Tonight, on this last day of April, I'm grateful for all of this, yet so much more:

-The amazing softness of Cleo, my Siamese girl, whose coat feels softer than fur
-Rosie's beautiful green eyes as she looks into mine with complete, unconditional love
-The way Cassie talks to me and purrs at the same time, then I chatter back and we go back and forth
-My home, that I seem to be caring more about maintaining and improving than I have for over four years now
-Good friends
-My comfortable bed, calling me now

Goodnight all,
Stephanie

Grateful for:

Mom's migraine was controlled with Tylenol, and she is ok this morning and that we are not rushing her to the hospital.

Mom is drinking fluids. She has a really hard time with this, and it is so important healthwise that she keep drinking.

That I feel good today, and am getting motivated to go out and do some (healthy) grocery shopping.

That Rosy seems to feel better. Yay for Rosy!

Tonight I am grateful for all of this, yet so much more:

-Spring has truly sprung in my back yard and in my heart!!
-My water gardens are open and I'm thoroughly enjoying the beautiful waterfall flows
-My back yard nature sanctuary enjoying the gardens too - grackles, robins & cardinals, all taking a nice splashy bird bath together in the top section while squirrels and mourning doves drink from the bottom pond, with the koi, comets and goldfish basking in the sun underwater
-Loud-mouthed guys like this one in full swing; he let me get some great snaps last night:

-Spending the entire afternoon at the zoo (4 hours, boy did I get some steps in)
-Heading to the kitchen to open a bottle of red wine and have a glass on the deck under the near-full moon, listening to my beloved waterfalls
-The Fish Fry (8 pm - 12 am, Friday/Saturday), an incredible blues, etc. radio show on our local radio station, hearing a live interview with my dear friend, Kelley Hunt www.kcur.org
-The diva kitty girls and me all enjoying open windows for some fresh air, more of that to come tomorrow on another fabulous spring day!

Cheersl,
Stephanie

Another 5:30am rising, after a good night's sleep this time.Thinking of all I have to be grateful for before I do pranayama and sit~~

~ a package with some of beloved Jnani's jewelry arrived yesterday, another way to enjoy the memories of my beloved friend

~ housemate Robert insisted we go to a park by the Arkansas River, since I was in such a sad, defeated mood yesterday. We hauled my bike there oo and both of us took turns riding it around the park. It was a beautiful sunny day and being there helped my spirit.

~ cleared out the sink and made a cupa' cupa' first thing

~ with full sun and an expected high of 81 degrees, I hope to spend some time on my bike today

~ intending to be centered in how I deal with a major disappointment from a friend

For sunshine, a rare commodity these past few months. We have clouds too, but grateful for that, since we always need rain.

Good morning gratitudin' friends,

Hoping that M's 65th is his best year yet and that I can talk Ann into sharing his "favorite chocolate cake" recipe. And YAY ANN! for being content with a taste!

Grateful this morning for so much, including~~

~ In spite of our problems and defeats, we in this group live in such a bubble of abundance and I'm trying to make every moment a moment of oratitude

~ though my anterior deltoid continues to be noticeably injured, perhaps beginning a daily home yoga practice (without any upper arm positions like down dog or plank) could be a blessing in disguise, having suspended my 3-classes -a-week for this month

~ after receiving a highly disturbing notice in yesterday's mail of $763 being overdue and being charged an additional $104 in late fees, I reached an amicable resolution by phone, with the $104 being removed (they claimed that I had received two prior mailed notices of this bill, which is untrue)

~ adjusting my appetite to accept the 1550 maximum daily calories SparkTracking allows me, and working on not feeling deprived (read my lips -- "SPOILED")

~ enjoying the preparation for the last spring semester class today, a discussion of Heidegger and Buddhism

Blessed be,
Maha

Good morning,

Didn't mean to get up at 5:30am after going to bed at midnight, but here I am, and all is (relatively) well. Gratefulness ~~

~ for a quiet living space in the country away from the "madding crowd"

~ self-forgiveness (certainly just as imiportant as forgiving others)

~ extra one-on-one quality time with taiji instructor yesterday, helping me memorize the movements, and she said we could do this each week after class if I wished (!!!)

~ down 15 oz. this week -- shall I call it one pound (lol)?

