Thanks for the lotion recipe. With the winter season just around the corner, I have been looking for a good one. I had one I have made for years... It is lost, thrown out during cleaning, I don't know. .. It was very similar to yours.

Thank you again,
Julie Mae

Good morning Tina emoticon

I've got tons of recipes! I'll be posting more in time, I've got a busy weekend ahead so I wont be online for a while. Congratulations on your new shop and good luck!

Great! Lisa do you have any more recipes on herbs you would like to share? I would be happy to start or change more forums for you. Have a great weekend, I am off to open the shop. (I just started this business and I am excited) This is my first job out of the house in 25 years. Tina emoticon

Here is my favorite lotion recipe.
If you have never tried a hand made lotion you will be pleasantly surprised, this stuff is amazing!
I originally got this off the toiletries list years ago. You can change it by substituting different oils or liquids. Just remember when substituting to only substitute solids for solids (cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter etc.) and liquid oils for liquid oils (almond, sunflower, olive, hemp etc.) I like using herb infused oils for the liquid oil portion.
For the water portion (group 2 ingredients) you can use aloe, hydrosols, herbal infusions, water, witch hazel or pretty much anything water based. Just be sure if you substitute to keep the measurements the same.

Basic Lotion recipe

Group 1 ingredients:
3/4 cup fractionated coconut oil or you can use any other liquid oil of choice (Almond, Olive, Grapeseed etc.)
1/3 cup coconut oil
1 tsp Cocoa butter
1/2 oz. beeswax

Group 2 ingredients
1/3 cup aloe gel
1/3 cup witch hazel
1/3 cup distilled water

Melt group 1 ingredients over low heat in a double boiler. Heat just enough to melt....do not overheat.
Pour mixture into a glass measuring cup and cool to room temperature.
Oils should become thick and creamy semisolid

Place group 2 ingredients (also room temperature) into a blender. Turn blender onto highest speed and slowly pour group 1 ingredients into the blender.
When the oil mixture has been added to the water mixture listen to the blender when the blender "coughs" and the cream looks thick turn the blender off. Do not overbeat. If there is a little liquid left hand mix it in.
If you would like you can mix essential oils in while the lotion is still mixing.
I also add vitamin E to the oil portion and GSE to the liquid portion for a preservative.

Have Fun!
