I think the online "to do" list and the kitchen timer are the two best tools for keeping one focused and accomplishing things. We are leaving for NY in two hours due to a death in the family so it's time to pack and finish the kitchen.

Since no one seems to be using this thread, I'm going to use it to make myself accountable for the many, many things I have to do today. So- this morning I plan to clean kitchen, do laundry, and clear tables in family room. After my shower and breakfast, it's time to get out the kitchen timer. Wish me luck!

I make mine into a mental nature hike. :) I start in one place, and so long as the mind skips to other stuff that's nature related it's okay. When we get off the "trail" I just redirect the tour.

The older I get the wider the horizon seems...

Freddy- I figured there was no way that I could meditate because I knew my mind would wander within seconds. So instead of thinking of it as meditation, I think of it as revisiting a calm place. By concentrating on the scenery and how peaceful it looks, I feel the tension in my body start to fade. When I'm aware that my mind has started to skip around I just refocus on the scene in my mind. Give it a try, you might be surprised,

I am sorry but just the thought of trying to meditate makes me anxious. The usual add symptom, I think it's too hard for me to do..I will just fail again!.....I know it's a poor attitude but it's ingrained in me.

I cannot get anything done if I don't do it in the a.m. If I get a late start, I waste the day. I read the meditation goal for this month and like others, was sceptical. However, I tried meditating before I fell asleep and it's amazing. I'm not sitting with my legs crossed, maharaji style, chanting OM. What I have done is picture a scene that is peaceful and just keep saying the word peace or peaceful to myself. If I lose focus and start obsessing about something, I just start again. It's been two nights of the most restful sleep I've had in years!

Wow! do I agree with that. Getting started is a BIG problem for me. I can put off getting a good start in the morning. and when I do that it sets the snails pace for the whole day.

hi All, hope everyone had a good day.
Ever since I found out I had ADD I have made it a habit not to procrastinate. Well today I cleaned my refrigerator then cleaned the oven. It was hard for me to do because it was beautiful outside today and I was stuck in the kitchen. But I really feel good about the work I got done. I took the refrig all apart and washed it down very good. The stove is glistening and the refrig looks like new. I am still sorry for the beautiful day I missed. It's suppose to rain for the next 6 days. But I have two major jobs out of the way. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to get done. how can I complain. When I was a young wife and Mother we had to defrost the freezer which was a total mess. And we had to use that gooey old junk to clean the oven. But today I just washed out the frost free freezer and turned the oven to clean it's self! It was the anticipation of it all that was hard!

Today I was suppose to go to the local high school and find out about getting on their tutoring list (since I am a math tutor). However, after walking then Curves I came home and fell asleep on the couch. I hate it when I do that because it makes me feel like I am lazy.

Yesterday I cleaned house. it was a pleasure since I decluttered the whole place. I wizzed through and had an afternoon to relax.
Today I cleaned one cabinet and intend to do more this afternoon. I am going to focus on pealing and cutting apples for applesauce to put up..

Today was humid and dark and thunderstorm threatening. I do not do well in low air pressure, OA on my knees hurts and I just want to sleep. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and I will be more productive! HAva some decluttering to do!!