~ beginning to track food again and seeing how imiportant that is to the process

Blessed be,
Maha

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Being able to fit a shorter walk in tonight at the park after meeting with my landscaper
-Lots of forward progress on a long overdue project that I let go
-Listening to my singing frogs out in the ponds (they are LOUD); remembering how I once asked Beth if neighbors could turn us in for having frogs that were disturbing their peace! Ha!
-My comfortable home

Tonight I'm grateful for:

-Breakfast with dear friends not seen in too long (AND I ate a very healthy breakfast)
-Needed light rains off and on throughout the day
-Being able to help a friend with a small project today
-Having a lighter weekend of exercise after hitting it pretty hard all last week; tomorrow is a new week and I'll pump up the volume again
-Supporting a friend going through a breakup
-These sweet kitty girls that I live with and all they bring to our lives together
-My comfortable home
-Always, my health
-A soft, warm bed that's calling me now (and I think I see at least four kitty ears sticking up from the bed)

Goodnight all,
Stephanie

Grateful for:

The gift of time, with my parents, for myself, and with my dear Rosy
The gift of spring, such beautiful fresh greens are coming up, temperatures are finally springlike, and the birds are singing away. (must feed those robins though!)

The gift of family. So blessed to have this family.

Happy Saturday!

I'm grateful for so much, including BEing HERE NOW, and~~

~ happy to be going to see Amy Schumer in I FEEL PRETTY today with a good freind that I haven't seen for awhile

~ enjoying the always-evolving awareness that appearance REALLY ain't what it's about

~ this friend, with an amazing contralto voice, has the lead role in Carmen, which I look forward to seeing at the first of May

~having a fruitful conversation with my PT, who recommended icing my upper arm-shoulder and looking up deltoid and bicep stretches to help resolve the problem

~ enjoying introducing friends to a new little *hole-in-the-wall* eatery, Taqueria Gonzalez, offering simple menu items with clean, fresh ingredients. They are very friendly and open to substitutions and variations

Blessed be,
Maha

In I FEEL PRETTY an overweight woman who struggles with feelings of deep insecurity and low self-esteem, that hold her back everyday, wakes from a brutal fall in an exercise class believing she is suddenly a supermodel. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?

Today I'm grateful for:

-Making plans for a walk and talk with dear friend this evening on a gorgeous day full of sunshine
-My sister is safely home from France; we will have a walk and talk Sunday so I can hear all about it
-Facebook post from old friend telling me she played one of Beth's songs at a gig, how much she loved the song and how well received it was by her audience; totally made my day ... Beth's music lives on in more ways than one
-Getting my Spark trophy for 1,000 minutes of April exercise; shooting for 1,500, which I haven't done since hiking the Grand Canyon October 2016 ... I'm well on my way
-My company, for two reasons today: (1) walking in every morning to a choice of fresh fruit in the lobby; and (2) the healthy incentive exercise program that's contributing to keeping me motivated (it's a team challenge and I never want to let my team down)

Have a great day all -

Stephanie

Grateful
* That my granddaughter, who just passed her drivers' test and is a newly licensed 16 year old, called and wanted to stop by after she dropped off sister at soccer practice.
* For an incredibly busy social calendar this past week...keeping me from getting done what needs to be done, but keeping me connected with friends (always a priority)
* For NOT losing my passport the day before I leave!
* For my dad being in such great shape after being hospitalized three times in the past month.
* That his visiting nurse has things well scheduled, and he is enjoying her care giving (since I am not able to be there...)
* For mine, and my family's access to health care
* For Stephanie setting up the May thread in my absence.

I will be out of the country for the next 19 days, and as usual, will only have my phone for internet access. I usually have difficulty accessing this site. So if you don't hear from me, it is because of technical difficulties, not that I am not thankful for my life.

This morning I'm grateful for all of this, yet really so much more:

-My Fitbit that's given me SO much insight into my sleep patterns
-There being no doubt that using the standing stations at work to walk in place 30-60 minutes daily, five days a week, combined with my usual exercise, has really improved my sleep
-Sunshine and driving to work with my sunroof open again ... aaaaah ... truly breaths of fresh air
-Remembering to put my yellow curry & garam masala spice bottles in the car to get refills at Savory Spice on my way home; I used the last of it last night for a recipe I use often
-Cooking again last night with leftovers that will keep me going for a few days
-Those adorable kitty girls I live with who were making me smile at the way they were totally soaking up the morning sunshine streaming in; we all needed sunshine!

Have a great day all -

Stephanie
