My husband and I are at the very beginning of the adoption process. We gave up TTC back in February when we had a failed IVF with donor eggs and none left and decided that was it, we weren't throwing any more money to the fertility industry. We are very ready to adopt. However, we are having a hard time deciding which type of adoption is right for us - fost adopt, international, domestic. We went to an informational session at an agency, and the info was great, but it led to more indecision on my part. Hubby is all for international, and always has been. I was all for domestic, but now I am up in the air. I really want to adopt a baby, though I'm ok if it's not a newborn. He's okay with a baby, but he thinks that we should be open to an older child. So I think birth-2 is a good compromise. I'm willing to open it up to age 4 if birth-2 doesn't work out. He prefers closed adoption. I'm perfectly fine with not getting to know the birth parents, but I think it's important to have as much info (esp. medical) about them as possible. We are decided on caucasian/native american/hispanic for ethnicity. So, which would probably be the better adoption type for us? emoticon
