Janet sorry to hear you are struggling with your breathing. I hope things improve for you soon. My husband is asthmatic and has had a real cough for a couple of weeks now, his doctor has prescribed some anti-biotics, and it seems to be a bit better now.

Donna and Sue I hope the house clearances go well for you.

My husband had another fall in the garden and cut his face, ended up with grazes and two shiners, cut his knee, but has done some damage to his other shoulder, so is unable to drive far just now. Hes been for an Xray, and has a scan and physiotherapy to do, although that wont be until the new year.
emoticon
Im not expecting a loss this week. Two Christmas meals and yesterday went to see my friend who has just lost her partner of 33 years, and we share (too much) sparkling wine together. However, Im still hoping for a maintain.

Donna, we know how hard it is clearing a house, get some breaks as well.

Janet, sorry you are having some health problems, hope you feel better soon.

I had done all the running around and organising for mums funeral, which will be next Monday 3rd December. Since Friday I have been really ill, a combination of 4 days at mums bedside, not sleeping and not eating much. Then I caught another cough and cold but had to still chase around in really bad weather. My breathing is still bad, but I think I may be on the mend. Have to have 5 pillows to prop myself up to minimise coughing. Still not eating much, can't believe I haven't eaten much for 2 weeks and not lost any weight!

Clearing a house is a hard job Donna...sounds like you are well organised.

I've been put back on steroids for my breathing...not going very well at the moment though.
My cholesterol results were mega high so have been referred to a Lipid Clinic.

We spent yesterday sorting my MiL's house, more to be done next Saturday though. We have bids on 3 of the items on ebay so they will be taken elsewhere thankfully.
I still have to take some things to charity shops and sort some for recycling! emoticon

Thanks Donna.

Yes, I got the room cleared and now have to arrange for the charity bags to be picked up. That will be a few weeks now, as arranging a funeral now, life is strange!
Just kept one school excerise book from my boys.

Need to take care of my food now, the 5 days I spent at the care home I didn't eat all day and just had a small snack when I got home. Must remember to eat this week as I chase around organising different things.

Sue sorry to hear the news about your Mum, I can only imagine how hard it is. Be kind to yourself and your dh, stay strong together. ps Did you get that room tidied? Were you ruthless with children things and stuff?

Tina I hope things are progressing well with SW, you have to be kind to yourself, I know you were likely to increase with your birthday but it wasn't a big plus thankfully!

We have to stay strong, it is just over 5 weeks till Christmas and at 1lb each that could be 5lb down ready for Christmas munching emoticon

1 gained 2lbs this week, (well, it was my birthday 3 day break) which was less than I thought, so I've committed to losing 2lbs this week and turning it around.
About 4 weeks ago I almost "chucked the towel in" and shared this in group... and the members were so supportive, I even got an invite to a couple's home for dinner. Wasn't that lovely, I was really touched.
Anyway, this helped me to turn it around, got back on track the next day, because I felt accountable to others. I posted all my meals on the group's FB page and lost 2lbs... good result I thought

Lovely to hear from you Tina, sorry to hear about your husband's medical 'issues', hope he is feeling better now.

At least you haven't put on weight if you are the same as 2 years ago. Keep at it, it does work, not sure how but it does and I still swear by it if I do it properly. I am 2 years (almost) at my target weight, well at least when I go to WI once every 4 - 6 weeks ;-) We have to live a little too don't we!

Hi Sparkfriends
I can't see a November thread, so I'm hoping that this is the right place.
Many thanks to you lovely people for my birthday wishes. We took a short break to Christchurch, for you northern dwellers that's on the south coast. We really enjoyed it and the weather stayed dry so that was a real blessing.
It's been a strange couple of months with many changes. While we were away in August, my husband had a problem with his hip and we thought it would be a visit to A & E emoticon .
We managed to get a walking stick and some strong painkillers and he saw his doctor when we returned. Finally he had an injection, and when that finally kicked in, the paid was under control.
emoticon
Then when we went away in September he fell down the caravan step and a couple of weeks ago we thought he had dislocated his shoulder so this time it was A & E and he had ruptured a muscle. So that was a sling for a few weeks, which caused a problem with his walking stick!!
emoticon
All seems to be ok at the moment
Can't say this getting old is a ball of laughs
emoticon
As to me, I'm still plodding on with SW, and have now been at the same weight for 2 years!! So have recently really applied myself and it seems that the weight is beginning to move downwards... not sure that will be the case this week though, after our "jolly".
Good wishes to you all
Tina emoticon

