I cook for all of us and generally we sit down at the same time - albeit sometimes a 9pm. I will often fix myself sauteed mushrooms and/or corn on the cob to substitute for something they're having that has more carbs than I want to eat.

My husband has taken on the cooking duties. That is probably one reason that I have gained this 10 pounds. I have never seen anyone that loves to eat more than him unless it is my son.

I agree. When I started preparing meals regularly (instead of worrying about who was going to be home when, or whenever someone would decide they're hungry or not....), I found that it not only gave me more nutritious choices; but, the rest of the family could always use the microwave to warm it up when they were home, if we were on diff schedules. I got so I also started fixing some of my favorite homemade soups (that no one else likes) & freezing them in serving sized portions (ALL for myself!) emoticon

When I prepare food I cook for everyone in the house. What I cook they eat it or make them something else. But they usually eat what I cook. It's always veggies and bake food (meat). I tell them you suppose to eat veggies and when I take them to the doctor he always say the same thing.

Living with my kids their menu's and eating times are very different from mine so I started preparing meals for myself and I think it will help with the weight because I'm controlling what and when I eat instead of stressing what time everybody is going to sit done and have a meal.
