grateful
-for great company here tonight with Kim and Stephanie's inspiring appreciation of life as it is
-for a wonderfully fun day with S walking in the gusty wind for many blocks to find an old quirky bookstore
-to come home with treasures
-her dad K accepted a good job offer, moving from contracted to salaried with benefits
-to look over my "goals" for the year and realize most have been met or exceeded in interesting ways, though weight lost was less than hoped for

Blessings to each in the new year, starting with thankful hearts, hopeful spirits and (yes!) possibilities. emoticon

On this last evening of the year 2018, I am grateful for all of this, yet so much more:

-Filling my life today and tomorrow with things I'm designating as 2019 intentions
-My favorite fruits/vegetables, to nourish my body well
-Working out tonight until I sweat, to remind myself to sweat more in 2019
-10,000 steps
-A bit of yoga and some stretching
-Love and a brushing for the kitty girls who give me so much unconditionally
-Clean sheets & blankets to sleep well and welcome a new year as fresh as possible
-Healing music
-A hot shower before crawling in to clean sheets
-Lighting a candle and turning on the lighted base for the art piece I ordered earlier this year from Artful Ashes in Beth's memory; she lives on in my heart and soul

-This practice and each of you who share it; I will think of you as I end my night with the singing bowl ... sending loving vibrations out to the world

Be safe and healthy and happy, my ThanksGiving friends ... may we all be open to a 2019 full of new possibilities,

Stephanie

Today I'm grateful for:

-Words With Friends (I do so love my word games)
-Goals and the goal-setting that helps you get there

-A yoga cat jigsaw puzzle sent by a friend
-Almost a 5-day weekend (working 1/2-day on New Year's Eve); I now have a tradition of taking the first working day of each year as a day of vacation (makes a personal statement)

Have a great evening all,

Thankful for a good Christmas dinner yesterday afternoon, for a really good day for everyone including the parents who stayed home.

For Rosy who helped open presents and also enjoyed her present of warm Christmas dinner with great joy.

For the chance to go for a nice walk today. NOT going out with all the crazy people today. :) That's a blessing in and of itself.

Tonight, on Christmas, I'm grateful for all of this, yet so much more:

-Having the exact day I wanted, a PJ day at home!!
-Cooking myself a special brunch
-Sky Valley Heirloom oranges; they came in to Trader Joe's days before the holiday and I anxiously await them every year
-My neighbors bringing me over a loaf of warm banana bread, which they know is my favorite
-Talking to my mother, my sis and dear friends on the phone
-Leftovers from a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with friends last night
-Lots of good kitty snuggles, a great book and a nap (very rare for me)

I hope everybody is having a wonderful day,
Stephanie

Thankful that today is far less irritating than yesterday. LOL.

And that although I felt left out yesterday at the family gathering, we did get together and that was a good thing. And I feel better now. ;)

Grateful for a good family and a good meal to look forward to today. It is my birthday, and I have family here to share it with, which is always a blessing.

And the chance to take a shower in clean water, a blessing not everyone in the world has.

and grateful for the chance to contribute and with hope, make things in this world better for everyone.

Grateful for:

Being with extended family even tho it was an annoying time together. We rarely see them so it is good to spend time together no matter what

That Mom finally took her pills. Even tho it was 7 hours later than she should have taken them.

That even tho it was an annoying day it is still a day of being alive and tomorrow will be better. Ihope!

And it is good to have hope.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Two days of perfect temps, both with opportunity for me to rake leaves in the sunshine
-The quiet relaxation I get working out in nature, especially my own yard
-The flexibility of working from home today
-Communing with the leaves; two days in a row for 1-1/2 hours each, raking and bagging, the old-fashioned way
-A near-perfect day today for nutrition and not bad for exercise; definite improvement over some poorer weekend eating
-These sweet kitty girls and all of us getting ready to head to a comfie bed

Today I'm grateful for:

-Giving a double donation at our onsite blood drive; I haven't been able to donate for 1-2 years and I was so happy as I used to be a regular donor
-Loving new sticker they handed out to wear: "I don't have to workout today. I saved a life and donated blood today." (free pass from working out) Ha!
-A Network for Grateful Living (www.gratefulness.org)
-Predictions for 50s and sunshine Saturday, a weekend day so I can get some more leaves taken care of
-Lots of red fox activity in our 'hood over the past week; I got great views of two in my back yard; if I'd had a camera, they would have been great shots
-Waking up this morning with all three of my kitty girls snuggled in around me (it's usually only two)

Have a great evening all -

Stephanie

Grateful for:

getting 50 pts for the team. that was a surprise!