Thanks Janet X I think Slimming World are in the pockets if Iceland so No Other companies are 'good enough!' The meal I had was totally worth 3 syns after all thats similar to 2 Ryvita and Much more filling. 😉

I have antibiotics today after seeing Nurse Practitioner. I don't remember noticing the strange feeling in my hand before but find myself rubbing it and remember doing it before so who knows! It doesn't hurt and so ...

As far as I remember the Aldi meals are about 3 syns each. I've had the vegetarian 3 bean chilli one a couple of times and enjoyed them.
I remember SW getting anxious over this range and the Asda one too because the name could be confusing to members and maybe threaten their empire.

I was going to ask if anyone knew syn values for any of the items in the Slimwell section of Aldi but found this email reply (in my daughter's email account) from Slimming World after I sent them an enquiry.

"At the moment, Aldi SlimWell meals haven't been assigned a Syn value or added to our database. As a Slimming World member, you'll know that Food Optimising is all about filling up on plenty of Free Food - those foods that are the most satisfying as well as low in energy density (that is, low in calories for their weight). When we assign a Syn value to a ready meal, it's based on a number of factors, including the amount of Free Food in the meal, and how satisfying it is. We know from our work on our own range of food in Iceland that ensuring every single ingredient used in a product is completely Free is time-consuming and complicated. While we know that quite a lot of the ingredients in Aldi's SlimWell meals are Free Food, we have not been able to analyse the products in the level of detail we need to establish that every ingredient in the meals is Free and as a result we've agreed with Aldi that we won't add the SlimWell range to our database at this time. Our advice to members is to use the Syn Estimator online, which will give an estimated Syn value for the meals."

So I guess that's what I'm going to have to do! Have any of you done that for any of the Aldi Slimwell products?

I will message later with my good wishes to Sue and Sue 2 - so very glad to see you back here but sorry to hear about your sad news. Hugs and best wishes emoticon

Hi Sue2...hope you're doing well...barring the extra long shift!!

Donna...we haven't had any frost down south yet but I'm sure it will come. Tomorrow is going to be 13 degrees and sunny.
Does the numbness come and go or is it something new for you?

I'm doing pretty well at the moment on my new medication and long may it keep me well.

Hi all

Things still hard here, mum on end of life care and more bad days than good now. Only been out of bed 2 mornings out of the last 7 days. Hoping she can hang on for her 90th on 23 December, she isn't in pain, apart from odd times. She is also completely blind now, bless her.

Trying hard to stick to plan, have lost 4lbs this month which is amazing as eating out a lot more with visiting.

Turned very cold, hoping no snow around 19th of November as I have to get a taxi to take dad to his prostate cancer appointment.

Hubby was on nights so had to do 13 hour shift on Saturday instead of 12!

Keep smiling xx

I agree Janet I certainly didn't get the extra hour in bed! Still waking up at same time as I did before and that's not great.

Its chilly here and I think last night's frost has possibly nipped the flowers! That will be sad but as you say Janet it is nearly November!

Life is really good here but I have some numbness on my left hand and that has reminded me that I have a 'condition' which I normally can ignore (head in sand) feeling! emoticon emoticon

How we all doing? We're almost into November...this year has flown past.

I weighed the last 2 weeks, which could be some kind of record for me!! Thankfully still in target.

Weather's getting colder now down south....

Anybody else not like the clocks changing last night? Really seems to mess with me for a couple of days.

Thanks Donna...just remedial work...2 more appointments.

I know you did go to group and weighed in very well....amazing, you're really doing well with keeping in that target range.

