Whats on your Keystone State bucket list?

I'd like to spend time in Philadelphia to see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell as well as all the other sites there.
I'd like to spend a few weekends at a B&B in Gettysburg, Bedford Village and explore the Braddock Trail.
Betcha couldn't tell I am a bit of a history nut!

My family is from Philly area. My grandfather worked at the Franklin Institute and that is where he met Albert Einstein so it has a special meaning for me.

I hiked at Ricketts Glen a few years ago -- did the whole 7 mile trail and saw the beautiful waterfalls. I highly recommend the trip! In fact, getting fit enough to go back and hike it again is on my bucket list.

I don't know what a bucket list is, but I gather from the responses that it's going somewhere and doing something. I see someone mentioned the McClure bean soup event. And the Hyner. I've learned that there's a race there, and I intend to participate walking next year.

I live near Gettysburg. So I'm there half the week when I'm not working. I ride my horse on the trails there pretty frequently. Since I am a horse-y person, I'd like to suggest to people visiting Gettysburg to check out going on a horse tour of the battlefield. A couple of businesses do the tours, and I can recommend one in particular if anyone asks me. They offer rides with a licensed battlefield guide to give you the history of the area you ride through or you can just ride with a wrangler/s and enjoy the scenery and the horses.

Now that I've gotten my Gettysburg advertisement out of the way- I want to go to Ricketts Glen for hiking and probably camping. I want to see all of the pretty waterfalls!

I love Gettysburg! Did a ghost thing at the Farnsworth in March, it was great. Might check out Mark Nesbitt's, I've read some of his books. I've had some interesting experiences, particularily during one of my five visits, that pretty well convinced me of the existence of ghosts. Lots of things to do in Gettysburg, and it's emotional to imagine what happened on those fields nearly 150 years ago.

On my list, I want to hike the entire Appalachian (or however you spell it..hehe) Trail in PA.

If you do go to do a ghost tour in Gettysburg, you may want to check out the one by Mark Nesbitt. He has written a bunch of books on the topic and used to be a ranger in the park. His office is even in one of the historically haunted buildings in Gettysburg. Fun part is to stay in the park until around closing which is 9pm. You go in the fall or winter, it gets dark early and you can be in some of the more interesting places in the park. Highly recommend it.

I would love to take a ghost tour in Gettysburg...

Also I want to hike Mt. Nittany... if that is all possible? I live in the State College area. :)

ringing rocks........... a friend showed me pics last year.......... you take a hammer and hit it on these rocks to create ringing sounds.......... they are volcanic or something.

Grand Canyon of Pa??I have to check that out, never heard of it,no canyons around here!! But I'm real close to the city. In Bensalem, Bucks County.

Did you ever do the Mule pulled boats in New Hope ,Pa. that's a cool trip.

The Grand Canyon of pA is in my neck of the woods - I use to live 20 minutes from there and it is beautiful. I will have to give this some thought - right now it is to take my son to the water park in Pittsburgh!! He is going to the zoo there on Wednesday - we were tere a couple of years ago and it is awesome!!

CMC - I ran Steamtown last fall for my first full marathon, and it was awesome! It is extremely well run, and the weather was perfect, I honestly could not have had a better first marathon experience. I would recommend it to anyone, especially as a first one.

Anyway, as for me, I want to do the Philly marathon, since that's where I grew up. I'd also like to see The Grand Canyon of PA sometime. Not sure exactly where it is, but I know its up North there somewhere :)

The Steamtown marathon in October 2011, Scranton, PA ...already registered and training..... "gulp"!!!

Gettysburg would be nice, historic! i just got to see a Civil war reenactment at nshaminy park, pa. it was fantastic.it was my second time going! I have heard that from a friend, that Body Works was fantastic! I want to go ice skating at Penns Landing! Also ride the duck boats there! I want to see first hand the view of the city at night from one of those million dollar Philadelphia city condos!! I have to many thing on my bucket list! I need to hit the lottery to be able to do them All!

! love to visit the Museums, and many exhibits in Philadelphia City. Would love to see the Body Works Exhibit, and Cirque Du Soleil ( this is a biggy for me) this year! Also, I want to take the New Hope train excursion. There's a lot more..but I will save that for my next post!
