I'm finding that more and more restaurants offer vegetarian options like veggie burgers or pasta primavera.

Sushi nom nom. I love sushi, I used to get it for dinner every Wednesday but now it's just occasionally since I'm trying to save on money.

Indian Restaurants tend to have a good vegetarian selection on their menus but I love Butter Chicken.

Mexican - bean burritos, spinach & cheese enchiladas, cheese stuffed peppers, salsa, cheese dip, guacamole dip, corn chips, and lot's more stuff.

I'm not a pasta fan but there are lots of options in the Italian world too!

Bean burgers, Mushroom burgers when you can find them!

Soup and Salad meal's.

Indian food addict here; I just have to stay away from the breads (allergic to wheat, especially pasta) but there's still plenty to eat. I LOVE dairy so the fresh cheese (paneer), yogurt, and milk in the Indian dishes are all good--vegetarian in India is understood to mean lactovegetarian.
That rice pudding is called kheer and isn't that hard to make so if you miss that look up an online recipe and go for it. I've noticed that every culture that uses rice and dairy has some form of rice pudding OR even a Thai version based on coconut milk.
One of the reasons I kept seafood on the menu is that most vegetarian offerings elsewhere feature pasta so that's out. Greek I can usually get fish/shrimp plus potatoes or rice; I just give the pitas to my husband and avoid (sob) my favorite dessert that uses the same form of wheat as the pasta--two bites and I totally stuff up so I usually get their rice pudding instead. We love our little local Greek place; I refuse to avoid their otherwise delicious lentil soup just b/c I'm sure the broth is meat-based.
Relax and enjoy, wherever you are.

The Hari Krishnas used to have vegetarian restaurants apparently with a very nice rice-pudding dessert. There are a few Lentil-As-Anything restaurants in Australia, where the meals are vegetarian & people pay, just what they think is a fair price. Apart from this, many restaurants now include a few vegetarian dishes.

We all know eating in restaurants is rarely optimal, dietarily speaking. But, dining socially with friends and family can be great for our mental health and overall well-being.

What are your favorite vegetarian options when dining out?

If I am with an amenable group, my first choice is always sushi. Most sushi restaurants have a nice variety of veggie rolls.

My next choice would be Indian. Often Indian buffets have more vegetarian options than meat options. But, many have dairy, so if dairy is an issue ordering off the menu will likely be a better idea.

Mexican restaurants usually have plenty of vegetarian dishes, but they are often very high in calories and empty carbs (as well as wheat and dairy). But, I have made my own taco salad by ordering a garden salad, a side of refried beans (without cheese), and an order of guacamole. Layer the beans and guac on the salad and top with salsa. Yum!