Re the soup...mines only a can of Morrisons pea & mint soup...I'm not a soup fan but it was quick at the time. But it does taste very nice.

I couldn't go to group because I really wasn't well enough.
Next Friday is my last week (8th) for weighing in. I'm either going to up my target weight again by 3lbs or take a break? These meds don't like my system...make me constipated which is awful re weight loss.
I'm also due to see the audiologist at 8.45am on Friday morning...I may get to group by 10am or even sit and wait to weigh in at the 2nd session... Sounds like I've made a decision doesn't it!! We all know what happens if we give up....

Hope the Dentist went well today Janet.

I am hoping to go to club and texted the new leader to check the starting time and told her I was just going to Weigh and Go tonight, (but as its only been 3 weeks I am happy). My girl is 17 next Monday.

Tony and I are also going out to watch football at our friends house again, hope we win! ;-)

Not much nearer to making that Pea and Ham soup I had planned to do today, well except for the fact I have got the ham out of the freezer and bought the Peas ;-). May get Tony to help me later.

I'm still taking the abs...breathing's not very good really. I think I've been over doing things...went out the last two days walking, Joseph's idea...and I'm just so tired.
I'm going to group tomorrow mostly to support my friend who has to weigh in, it's her 8th week, it's my 6th so still have a little time yet. Afterwards I'm meeting a friend for lunch and will try not to walk too much!!
I think our weather is changing tomorrow and going cooler...no sign of rain though.

Donna that is terribly sad about your sil's husband....hopefully it will be something that can be perfectly managed with meds... We've been through a lot of stuff re heart etc with Joseph too.
That's nice that Chloe can help out some with her grandmother too.

Glad you're getting a flu vac....I did some research and it said as long as you don't have a fever you can have the jab...even being on abs. Well I'm not coming off them so it would be an solution for me.

Your group has certainly changed. I have noticed the push to set weekly weight loss targets but some members aren't keen so don't. I agree...without the internet sw would be hard. We have a fb team but some members don't seem to know even how to use the calculators or find out the syn values....

Glad you had a great holiday Janet, hope you are starting to feel better after the course of ABs.

I can't imagine having another holiday in near future as my SiL's hubbie had a heart scare whilst we were away and is having more tests now so she is obviously too stressed to consider our future too! We were very disappointed she never told us we could book for next year while we were at Butlins but didn't tell us why, when we book on site it costs 40% less so is REALLY worth it. We shall see! A night away would be good but we can cope without it. We are having later nights where Chloe puts my MiL to bed so that makes us feel like 'adults' again.

I am entitled to a free Flu Vacine and have booked it for Saturday morning.

I went to aqua aerobics today which was fab.

The weather was nice here so I chose to change my bed and its always nice with fresh bedding isn't it ;-)

I haven't been to WI for a couple of weeks but then I was at target and thought the new Consultant seemed 'nice' but its not the same as the last one as you really have to 'do the work' yourself and look for the info on the website where Nic used to spoon feed us a little more which I liked, apart from Magazines how can people get ideas if they don't have the Internet! ;-)

Thanks for posting the sw info Donna...I've seen it posted and the comments from unhappy members...I'm sure it will soon blow over.

You did really well to be weighing in after your 10 days away!! emoticon

I had a lovely time with temps of 33+ degrees. We met old friend, walking and lots of swimming in the sea and sitting in the sun.
The hotel was really lovely and the food...hence the +5 gain, Joseph managed +6 and is not happy!!
Downside was I got a cold and had to see a doctor to check about starting my abs...she found the start of a chest infection. Unfortunately that course hasn't done much. I saw the GP this morning and now I have to take 14days of strong abs... Also means I can't get my flu vac yet either.

How's everyone else doing?

From the Slimming World web site

Free Food changes to flavoured yogurts, instant mash and tinned pasta

Our Nutrition and Food teams here at Slimming World regularly review the latest scientific and nutrition research, food trends and products to make sure Food Optimising stays bang up to date and in line with current guidance, so that you achieve the very best weight loss results in the very healthiest way.

