Tonight I'm grateful for:

-My overall good health, despite this temporary nasty/pesky cold/cough/sore throat/fever
-Nearby friends, several of whom have said they're a phone call away for anything I need
-The best little 4-legged nurses, bed mates and company I could ask for
-Being wiser as I've grown older, specifically, listening to my body, canceling plans and staying home to rest (used to I'd just push right on through it)
-The good fortune to watch some fine U.S. Open tennis today (Federer and Serena both played and won their third round matches)
-Napping, something not typical for me, but not surprising given my past two nights of lousy sleep, also not usual

Goodnight all,
Stephanie

Home sweet home! Made my way back after the encouragement of
emoticon friends emoticon

Oy! How the time flies...my last post was at the end of March with dear friend Adelaida's arrival from Ecuador. After a wonderful sojourn in Arkansas, we headed to California for more fun and then on to Maui, the final destination for the two of us, although she spent a week on the East Coast (NYC area) before returning to Ecuador after almost 2.5 months of adventure in the USA!

Gratitude -- a Life Force, one that keep me going when the going gets tough~~

~ the heavenly extra month I spent on Maui with beloved friend Diana after Adelaida's departure

~ feeling 80% better after my GP referred me to a PT, who I've worked with for three weeks, fnow or chronic sciatica pain

~ weekend festivities to celebrate a dear local friend's birthday

~ looking forward to ringing up dearest Stephanie for a catch-up call when things diminish to a dull roar

~ the rare and amazing opportunity to hear Justice Ginsberg (the notorious RBG!) speak in Little Rock on Sept 3, sponsored by the Clinton School

Blessed be,

Sometimes I look for this forum on really good days to recount all my "blessings." Sometimes it seems I "fall" here on really bad days, maybe looking for encouragement. Regardless of whether the day is good or bad perse, we can always find little gratitudes!

My crazy purring cat that sleeps all day.

My old white dog with all her spunk in spite of her difficulties.

My morning walking pal that is upbeat and keeps me moving along.

A partner in "crime" willing to stand by me when the chips are down.

Telephone call with my Daddy who tells me all about his recent work on all his cars complete with parts' lists... oh my.

Have a good week, ya'll!

Grateful for: Kindle Unlimited. I do not make enough money to buy all the books I read (up to over 394 for the year and counting... ) so this is helpful.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Air conditioning, still, as heat advisories continue
-The company who runs my work cafeteria offering a monthly cooking class; today was the first (Thai Purple Rice Bowl), a most excellent vegetarian dish!! (future offering to include tutelage on how to properly use a chef's knife, I need a refresher badly)
-Learning about cutting gloves; never knew they existed. Very inexpensive and would have saved me from lots of small chopping injuries (purchasing soon!)
-Another few pounds gone
-Replacing my jeans easily via Costco, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans for $14.99
-Making a Thai yellow curry dish tonight with my CSA produce (red and yellow bell peppers, green beans and onions); a new CSA bag arrives tomorrow at the office
-Cassie and our sweet little talks that we have (in Cassie talk, which apparently I'm OK at)
-Sleeping at the bottom of a 3-cat pile-up

Grateful for: The chance to spend time with family we don't see very often, and to spend some real time just talking with them and finding out how they are doing.

Going to the Fiber festival and having a pretty good day, and a really interesting experience visiting a lavender farm in the area. What a beautiful state we live in!

Grateful for: energy to do shopping in five different stores, finished grocery shopping for probably the next several weeks and got some much needed items...

Grateful that we have the money to do that!

And utterly thankful for the gift 11 years ago of my beautiful Rosy, who has been a blessing each and every day of her life. She's gloriously loved.... such a good dog.

Today, rolled 3 50 pts in the bonus spins. wow! Must be a lucky day, so am grateful.

Thankful: that although it was too hot and then too stormy to do yard work, i did get the trash out AND did some cleanup in the house. Yay for me! And for good progress on some tasks. Thankful.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-The best plumber I could ask for; they have my huge loyalty
-My common sense in not doing laundry or running the dishwasher when I knew I had a plumbing issue downstairs
-A glass of chilled white Bordeaux to get through unexpected plumbing costs (and remembering the days when I wouldn't have had the $$)
-A middle ground for a day off from cardio and/or strength training; meeting my 10-minute minimum by stretching and/or meditation, both very important
-Getting a miniature purple rose bush and a card at Trader Joe's when I found out my admin is on vacation after tomorrow (her birthday is Friday)
-Thoroughly enjoying the most recent mystery book I started; thinking a bit of reading now at the bottom of a 3-cat pile-up is in order

Have a great evening all -
Stephanie

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Air conditioning!
-More clearing and decluttering, continued forward motion
-My research capabilities, serves me well all the time, especially now
-Finding out why I've got the terrible itchies all over ... I stopped taking my antihistamine for allergies and am now going through "discontinuation syndrome" - who knew - so now that I know this (FDA doesn't have this as known risk/symptom while other countries DO have it on their labels), I'll get through this and try to NOT take the antihistamine again
-My soft, comfortable bed that will help me have another good night of rest
-The kitties I see waiting for me to hit the bed ...

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Sandra (bowing in gratitude for getting us going this month)
-The smell of rain in the air
-The gentle touch of a soft drizzle on my arms
-Watermelon and cantaloupe from CSA bag all cut up, and fresh produce shared, as needed; making a big salad is next on the agenda - oh my, these heirloom tomatoes (regular and cherry)
-Turning down drinking wine and playing my favorite word game with a friend so that I can get a solid strength training session in that didn't happen last night
-The best exercise buddies I could ask for; sure wish I knew what they're thinking!

Have a great evening all -
Stephanie

Extraordinarily grateful his first day of August

* For Sandra starting this thread! (When I thought about it yesterday it was too early, and when I woke up this morning it was too late)
* For all the unexpected changes in my life
* For my pool and the privacy and serenity of my backyard.
* For moving forward with my decision to buy a new home.
* For watching the progress during the building process. Nice to be close enough to check it every few days.
* For a really good massage last night
* For knowing I am loved.

❤️Happy August
❤️Today I’m grateful for:

All that’s right in my life and here.

The good health my family and I enjoy.

DH, always considers my happiness.

Our home, our life.

Seeing the beauty around me.

The willingness to let go of disappointment and hurt feelings and replace them with understanding and forgiveness.

Mazzy
