Been a good week so far. Started my seasonal job and am liking it a lot so far. On my feet almost the whole time and that is taking some getting used to again!

TAMMAE--I think I will make roasted Brussels Sprouts with garlic. Seen some other recipes on Pinterest though that use cranberries. I was also given a pumpkin cookie mix I may make to get it out of the house LOL! If I make to share I won't eat as much.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! emoticon

Hello friends... stopping by to see how everyone is doing. emoticon
It is a busy time of the year... my fasting is doing well right now so I am thankful for that.
Glad to see you are doing well too, Adrienne! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Victory dance... I've stayed out of the leftover Halloween chocolate! Seriously, that is a big big victory.... especially when I see other people eating it in front of me!

It is a very busy week with work... lots of hours and exercise involved this time of year. I like that I often get to move and stretch, climb and walk during work. Also makes the day go by fast.
Leaving on Thursday morning (5 a.m.) for Thanksgiving at the farm. My daughter is there today helping mom prepare the holiday food this year. That is the best gift she can give me... a break and relief. My son is going a day early to help too. Boy, I am thankful for my young adult kids.

Valma... what did you decide to take to Thanksgiving? I'm bringing sugar cookies with the holiday theme in icing. Not a healthy dish at all!!!

Congrats ADRIENNE! I need to step up now! LOL!

I had a breast biopsy last week which turned out to be benign---Thank you God! I went through surgery, chemo and radiation 10 years ago on the right side and did not want to do that again!

The kitten is doing great after her spay surgery and I start a part-time seasonal job this coming Monday. I have made a list of lunches to take. Just need to plan what I'll take to Thanksgiving Dinner now. And how to work in my fasting.

I've had a woosh week and hit a new low weight for 2016 on Wednesday and then was lower still today, I'm 144.9kg so have now lost 9.1kg, I'm so happy I'm finally making myself commit to the 3 fasts and getting great results.

I have one child Poppy born 27.11.2009

Planning out my lunches for next week. I start a part-time seasonal job on Monday.

Been a busy week. Besides having a breast biopsy, we had a 6 or 7 month old kitten show up. Sure didn't need that! We have 7 already! anyways--she has no microchip and probably is not spayed but we are getting that done tomorrow. Listed her on Pet FBI but so far her owner has not shown up. IF she has one! David says we cannot afford to keep her and I agree so looks like we will be adopting her out as soon as we can. My niece says it's my spiritual calling!

Voting with my mother was so great! Keep in mind she can't see very well... so I assisted her in the process. I brought her the local newspaper so she could view everything before going. Mom registered to vote over 57 years ago... and told me she was afraid to use the voting computers. Her fears were over when I showed her it was a 'color in the dot' ballot. emoticon I read off the names and pointed to the one she chose. The funny part... the next day she was glued to the news and won every person she voted for and all but one of the Amendments. This cracked me up! Her "score" was better than mine!

Me too! Adrienne!! My husband and I use to go out separate doors of the house and cancel each others vote- LOL!! But NOW he is passionate about voting with me not against me! ;o)

How did the voting go Tammae? MO was a big win for Trump. Here in MN it was 1972 that we last voted Republican. This year it was sooooo close! :o)

Tammae that's awesome that your mum will vote. I love voting, I have quite a strong political opinion, so strong I swayed my husbands many years ago! Haha

Yes, God bless and heal each of you! Cancer is the word I fear we will hear from the doctor on Tuesday when I take mom. So many questions... and mom is so fearful. My prayer right now is I say the right things and do the best things to comfort my mother. I leave tomorrow and may be gone for a while. My husband is so great and encourages me to go take care of her. He often has to live the bachelor's life alone on this side of the state while I am 300 miles away.

Through discussions on the phone this week I found out my mother (who has never voted) registered to vote decades ago! I'm taking her to vote in this Presidential election Tuesday. So, Mom will vote for the first time at age 81! She was afraid to vote and be embarrassed about how to do the actual process. I had no idea! I wonder how many of our elderly voters do not vote because they fear not understanding or being laughed about? But, anyway...
She is SOOOO excited!!! emoticon emoticon Me too!!!

Got a call after my last post from the radiologist who examined my Mammogram and they want another one done Monday of the left breast. They found calcification and these are usually nothing to worry about BUT...since this was how the cancer in my right breast was found 10 years ago I am a little concerned. Praying it won't be a problem this time around.

Thanks Tammae and Val.
Yes not knowing which of the 3 cancers it could be, or how advanced is stressful.

I quit one of my 3 blood pressure pills. It was one that the Dr knocked in half when I lost 30 pounds. I take 3 for BP. But since fasting longer (I do 6:18 now) I was having a lot of low BP with light headedness. Since I quit this one (25 mg), I haven't had any more light headedness and BP is good.
I'm afraid my Dr is too busy to have interest in me. So it will just not register unless I tell her. If I can drop more weight I know she won't care.

Praying for you Eliz! Tammae is right--the NOT knowing is stressful. When I had my breast cancer, once they told me I had it for certain I got in "Ok--it is what it is, so let's deal with this and get cancer free!" mode.

Thanks Tammae! I am always encouraged by hearing about others getting off meds! I knew I could do it! But I wanted her to say it! LOL! At least my doctor takes in consideration MY opinions! HA HA!