Following a full review over the last 12 months and based on the latest nutrition data as well as feedback from members and Consultants about the potential impact of some food products on members’ weight losses, we’ve made some changes to the following:

Vegan products – new Free and Healthy Extra options have been added
Fat-free yogurts – more plain varieties have become Free, and all flavoured varieties now have a small Syn value
Instant mashed potato – all varieties now have a Syn value
Canned pasta shapes in tomato sauce – all varieties now have a Syn value

1. It’s good news for our vegan members – new Free and Healthy Extra options have been added

2. Fat-free yogurts – all flavoured varieties now have a small Syn value
Using the very latest information on the average protein, carbohydrate, fat, sugar and calorie content of thousands of everyday foods* together with the rapidly growing number of brands, products and flavours of yogurt available in every supermarket, our Nutrition and Food teams have created a much more robust way of categorising yogurt. That means we can now give product-specific Free Food allowances to the various types of yogurt (such as Greek, skyr, dairy-free, quark yogurts, protein yogurts and more) – based on their specific energy densities and how filling they are.

This has led to new varieties being added to our basic Free Food yogurt list, which now looks like this:

Low-Syn yogurts

No-added-sugar yogurts will be around ½ Syn per 100g and yogurts with added sugar will be around 1 Syn per 100g, which means:

a 125g pot of Danone Activia 0% fat will be ½ Syn
a 175g pot of Mullerlight will be 1 Syn
The good news for flavoured-yogurt lovers is that they’re still very low in Syns! And if you’re currently losing weight comfortably while enjoying several yogurts a day, you’ll be sure to continue to lose weight beautifully.

3. Instant mashed potato – changed to 3½ Syns per 100g made up
As well as having less filling power than mash made with fresh potatoes, instant mash has less fibre and potassium and a lower concentration of some B vitamins. Instant mash is also often used to ‘tweak’ Food Optimising – being used as a coating, a thickener, a flour substitute etc. So to protect members’ weight losses, it will now have a Syn value of 3½ Syns per 100g made up.

4. Canned pasta shapes in tomato sauce – changed to ½ Syn per 100g
Unlike dried pasta cooked at home, canned pasta is softer, takes little or no chewing (important to help us feel full) and generally contains a lot more sauce (water) than pasta. To help protect members’ weight losses, canned pasta shapes in tomato sauce are no longer a Free Food. The average Syn value is now ½ Syn per 100g.

Sorry I have been a little lazy and not posted on here recently. Yes I had a lovely 10 days away and last Tuesday I had recovered my eating enough to go to WI again and was nicely at target, though had put on 1.5lbs was still within the range. I met the new Consultant and she seemed nice but I can understand what others say about the new SW way, where C's talk to everyone looking at their electronic device and trying to get everyone to set a target of what they would like to lose by next WI. I will not go any more frequently than every 4 weeks but I am happy to continue going to this session.

I hope Janet is enjoying her holiday, have seen photos on one of the other social media and apart from being dead jealous as its raining here and it looks lovely and sunny there, I am of course wishing her well!

Sue's, hope you are well too!

I am doing the Memory Walk for Alzheimers in Blackpool with my hubbie, dd and SiL today and the forecast is 'WET' but we won't melt and its a good cause! emoticon (okay too windy for brollies)

emoticon Donna...so happy you had a great time away with your family. It sounds as if you've done pretty well scales wise!

Yes I'm getting closer now to my holiday...one week Saturday. Monday is Matt's birthday so will be some cake around. And I have a sw meal out next Weds... I would like to weigh before I go but may not be possible...
Having a blood test & ECG tomorrow.

emoticon Sue for losing the 2lb holiday gain.

Surprisingly the hot weather is really good for my poorly lungs...it's the damp and wet that seem to upset me. But I know a lot of people like your dad Sue that don't do well during the heat.
I'm blessed that all my family live here in Hastings. My two are just 5 mins away....
I think the ukulele is an up and coming instrument for all ages to have a go at.

Well...I'm still waiting to get to the right weight zone to weigh in...this is my last week too! Taking the last course of steroids & abs have really messed me up, but what can you do?

