the deep snow. Everyone but us seemed to have a brand new snow blower!

![]() I actually walked for 15 min this a.m. - no slush at 0 degrees. Just sanded snow, with ice underneath in spots. Someone used a snowblower to create a lane about 24" wide, with snowbanks of 2 feet on each side. Every lane had an exit, too! I didn't have to turn around and go back once. I did follow the track up into the grass then off the curb into the street once though, LOL. Went to the pool last night because another snow is due today, I think. sigh. SW 255 2/01/06

Day 753 - well, I DID shovel snow for something over 10 min. this a.m., but we have a wonderful neighbor with a snow-blower who did most of the job. Of course, as soon as he did, the plow came by and built a wall of snow at the base of the driveway. We made it to work about 10a. I took a walk here and slipped again, but did not go down. It is about 6 degrees out there this afternoon. Funny, it doesn't feel all that cold. Of course I have 3 layers all over!

Day 752 - Snowmageddon! I fell on my morning walk, too, but was not hurt. I think my cell phone is going to be OK, too. We closed the office early, and while I will NOT make it to the health club, I will have many many opportunities to shovel snow for additional exercise. I have my 10 in - actually, it took 17 min to do my 10 min walk today.

Good evening all,
The week started out with a bang. I fell last Monday and hit my head on brick steps. I didn't have a car to go to the ER to get checked out. So called the doctor's office and was told that they couldn't see me til today. I went in today and have to go Wednesday to the hospital for a cat scan. She wants to rule out any brain damage. I missed being on Sparkpeople because the internet and WiFi have not been cooperating with our family.