I had been thinking about going so I said SURE! I had a blast! A bit uncoordinated at first but I think I will learn the routines the more I go. It's kinda like Hip-hop dance exercise and it's FREE! Yay!

Oh, Eliz... so sorry for your news. My prayers are for you tonight. My mom is dealing with "unknowns" and more testing to come. The not knowing is the worse. Your post makes me more observant about all the moles I have. You just never know...

Thanks for the info and advice, Adrienne. I may try that 1000 calorie idea. That could be doable while at my mother's house. I go again on Monday... so will try this idea out then.

Val, glad to know the doctor let you off the blood sugar pill... and I think it is pretty funny you were already off that pill anyway! Keep pushing and don't give up on LCHF. My husband dropped completely off blood pressure meds eating this way. In two years he went from 20 mg Lisinopril to zero! Just have to give the diet time. At first the doctor said... more veggies and fruit, grains, etc... and exercise. After the two years eating LCHF the doctor said, "Uhh, just do what you've been doing." Sometimes I think docs are ready to give out pills too fast. Just my non-doctor opinion... emoticon

Great news Val!!

Hi! All!

I fell off the fasting wagon.

I found out a little over a week ago I have skin cancer on my foot. Its one of those things I should have checked years ago. I had actually been told stories of 3 people with it, and read about a man having it, and knew I had a spot on my foot since my late 20s I should have had looked at. And it is cancer.

Having surgery and a biopsy as to which kind it is on the 29th. Wish it was sooner. Will be off my feet 6 weeks :o( The initial test just tells if there are cancer cells. They'll see if it has reached a lymph node too.

I need to get my fasting groove back before the surgery.

I just feel scatterbrained.

Well......I heard from my doc via "My Chart". Calcium was high so I am to stop any supplements I may be on for Calcium. There is some in my Multi but I also has been back on Tums because most of the time I hadn't needed Prilosec anymore. I have been taking 2-3 Tums at night because of stomach acid sooooo now I will find another way.

Protein in urine and the other numbers that have to do with Kidneys higher then should be so she will put me on a low dose BP med. I told her I am cutting back on my protein voluntarily. Dr, Fung recommends that anyways on a LCHF diet.

Cholesterol higher then she likes so I am to cut back on fried foods and fast foods and red meat---uhhhh really? Standard response from doctors anyways...as lo told exercise 30 minutes or more a day--another standard answer. I have seen where when you are on a LCHF diet your cholesterol will go up since your body is using it's own fat for fuel. We don't fry food and if we eat fast food I get things like salads anyways. Or Chili if at Wendy's. So in other words I won't be changing much! LOL!

A1C was 6.0 which she is happy happy about and I can officially stop the Metformin if I want---welll DUH! THAT was one of my goals! LOL! Besides---I had already stopped it. And she is really happy about the weight loss.

PAP was normal and mammogram is tomorrow.

TammaE I do 500 (or if not coping push it out to 1000) but being you're close to goal if not at it then you could do 1000 then your mum may not even notice, skip breakfast or just have a tea/coffee then small lunch and dinner.

emoticon Hi, Eydie! Good to see your post!!!
emoticon Val, keeping my fingers crossed for your doctor results. Let us know...
emoticon Adrienne, getting well is the key and then get into that exercise. Question for you... how many calories do you consume on the dd? I am wondering if I should try that when at my mother's house. I spend so much time there and eat WAY too much on 18:6.

I'm caught up with work and am having a yard sale after my hair cut. I live across from the elementary school so will use the parent traffic to try and get rid of some stuff. Also, it is extremely warm (and windy) for November right now and this weather is perfect for getting some sunshine. Sunshine seems to give me an energy boost. Have a great day, everyone!

This month I'm sticking with alternate day fasting, today is a dd and I'm ready for it. I also intend to bring exercise back into the equation this month, just a 15 minute weight liftin rotation on work days, and a short stretch video in the mornings. Everything is tight from a month of not moving so that will be changing. Nextra month I'll begin turbofire on Wed and Saturday too. Sunday will be a sleep in day still. Plus I'll walk the dogs when I can of course but I just need to get stronger again.

TAMMAE, My MIL is like your Mom in that she doesn't understand fasting either. She also doesn't understand what a low carb diet is. She thinks it's just cutting out sugar. Ahhh well!

My A1C result was good this time around. My only concern is the results that show kidney function aren't so great. There are a couple more to come back yet (I view online) and then I am sure she will call me about it. I am not too concerned....yet! Ha ha! I'll let you know when I hear from her.

emoticon Gotta keep this group pumped! This year is flying by... are you meeting your health goals?

I seem to be a yo-yo and have good/not so great weeks. emoticon
Goodbye, October and Hello to you, November... I'm trying to focus on eating mindfully this month, adding a bit of exercise and mixing my 5:2 with 18:6.
On the weeks I travel I go with 18:6 and to be honest it is much more difficult for me to do properly! I seem more controlled on 5:2 (which I do at home) and while away caring for mom I tend to just skip breakfast.

October... dealing with stress by adding sugar is NEVER good.
November... adding exercise may motivate me to eat better...???

I don't mean to whine. I want to help mom and she wants me there. I just have to figure out to fast while with her (which is over 1/2 of the month) because she doesn't understand fasting at all. Mom's thinking is that is something you HAVE to do for a colonoscopy! emoticon