Donna...excited for you!! emoticon

Morning all, internet a bit hit and miss this week.
Lost my 2lb gained on holiday, so back to losing this week hopefully.

We have rain today, but just a blip for a day I think, we are staying in today anyway.

Donna soon be holidays for you, a well earned break, enjoy

Janet, hang in there with your health, the hot weather doesn't help with breathing, dad did 40 years down the pit and his asthma is always worse in hot weather.

Nice for you to have a good visit and another one to look forward to.

My younger son and our grandaughter play the ukelele, although not heard them for a while.

Have a great week everyone

Sue, as Donna said...that was great to only have a 2lb gain...you'll shift that in a thrice.
Hope that blood test comes back with better. How was the food & drink festival?

Donna...you must be getting really excited for your holiday...not long now.
I know you'll enjoy your consultant's leaving party, you'll miss her too but people do move on.

Off to read your blog!!

I'm still managing to hold it together re health, although the dry cough is still troubling.
Yesterday was the twins 13th birthday...what a milestone for them!! We had a lovely afternoon together and watched Matt playing in a ukulele group for an hour. Afterwards we went for a meal together.
Then on Monday Sarah and family flew off to Australia to visit Joel & Lauren for 3 weeks. When they return home J & L will be coming too.

The weather here has been glorious so we've spent many days on the beach enjoying the sun and sea swimming. Unfortunately...it's about to break up now...

I've now finished my 6 week pulmonary rehab course and what an informative time it's been too. I've made some new friends that I hope to see at the monthly Breathe Easy group meetings.
I've got to do some hard work to get to a decent weight to weigh in...two meals out this week has not helped...

Hi everyone, back from 9 days in Cornwall, and only gained 2lbs, happy with that.

Had another blood test for the chronic kidney disease and it came back that the sample was unusable as she hadn't taken enough, so I have to go next Tuesday for another test!

Loved our holiday and it did us so much good to get away, but it's lovely to be home now.

Hubby got a few more days off before he goes back to work next Monday night.
We are going to Chesterfield food and drink festival in the park on Saturday, so hoping to find some interesting foods to try.

We have to try to keep positive with our conditions don't we, I am lucky with my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis last year, so long as I don't think too hard about what 'could happen' in the future I am celebrating that right now I am doing okay and so keep doing my exercises whilst I can!

Love the holiday talk it has made me smile! emoticon emoticon emoticon Going to Butlins at Skegness is like 'going home' for us as we've been there for years! Saw 'Hi de Hi' on UK Gold channel yesterday and ok so modern Butlins is nothing like that but I used to like the show when I was a child, years ago!

I am going to Skegness Butlilns again in August, about 4 weeks and can't wait! My SiL will move it to look after my MiL (her Mum) and she will get a truer picture of 'how much fun it can be!', harder for her though as its not her house! We deserve a break though and are looking forward to it as a family.

Sue enjoy your holiday and hope the weather keeps kind for you. Its cooler here this week but not unwelcome to be a little cooler! ;-)

We go to Cornwall on Friday for 9 days, 2 more sleeps.
Had my B12 jab on Monday, so bit more awake. I also had my annual blood tests, today I had a letter asking me to make a follow up appointment as there are a few things wrong. Rang, expecting to get a date after the holiday, but am going this afternoon!!

Thankfully after one week I seem to have recovered from the lung infection. It really was a case of just resting plenty which is hard when you're used to doing plenty of walking.

Hoping to go to group this week but not planning on weighing...

How's everyone else doing?

Yes Janet things have moved along in a much more positive way. I went to class last night and REALLY enjoyed it, I had fun talking to friends there. Even better I weighed in as it was 6 weeks on Thursday that I last did so and I am pleased to report I was 1lb down and 0.5lbs under target so whatever I was doing has worked! Need to stay strong and not overeat on the day after WI as the old me used to! ;-) There has been no strange eating, mostly just staying on plan with the notable increase in water drank and no chocolate or diet coke!

Janet I hope you feel better soon, knowing you have been suffering a little from other sources!

