I think I'll just do a once per week accountability check in (aside from my other interactions on this group), that will help.

This week I lost a little over 2 pounds. Of course I was hoping for more, but the more I think about it the more I realize that "slow and steady" truly does win the race.

I agree with you, I have certainly had to forgive more than once, yet for me it's more about my forgiveness being wrapped up in something very wonderful and lofty in the moment (forgiving my father) and then, weeks down the road, having a more average day and noticing the same unforgiving feelings come back up.

I think that what you've written is very powerful, about the difference between being guided by the Holy Spirit, compared to being guided by sheer will power. Good thoughts!!

I've never heard of these holidays. It's a good idea. Maybe it could be on national day of prayer.

Gives us something to think about. It seems that sometimes you have to forgive people more than once. I mean, you did already, but they do the same thing again, or something new. I think it stems from habits that are carnal. You know like , someone been self centered and selfish and getting mad. This s why I wonder why I never heard about renewing ones mind until years after I was a christian, or spiritual warfare ( like praise ).

I do think when we are the most unsuccessful, we either are indifferent to some pattern, or try and do it by will power and not the Holy Spirit.

Today, Saturday, Oct 29th is NATIONAL FORGIVENESS DAY 2016

Pretty sure no one would dare to say that he or she has done nothing wrong to anyone or have not been done wrong by anybody because everyone else has its flaws and imperfections. It’s just the way it is. We admit it that at some point in our life, one way or another, we know somebody who constantly offends us, or have offended us in the past. Today is day to release your forgiveness over them. After all, you might have also done the same way to some people who are dearest to you.

National Forgiveness Day is celebrated every Last Saturday of the month of October.

National Forgiveness Day will celebrate its 8th annual observance this year. Some groups and organizations established and sponsor kinds of holiday in resemblance with this special day. Global Forgiveness Day is celebrated on August 27; Forgiveness Day is observed on June 26; International Forgiveness Day is held every First Sunday of August.

We can trace back its little history when USA and Canada had its first National Forgiveness Day proclaimed in 1994. Canada celebrates this day up to now and renamed it Global Forgiveness Day. While USA, after it died out after 3 years, it was reborn when the Centre of Unconditional Love held a rally on the last Saturday of October in 2006 in Ohio.

There’s no information that directly shows any proclamation of these holidays and how they are related with each other; how it began, though the reason behind it is very explicit. These holidays may have different dates but one thing is apparently profound. It clearly offers a very impeccable opportunity for every single individual to give chance to relationships that has been torn apart because of conflicts and misunderstandings and go through the process of restoration and wholeness. Having said that, is it not right to rather take advantage of this day regardless of when it is to be properly celebrated? I may say it’s not the date, but the thought that counts.

Nothing to Lose this National Forgiveness Day

Since this is a day set aside for celebration of unconditional love, a kind of love that keeps no records of wrong done to a person, does not display itself haughtily, never expects something in return, and the kind of love which God bestowed upon His most wonderful creation, mankind; let’s make the most out of it. It may be easier to say than to execute but really you are doing a great act of kindness for yourself if you try to release forgiveness over a person. It may be costly and sacrificial, but you got nothing to lose, except for your pride.

By so doing, you are also delivering yourself from a deeper damage in your moral, social, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual condition that you might experience in the future. Forgiveness will cause you to attain:

A healthier physical body
- According to medical studies and research, forgiveness causes incredible health outcomes such as lowering the chances of Hypertension, various Cancers, Heart and Kidney problems, Stroke, Immune System disorder and all other life-threatening diseases.

Stronger relationships
- Holding on to the past hurts and other baggage will greatly affect how you deal with your relationship to people. In forgiving, you will be free from hostility, bitterness, despair, fretfulness, anxiety, anger, stress, guilt, condemnation, becoming negative and critical and isolation from people. You will be spared from a greater damage in the future.

Liberty of your soul
- Releasing forgiveness will cause you to experience such liberty that is incomparable to any value of money. Nobody can buy such freedom from a hurtful situation. But through a genuine love and acceptance, you are opening your door for a happier and well satisfied life, with full understanding that you got to live your life to the fullest every day.

