my mom found a lab that charges $47, and then you take it to a doctor and get the prescriptio n. so maybe ill try that, way cheaper!

Ick....I've been on meds for thyroid since I was 17, the good news is the prescription is one of the super cheap ones (walmart $10 for 90 days)
I would look into community health clinics for the lab work, many of them bill on a sliding scale based on what you make.

I may not be there yet but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

I got tired of starting over and working back to where I was, so I have stopped giving up!

Thyroid issues can start pretty young. My husband has been on medication for his since he was about 30. I agree with the person who suggested trying some local clinics to see if you can get a lower price. And, as an aside, that just reminds me how glad I am that I live in Canada and don't have to worry about the price of medical tests and treatments.

Ahh, that's sort of what I figured. That sucks that the cost is $600!

You might also want to look around for symptoms associated with thyroid problems, to see if you how many of those you have / don't have.

Can you get assistance / cheaper rate through the city or a community center?

i def can not afford that now! i have no insurance. what a bummer.

well i will be calling around to some doctors offices to get quotes so wish me luck for a cheaper price.