Hope you and everyone else is well, hugs xxx emoticon emoticon emoticon

That will be a big change with a new consultant....have you met the new one yet?

The lovely weather seems set to continue, well here anyway.

Last week we celebrated our 24th anniversary and three days later Joseph's birthday...also a night away too. Had a wonderful time but 5lbs to deal with...although it's slowly coming off now.
Hopefully I'll try and weigh in - in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your support Janet, I had great intentions for my weekend and although it was FANTASTIC, I did drink lots and although I ate hotdogs and shared my hubbies chips both days I only had a little pizza on the Saturday after I got home! It was SO HOT but luckily suncream worked!

Exciting to be going to the beach! Earlier this week I tried to not say I was 'fed up of this heat' but that 'I would be sad when I can't dry my washing outside anymore', trying to make it a positive thing this crazy heat! No like it this long! emoticon

I was really pleased with myself today as I started a small square of dairy milk and then remembered that I am not eating chocolate so took it out of my mouth and gave it to my MiL (it was only a little wet ;-)!) (only since meeting my pal on Monday) but I haven't had diet coke or chocolate since that and I am determined right now! Also refused freshly cooked garlic bread and chips tonight. Really proud so far! ;-)

Hoping to go to club on Tuesday, I am determined at the moment! Again I am planning things Janet but will carry them out this week, think its 6 weeks since WI so I really have to go! My consultant is also retiring in a month so I am gonna be at her last session then too. emoticon

I can imagine the heat is hard for your mil...I'm sure it won't last too long though!!

Been a nice 'onthebeach' day! Packed us some lunch and off we went. Later this evening we went out for a 45 min walk...quite fast too.

I had a lovely BBQ on Sunday night so ALL my planning went out of the window again sadly! So scales were not as good as I wanted them to be! Gonna try to avoid chocolate again.

Donna, I know I said it before but glad you went to the dentist...it will be good when the work is done and you can just have regular check ups. As you know, I'm not very brave either!!

I always have my fair share of syns a day but we have to do whatever works for us individually.

Thanks Donna, have been okay, done between 8-11. My weigh in is on Tuesday, so we will see.

Tesco just delivered my shop, so lots of free foods in fridge, freezer and cupboards. emoticon

In a good place now, just buddied up with Sue, we are aiming for 10% off by Christmas emoticon

I still try to stick to 70 a week or 10 a day but some use up to15 a day. For me its best to keep some kind of diary but when I'm being Synful I lose my pen - ha ha! We all know the plan works if we do it properly, at least 90%. emoticon emoticon

Ooh Donna, I hate the dentist. Good you have no pain and it's " just" fillings.
I went last month for my check up and half of a back tooth had fallen out. No pain, they said we can't take the rest out in case it crumbles and we can't get it all. So they sent me to a BUPA dentist who has all the equipment. They had to cut what was left into 3 pieces, but it came out okay after that. Luckily no pain at all.
Have to go back on 3rd July for hygienist appointment, yay!

Pretty much on plan, the only thing I can't find on the online site, is how many syns I can have. How many please?

Have a good Sunday, weather looks great, and hubby even has a day off!

Thats a plan Sue lose a little before the holiday, I like that idea! emoticon (no real scone pic)

Great to see you here as well Sue2. You are right we do have to keep on Starting again if that's what we need!

Not sure if I said but despite worrying beforehand my dentist trip was actually okay and I have to go back in 3 weeks for 4 fillings. Luckily I don't have any pain yet! The dentist did ask if I drank a lot off fizzy pop and I thought actually Yes I do diet stuff but never thought maybe I should restrict my consumption and only have it with spirits and drink more water or Vimto.

We have almost 4 weeks until we go to Cornwall, would like to lose half a stone by then, even if a cream tea puts it back on, lol

emoticon Sue, in fact Welcome Home! You are always welcome here. Love your new name! Good to break from the old! Good to be back to SW though as it does work when we let it, we all know it can have 'challenging' moments esp Christmas but we can do it! emoticon

emoticon Janet for your WI.

