I loved this article. I used to use oatmeal but not on keto. Now I use 2 - 3 store brand stool softeners each night. I was using Metamucil until I see 5 gr. carbs per tsp. No way. There are tablets instead. Lots of water. Stat bike exercise Intermittent, where I make sure to keep my belly engaged.

I agree with the article that staying backed up can contribute to cancers - we have no idea what they are putting in our food.

That was an interesting article Julia - and the last paragraph was the best paragraph:

"Keep in mind that anytime you change your eating habits—even when it's in a positive, healthy way—the body can initially respond with a slowdown in bowel movements. Give your digestive system a couple of weeks to adapt to the changes. Over time, with regular exercise, plenty of water intake and a well-balanced diet with the right combination of fiber, healthy fat and lean protein, you should eventually see an uptick in the frequency and quality of your bathroom visits. But if the constipation continues, it’s best to see a doctor to rule out any medical causes."

I am starting to track my BMs to make sure I go at least 2-3 times a week. After my colonoscopy, when I knew my GI track was squeaky clean, I ate. It was 5 days before I first went, but then have been going every day or every other day so I'm back on schedule.

I do think keto slows that down, and I have yet to find something that's not yucky or sweet or absolutely not keto, so I rely on magnesium and lots of water.

Anyone have a good chia seed recipe?