Seeing all the Christmas lights while walking at night, and feeling inspired to get our Christmas decorations up.

For a friend mentioning how hard people are to see at night. And reminding me I need to get some reflective tape so people can see me at night or wear a safety vest that is reflective

Thankful:

Mom had a pretty good morning despite saying earlier she hadn't slept well. She actually slept pretty well and realized that later.

That I slept about 11 hours.

that the doggie newsletter is out, despite the fact that one of them seemed to disappear into the ether.

Grateful for:

Mom's issues this morning working themselves out peacefully and without quite as much stress as two days ago.

For a peaceful night for all of us

For the fact that our squirrels are plump and happy. I would prefer not to feed them, but God created squirrels as well as birds, and it is hard to see them looking cold and desperate. LOL.

Thankful that my Mother, who was refusing to go to the doctor (because she felt ill) woke up and said, "I'm ready to go now.... " and even changed her clothing before going. Yay! Big strides forward.

and for a perceptive and thoughtful doctor who said, "You need to drink more water. You need to double what you are drinking, or things will not change for the better."

and thankful just that today was a day in which we are all a live and doing things.

-Brushing these kitties, such a soothing and calming ritual for all of us
-Getting a card made out to close friend who has the 1-year anniversary of the loss of her mother coming right up
-My comfortable home, my soothing zone

And here I am again tonight because I need to be:

-A wonderful workout routine: 16-minute power walk & talk with Jessica Smith, 25 minutes easy recumbent, plank work, then 10 minutes of stretching
-Finding a most excellent reward for myself: time with my singing bowl
-The three little exercise buddies I live with
-Realizing I need to work on my attitude a little bit; nothing horrible, but the holiday season doesn't help me
-Finding a new way to do kitty mani/pedis without it seeming so hard
-Leftover pad thai and my warm comfortable bed calling me soon

Today I'm grateful for:

-My body
-My strong legs and feet that carry me through a LOT of life, even when I abuse them and walk 6+ hours at a time; they're very forgiving
-My hands, they help me earn my living, chop vegetables and do other cooking, writing, typing gratitudes, driving, and petting my kitty girls, so many necessities of life
-My eyes, for they see everything - the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful
-My ears, that allow me to take in music and be a good listener for a friend
-My heart, a big one, that beats strong

And for a good morning with Mom

We are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime. ―Laura Ingalls Wilder

Grateful for:

Mom joining us in the family room, instead of staying quietly in her bedroom. Still recovering, but doing very well.

Quotes that enlighten us, expressing truths in ways that make us think about things in life differently.

That this morning started well.

It was snowing. It was always snowing at Christmas. December, in my memory, is white as Lapland, though there were no reindeers. But there were cats.

-Words With Friends
-Hot showers
-Getting more exercise in this month already than I was able to do the entire last month - Yay!

Goodnight all,
Stephanie

It's your first and last garment; it is what you enter life in and what you depart life with,

Tonight, this first evening of the December, I'm so grateful for:

-My favorite event of the year, my beloved Arboretum Luminary Walk, ever-changing as popularity grows
-Enough health to be able to walk 6-7 hours on my feet, lighting luminaries, patroling the path to relight/restock candles, and finally snuffing candles ... thousands of candles
-The miracles of stretching
-A tough (light rain off and on all evening), but still quite enjoyable time; going back for more next weekend
-23,000+ steps, says my FitBit; oh my, I've been a busy girl today and tonight and it sent me an "overachiever" message - Bahahahaha
-My sweet, sweet kitties who are always so glad to see me
-Plans for a quiet day at home tomorrow with veggies ready to go into my crockpot
-My warm, soft, comfortable bed that's calling me quickly

Goodnight all,
Stephanie