I went to the dentist yesterday and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, 4/5 fillings and an xray needed (so they may find more then) on 16th July. A relief that I don't have pain yet! emoticon

My daughter finished her exams on Thursday and was delighted and relieved.

emoticon been here emoticon now Sue!!

Group was good this morning. I decided to weigh, I knew it would be a gain because last time I was right at the bottom of my new (old) target range. So it was a 2lb gain...I'm good with that!!

Hope we all get the promised good weather to come for the next couple of weeks...I just wish our NE wind would change direction!!!

Hello all, am back doing SW but online only. Really need to get back on track.

I have been away from Spark about a year, would have come back sooner, but one "friend" emailed me and said people were sick to death of me coming and going!
Finally decided I don't care what she said, I need help from SW and Spark.

For those who may remember me, I am Sue from Matlock, and was 65 last Saturday, went out for a family meal and an early Fathers Day as well.

Back to my highest weight and struggling to get back into it, one day at a time.

Glad you had a lovely time away Donna. I like Matalan too!! Great you've got some lovely new clothes...you deserve everyone of them.

I haven't weighed at group for a couple of weeks...I couldn't go last week because I had to see my consultant at the hospital. It was a pretty good consultation, she tweaked my meds to try and improve my quality of life.
We went to the beach yesterday and today for a while...very relaxing, good to be retired.

Just a quick note here. I have had a lovely night away yesterday in Southport Merseyside and plan to blog sometime soon. There is a photo of the view from my window on my Spark page. My dh and I had a wonderful day (just the two of us) on Saturday, we arrived early(ish), leaving home at 10.15am and it doesn't take that long to get to Southport.

My darling took me to Matalan (clothes shop) which is near where we were staying and he spent a fortune on some clothes for me which were all lovely. He has such great taste. I didn't find it too hard in the Changing Rooms and overall liked what I saw in the mirror, okay so I look older than I did last year but overall think I look okay.

Hope the weather stayed good for your nice long walk.

Donna...you're doing really well. It's hard staying in target... Looking forward to reading your post...
My gum is still swollen but doing better than a few days ago...thanks Tina & Donna for asking.

Walked a lot today. Weather wasn't good and there was a huge downpour...while I was in the shopping centre...Joseph had gone to another store and got very wet !! We caught the bus home...it's not very far but were surprised to see it hadn't rained there at all.
Two hospitals tomorrow....

Glad you had a good holiday Tina, don't worry about the pound on this week, just get right back on it! emoticon I went to class on Tuesday and will later post the reminders I got from my consultant!

I went to WI last Thursday and was pleased to be on target and only 0.5lbs over the target weight I had set myself. (it had been 6 weeks) Its not easy though and I feel it hasn't stopped me overeating sometimes. :-( emoticon I need to stop letting myself down.

Janet I hope your mouth is feeling a little better.

Not such a good result for me this week, I gained one pound. I was a bit surprised as I thought I'd been on plan.
I rather shot myself in the foot at group by making a commitment not to get on the scales at home all week (a real challenge for me!) and also to complete a food diary. So watch this space.
I hope your mouth problem is improving Janet, I know that can be really uncomfortable.
Off tomorrow for my weekly 4.5 mile walk... Hope the sun shines.
Have a lovely week

Welcome back Tina....and well done for the STS...no mean feat after enjoying a lovely holiday.
That is lovey news for your husband...I really hope his sons stay in contact now; life is too short.

Still struggling with this mouth issue... I went to group yesterday but not to weigh and then off to catch the train to Eastbourne to meet my friend for lunch.
Weather has been lovely today...hopefully it will continue, as we're in June.
Off to Brighton on Monday for a get together with Joseph's family. His brother & sil are visiting from SF.

We spent a lovely week in Suffolk, we particularly enjoyed Flatford. It was lovely to actually see where John Constable painted his masterpieces. Also Lavenham was a delightful place with many 15th century buildings well preserved. A real treat.
My husband has strained a ligament in his hip, so walking was limited, I did manage to talk him into a walking stick which seems to be helping.
emoticon
My husband has recently heard from his two sons, they haven't been in contact for 22 years. We had a lovely meeting with the youngest, but his older son is living in Scotland... he had planned to travel south to meet up over the bank holiday w/e, sadly we were on holiday.
Hopefully that will happen sometime soon.
emoticon
I weighed this week and after my week away, I had maintained... so I was happy with that!!

emoticon Donna and anyone else passing by!

