I like tomatoes, but I'm running out of things to do with them :) A friend has given us so many tomatoes from her garden. I should probably give some away because I don't think I can use them all before they spoil.

Tomatoes.

I only do tomatoes that I 1) home grow (limited, due to shade); 2) buy at farmer's markets; or 3) buy at roadside farmstands.

I never can wait for tomato season! But it is a summer (early fall) only food for me.

Working on healthy: Nutritious, sustainable, day to day, low carb-ish living. AND getting out and about and exercising... Yep, better do that!

That's a hard one. Normally I would say our fresh picked blueberries/raspberries/strawberries. However the green beans fresh from my neighbor's garden are so good right now. Sure makes me sad that I never got my garden going this year. I did not even plan lettuce or tomatoes. Lucky for me my neighbor has 2 p-patches, and with a little volunteer work helping out, I reap the rewards.

I love all the local fresh fruits and veggies!.....This week it's cherries- ate a whole pound of them yesterday- oops!
Wish the tomatoes would hurry up and ripen!

Not exactly summer- only, but fresh summer beets. That's what I ate for supper tonight - a big bowl of beets with a little butter and salt. Mmmmmm.

Blueberries from the local you-pick farm -- you reach into the bushes there and come out with a huge handful of perfect, plump berries. My hubby and I can go through four pounds in a week, lol. And REAL TOMATOES. The farms around here sell five or six different heirloom varieties at least, and they're just so delicious it's unreal. I haven't eaten an out of season fresh tomato in two years because nothing can compare to the beauties we get in August.

Another vote for watermelon, fresh summer berries from the farmer's markets - but I can't wait for stone fruit hybrid season (plums, nectarines, pluots, plumcots, apriums, yummy yum yum!).

They finally started getting butter & sugar corn out here in the last couple of years. It's my favorite kind of corn!

Watermelon! Nothing better on a hot Texas afternoon than sitting under a tree eating watermelon.

I'll start the list with:

sweet corn
watermelon
fresh strawberries
root-beer or strawberry floats (yes, you could have them year-round, but for some reason, I only do in the summer)
