Today I am letting go of all the negative self-talk that plays in my head daily. I'm making a conscious effort to replace that talk with all things positive in order to keep myself motivated!!

I have also struggled with fear. It was almost paralyzing at one point. I began focusing upon a particular scripture that helps me a great deal. The scripture reads, "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the one who goes with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you!" (Deuteronomy 31:6)

It really brings me comfort when I meditate upon it.

Most people have some fear, it's what one does with it, or doesn't.

I heard once, False Evidence Appearing Real. If we take steps toward working on things than backing away... that's good. emoticon emoticon

I realized that I suffer from fear. Today, I admitted to a friend of my fear and have asked God to forgive me for my fears and not trusting God to protect me. Letting Go of something that has been a part of my life forever is difficult but I have decided to hand it over to the Lord!

It has been hard for me to let go of obsessing about what I eat because I am focused on that instead of letting go of problems. I have been turning to prayer and that seems to be helping. I notice that it also helps to keep my eyes on God and what He can do instead of the problems. But I must admit, sometimes I give in to worry and then my focus is not good. Today I will choose to trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not unto my own understanding.

Well it sounds like your still maintaining, just not doing B's and A ( average). But since you do work out still, some don't do this.

And you got alot going on with your Dad. It's important for you to spend time with him, and share with he others. I'm sure they are blessed by your prayer shawls. That in itself such mean your a prayer warrior. Don't you pray and praise doing your walks. That's different than the kind of meditation, in which one blanks out their mind. it seems like your a reflecting God's goodness.

If you need to take care of yourself more do it, so you can care for your Dad. But if it's a performance thing, than give yourself grace.

Just a quick note to express my personal dissatisfaction with MY relationship with food during this time of year when I watch the animals squirrel away their winter supply for when they think they'll have access to it (I canít help but think: just try to get through the frosty and icy ground we get here in the northland). It's been rough for me in that I have not participated up to my potential in many of the team challenges I'm in. I kick myself when I perform at a B and C level and I have to get over this mentality . . . not every challenge needs an A+ performance. Yes, I'm an overachiever! -- This is one of my many confessions. (smile, smile)

What I do for exercise is not what I would consider inspiring, but rather boring Ė I do whatever is the easiest and less stressful to my body. Iím the ultimate dovetailer and will do anything I can in the realm of exercise that also serves another function (shopping, photo trips and tour, and waterfront walk with meditation perhaps often at the 30-minute mile level). I do not like to sweat! -- Another confession here! I admire people here who run, walk fast, and really work their bodies in a robust fashion. I canít say I envy you, but I celebrate your successes as God would have us and hope I can find a way to remain an encouragement to my Spark friends.

On a more positive note -- as I watch my Dad try to settle into full nursing care and unlikely to return to assisted living lifestyle -- Iíve been blessed by building relationship with people in my Dadís nursing home. God has helped me knit and deliver six prayer shawls in the last six weeks and this has brought me great joy!

In the meantime, Iím thinking I may need to set back a little, hear from many of the teams I'm on from the weekly digest, and work towards getting back to the goals required to bring me back to a healthier BMI. Joining the Fall 5% Challenge will be just what I need to stay the course AND make improvements. I will work harder to establish and achieve Godly goals that build on the making priceless relationships with God and His children.

Reach for the stars, my dear Christian friends! May you find the Godly motivation that works to help you build healthy habits in order to improve your quality of life. In return, God will provide you with a very special peace (that passes our understanding). Sorry I've been so quiet here lately. Now to work a little more on forgiving myself! Letting go! Hug, hug!

Didn't find a chat so I will post this here.

Since so many have asked if I have a date for surgery yet I realize we just can't read everyone blogs and statuses. I commented on both of them.
So I am sending this to all of the teams I belong to.
They told me this week I have October the 18th for surgery. I said Oh, that is close to my birthday and that is a nice birthday present. She said oh, I'll try to get you in before.
I said since I was supposed to have the surgery in August it would be almost two months later in October and also told her I was hobbling.
I am hoping I get in earlier. I am trying to get everything paid and caught up till the end of the year and friends will help me with different things.
A friend from one of the teams speaks of the happy dance, so I am doing a happy dance.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Thank you who asked.
Thank you who read the blog and commented.

Letting Go..great topic. At some points in my life, I have had to ask God for forgiveness, for my unforgiveness. But it is so freeing when you come to that place where you can. It's peace for you and the right thing to do.Of course the Bible instructs us, when you stand praying, to release any unforgiveness, we have in hearts for others so our prayers can be answered. Sometimes I still remind myself " you surrendered that to God and have forgiven, so don't you pick that mess back up"..lol. But yes, letting go, is the way to peace for us.

He still hiked but not as far, because of an old football injury in college.

The end of August is always a big time of change for a teacher. Two days ago, my daughter-in-law gave birth to a bueatiful little girl.
I have to let go of my desire to be with them at this important time, and trust God to give me a special time.

Perhaps we may try this affirmation:

For all the love that God gives me, I am now an instrument of that Love and I am forgiving, loving and releasing anything that is not reflective of the Love that God gives me!

I find that it is often difficult to let go of unforgiving. This is something I spend a lot of time with in my life. I have to keep reminding myself that my own salvation will be judged by how I forgive others (being forgiven as I forgive others ... as in the LORD's prayer). The worse part is that it usually is another member of my family that had the act directed at them ... not me. How goofy is that? lol Gotta' let it go! Amen!

Letting go is a hard thing for me. I want to be in control...I have had anxiety lately because I have not let go of a certain situation. I have had to realize that I cannot meet everyone's expectations and there are some things I can't do anything about. I will just take it one day at a time, but would appreciate your prayers.

Amen on adult children challenging us. Aging parents who don't see things as you do but still expect you to follow their "rules" for you even when you are an age that says hey I have adult children too. Ok enough venting....

The one challenge that just takes time is grief. Having just lost my husband this challenge is the greatest for me. Will I? Of Course but this is one area I am definitely challenged.

I don't know why, but I sometimes find it hard to let go. I ask God to look after things for me, and then I end up trying to take it back and worry and fret about it. God is so good.

Good Day,

Today's sermon prompted this new thread - the act of letting go. There is so much going on each and every day of everyone of our lives, in our communities, in this world, and it can grieve us immensely. Think on this, if somehow, we would trust God, the Lord almighty, who promises to take care of each and everything aspect of our lives, how about we try to let go.

This thread, is for two reasons, our active admission of letting go of anything that is not positive, before it takes root; Trusting God for a solution, a healing and peace. Also, when we are at a crossroads and can't or won't let it go, send out an SOS for someone to come forth and offer support.

Our lives are the result of God who created us and knew all the components of our lives - our positives, our negatives, our upturns, our downturns, our great decisions and our not so great ones, our joys, and our pains. so if we Let Go, imagine how the rest of our lives will change.

God bless you all!