Glad you're enjoying the weather, it's been lovely down here too today.
I agree, sometimes it's hard to focus on plan every day, every day. I know you'll enjoy half term with your children. My grandsons are off this week too.

Yes I was glad to have the tooth extracted, even so the abs made me really sick and I feel a bit of a mess at the moment. Painful chin, sore jaws from opening the mouth and sicky that I don't really want to eat much.

Friday I went to group to weigh. I needed to adjust my target range lower, as it was last October. I have considered changing it for a month. I lost 2lbs so had to change it.

Enjoy the bank holiday w/e everyone.

I am (mostly) enjoying this weather, its amazing to get so much washing dried outside. We had one cool day recently and that was super but I am enjoying the breeze now. emoticon

I have been on Spark regularly but have been lazy posting here, sorry friends. I haven't been very true to our plan either lately sadly. emoticon

I will get back to it soon! emoticon .

My children are on half term and my dd in middle of her GCSEs so nice to have a rest from that stress.

Hope those who have had a holiday have enjoyed it and Janet hope you are feeling better without thst horrid tooth. I know I need an appt too soon but not brave enough to make the call, no pain yet so ....

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. Hope things got better weatherwise Jude! We have been very blessed weather-wise, hope you have enjoyed it. I love drying washing outside emoticon .

Great to hear you have a holiday booked next week Tina and great that you are keeping on with plan emoticon , know you usually walk alot on holiday too don't you. Have a great time.

I had a night away on Friday with my hubbie and a wonderful meal, he had Seabass and I had Rib Eye Steak and we shared, both delicious. I didn't sleep very well which was a shame as I didn't have to get up with my Mum in Law but I was SO EXCITED and nervous.
With my Sister in Law, daughter I had arranged a Surprise 50th Party for my husband on the Saturday. It all went really well and although I almost NEVER keep a secret from him as my girl said it wasn't a secret but a SURPRISE! He loved having the special friends there and we were especially lucky with the weather. His best pal gave him a box of 50 beers emoticon . Too much cake and treat food for me but hoping to go to club next Tuesday. Did get a new magazine this week adn am enjoying reading it cover to cover. emoticon

I was so pleased I settled on my raspberry dish for group this evening... it was lovely. They think I should do "meals on wheels... SW style"

No a great result on the scales - gained 1lb.

Our weather's been lovely for the last couple of day, and we're off to Suffolk next Tuesday for a week. We'll be in Constable country, so hoping to get some decent walking in.

Hiya everyone, Florida calling! It's great to know that you are having the rain weather again. It's been atrocious weather here and we've only had a couple of truly really sunny days so far.
I'm dreading the scales when I get back although we'll both be back on track as soon as we land. Three full days left so we're going to make the most of it.
Well done on your weight losses and enjoy your Royal Wedding Taster Sessions.
I'll be back in touch soon.

We're doing the Royal Wedding taster on Tuesday. I thought I would take a raspberry dessert, made with Muller light and sugar free jelly, with Muller Greek raspberry yogurt as a topping and of course, decorated with raspberries.

I lost 2lbs last week, but had gained 3.5 while on holiday in Dorset. Overall I'm down by 6.5lbs since joining the group at the beginning of the year, not gr8, but I guess it is a loss.I still have such a lot to lose

We're away again on 22nd May to Suffolk (John Constable country) so really hoping for dry weather then.

How are we all doing?
The weather's so different to the May Day holiday last week. We've got rainy weather back again!!!

I went to group as usual on Friday....my consultant had been on a fresher training so was absolutely buzzing with new ideas for the group.
In light of the royal wedding next weekend we're been asked to bring some low syn nibbles and the consultant will make some sw pimms etc. Should be a good session.
