It's funny Cathy... I can have it in condiments, but if I eat a cookie or a piece of candy, I obsess all day about it. It drives me crazy. I just got some mejdool dates, which are sweet and help when I am hungry for something... no, craving something sweet. I have gotten a little off track lately and know that is my biggest downfall.

Portion control works best for me. Also, I weigh each day to make sure I am not over.

Portion control is key for me too! And NO white sugar/flour ... I crave more and more if I have it.

Tracking on here and using paper again as well. Makes me more accountable for my food choices.

I do better too when I have the day planned out AND written down. I'm doing my tracking in a paper journal right now and I'd much rather eat what I wrote down than strike through or erase.

Great idea, Nell. I know how I can use that on my electronic list. I'll add another list for "next time". emoticon

My Planner/Tracker is the key, but it's on paper. I've never made the shopping list on the phone transition. I carry my steno book with my menus and shopping lists, and when I see something at the store that I HAVE to buy, I'll write it on the next page for the next time I"m in the store. Of course, by that time the urge has passed and I'll cross it off. It seems like a silly exercise, but it has worked for me. I like seeing stuff crossed off, wondering with amusement, "What was I thinking?"

For me it HAS to be tracking and each week having my food all planned out. I NEVER go grocery shopping when I'm hungry, AND...on Friday when I have my TOPS meeting and weigh in, I always pack something I can eat right after the meeting, keeps me from falling into that traps of, ''well I've weighed in, so its a whole week before I have to weigh in again." This has kept me from hitting the drive thru before my 30 mile trip home.

What's your best tip to help lose weight/maintain?

Mine is ... I have a shopping list app on my phone that I use for my grocery lists. I put my trigger foods on there in a category that drops them to the bottom of the list and keeps them together. I've written a note that reads "No No No!" on each of them. A continual reminder when I'm in the store, my resolve is weak, and I even look at these items to STOP and leave them in the store. It's been working GREAT for me!
