Thanks for sharing, REALGIRL2! And that is great advice. I don't know how many times I used to go along with other peoples bad eating habits because I didn't want to inconvenience them with my problems. Lots of time spent in pain!

My # 1 lesson was to LISTEN to my body. When I found out I had colitis and learned what the symptoms are, I was shocked at how long I had actually been experiencing them. I just shrugged it off as bad eating habits, too much drinking, not enough exercise. That sort of thing. But now that I know, I recognize problems before they become too big to manage. This has worked for me so far since my first trip to the ER so I try to listen really well now!

what is the number 1 piece of advice or lesson you've learned and held onto while living with Crohns or UC??

we are all so different and diseases like these affect us all in such a wide variety of ways --- so what's it for you, what is the #1 thing you'd want to share??

ME?? pretty simple... i don't hide who i am or what i live with (ya know, i dont announce it to the world on a big sandwich board BUT it isnt a secret i am constantly trying to hide either! :)) AND i plan for the worst and pray for the best each day.
