Grateful for:

Mom's issues this morning working themselves out peacefully and without quite as much stress as two days ago.

For a peaceful night for all of us

For the fact that our squirrels are plump and happy. I would prefer not to feed them, but God created squirrels as well as birds, and it is hard to see them looking cold and desperate. LOL.

Thankful that my Mother, who was refusing to go to the doctor (because she felt ill) woke up and said, "I'm ready to go now.... " and even changed her clothing before going. Yay! Big strides forward.

and for a perceptive and thoughtful doctor who said, "You need to drink more water. You need to double what you are drinking, or things will not change for the better."

and thankful just that today was a day in which we are all a live and doing things.

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Ann getting to spend good time with her mom! emoticon
-Leaving work a bit early when I wasn't feeling my best
-Considering allowing myself to NOT attend tomorrow's department holiday party; just not feeling the holiday cheer this year, but don't want to draw attention to it, nothing really wrong
-My sweet kitty girls, ready right now to jump into bed and have me turn the heating pad on!! They no fools ... not a one of 'em
-Brushing these kitties, such a soothing and calming ritual for all of us
-Getting a card made out to close friend who has the 1-year anniversary of the loss of her mother coming right up
-My comfortable home, my soothing zone

Goodnight all,
Stephanie

And here I am again tonight because I need to be:

-A wonderful workout routine: 16-minute power walk & talk with Jessica Smith, 25 minutes easy recumbent, plank work, then 10 minutes of stretching
-Finding a most excellent reward for myself: time with my singing bowl
-The three little exercise buddies I live with
-Realizing I need to work on my attitude a little bit; nothing horrible, but the holiday season doesn't help me
-Finding a new way to do kitty mani/pedis without it seeming so hard
-Leftover pad thai and my warm comfortable bed calling me soon

Goodnight all,
Stephanie

Today I'm grateful for:

-My body
-My strong legs and feet that carry me through a LOT of life, even when I abuse them and walk 6+ hours at a time; they're very forgiving
-My hands, they help me earn my living, chop vegetables and do other cooking, writing, typing gratitudes, driving, and petting my kitty girls, so many necessities of life
-My eyes, for they see everything - the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful
-My ears, that allow me to take in music and be a good listener for a friend
-My heart, a big one, that beats strong

Grateful for:

Mom joining us in the family room, instead of staying quietly in her bedroom. Still recovering, but doing very well.

Quotes that enlighten us, expressing truths in ways that make us think about things in life differently.

That this morning started well.

It was snowing. It was always snowing at Christmas. December, in my memory, is white as Lapland, though there were no reindeers. But there were cats.

Tonight, this first evening of the December, I'm so grateful for:

-My favorite event of the year, my beloved Arboretum Luminary Walk, ever-changing as popularity grows
-Enough health to be able to walk 6-7 hours on my feet, lighting luminaries, patroling the path to relight/restock candles, and finally snuffing candles ... thousands of candles
-The miracles of stretching
-A tough (light rain off and on all evening), but still quite enjoyable time; going back for more next weekend
-23,000+ steps, says my FitBit; oh my, I've been a busy girl today and tonight and it sent me an "overachiever" message - Bahahahaha
-My sweet, sweet kitties who are always so glad to see me
-Plans for a quiet day at home tomorrow with veggies ready to go into my crockpot
-My warm, soft, comfortable bed that's calling me quickly

Goodnight all,
Stephanie