Forgiveness is a choice that you will do every single day and a dose to a healthy lifestyle and longevity of a lifespan on earth.

Ways to celebrate National Forgiveness Day:
Forgive your offender. You don’t have to wait for someone to say “Sorry”. Decide to forgive and let them know that they’re forgiven.
Spread the news about this special day. Encourage them to do the same thing.
Share the benefits you can achieve from forgiveness.

okay, so today is Monday. Our church is having 40 days of prayer for physical healing. I picked today to fast and pray two meals and seek God. I also will do the rest of the day on the 29th of this month.

So I will be also be getting into the study of the word. I wanted to do a word study on the Holy Spirit , that I had in my bible study notes. I most of taken it out, because I can't find it. If I don't see it; I'll find something else to study, separate from my current reading and group studies.

I just spent a week with my dad, and he complains a lot. Maybe it is his age, but I just look at it that he may not have long on this earth and I don't want there to be regret on my part. And the bible says, "Be kind one to another..." if that is hard, find a friend and vent for a few minutes and that should make one feel better. It worked for me! Blessings.

I totally understand how draining it can be to be with a complaining person. The saddest thing is that they don't even recognize that what they're doing is complaining.

Once in awhile I stuff my face with snacks or eat too many servings when I'm uptight.

Lake last week when my mom was complaining the entire three hour visit. It's hard to hear... I just picked up a Playable Book with, OverBoard by Joyce Meyer

I was watching Steven Furtick this morning and something he said really caught my ear,
"Here you are asking God to give you Joy when you've been watching depressing crap on TV the last 3 nights." Then he went on, "...as Joyce Meyers says, 'Think about what you're thinking about'."
It impressed me so much, I used an internet image and Paint to create this pic:

John's Mom (who lives in Kentucky -- a 5-hour drive from us in Ohio) has been having health (heart) complications since her hip replacement surgery, coupled with her already-existing COPD. After 2 trips to the ER, she was admitted back into the hospital on the 15th. John's been down there throughout each week, and his brother (who also lives up here) has been going down on weekends.
To give John a break, and so he can get some stuff taken care of around our house, I'm leaving this evening to go down & spend time with her, and try to keep on top of things with her Doctor(s). [e.g., she 'forgot' to tell her hip Dr. that she had fallen twice since the surgery].

It was fun house sitting but their cat was another thing. I let the cat out in the morning but when your asleep and the cat wants out at 2 or 3 in the morning and wants in about 10 to 15 minutes later I didn't get enough sleep at all so when they came back from the beach I was happy cause now my girlfriend will get her old job back and I slept real good Saturday morning and didn't get up until 9. But all I can say I'm glad it's over with. I forgot to tell you it's an indoor outdoor cat.

The dealer called; they were supposed to get the van with the exact options & color (Metallic Silver) we wanted from a dealer in PA -- it's been sold. He can get one with power doors for $1,100 extra & we told him not only are we not willing to pay extra, we really don't want them. (We have had power sliding doors on 2 Montanas and had problems with both)
He can get one with the exact options we want but in Flint Grey Metallic (which looks like a dark grey in the brochure but they don't have anything in that color on the lot & we've never seen what the color looks like in person). We told him that if he wants to dealer-trade for that one & we'll look at it, but made it clear that if we don't like color we will decline. Waiting for a call-back.

Right now hubby is in KY with his mother (89) who had hip replacement surgery a couple weeks ago & just came home from rehab on Thurs. So van shopping may be on hold for now.

We remained homebodies on the 4th.

Spent most of the day today shopping for 1 new van to replace our 12-year-old minivan and our 14-year-old full-size van, something with more space than the minivan but smaller (and better mileage) than the full-size.

Got my confirmation for the JM Conference, so excited. One of the things I like the most about being a volunteer (besides Joyce) is you get to catch-up with people you only see once a year. Like me many of the volunteers have been doing this for years and you are so excited to see them again. emoticon emoticon
