No problem, NGTOWL. We all have the right to believe in what is best for us. I like how you stick to your believes, no one has the right to judge you on them. I also think it's okay to let people know why you disagree with something as long as it doesn't go to far. I'm not one to debate (often), it's to close to seeming like a fight. At that point it's time to change the subject.

I have been working towards decreasing my meat consumption, but it is not because of animal souls. I actually believe it is the basis that things have feelings ( even plants have plant hormones that respond with a positive or negative tropism.(growth direction) so I feel that it is best for me to focus on all living things and be efficient in my use of the planet and only take for myself that that i need to keep going. ( well that is my aim anyway)

No problem, but everybody believes what they believe, I guess that is the point.

Hi guys. I didn't mean to cause a ruckus about the animals not having souls. While I do agree that they suffer needlessly, and they do have feelings, I still do not think they have souls. Yes while looking in their eyes you see feelings, but we still 'humanize' them too much. No where in the bible does it say that the animals that we were given for food have souls; if they did why would we have been given them to eat? Don't want to stir things up , but this is what I believe.

I agree with you Jeannie. Animals do have souls. I think animals suffer so needlessly.

I've tried it, but I'm always borderline or anemic and I hate iron pills. It's more of a taste thing for me then animal rights thing. Plus I like fish and I would have a hard time giving up chicken too. Now I would never wear fur, leather is hardly worn, and no ivory products ever.

I disagree with NGTOWL117, I do believe animals have souls. All you have to do is look into their eyes and you can see it.

I love animals but they were not put on this earth just to be. We humanize animals way too much. They have no soul and were put here to eat. I do not have anything against vegetarians or vegans, but it is not in my future. If animals were not eaten there would be so much disease and overpopulation that it would change the way we, as humans, live.

I tried a vegetarian diet and was successful at following it for about a year, but I was always tired. I was not using an online diet tracker, but I think I just wasn't doing a good job at getting a balanced diet with enough protein. I appreciate vegetarian and vegan diets and I try to have one meatless dinner a week (such as cornbread & beans etc) but when I returned to eating meat, I felt much better.

We do make it a habit to check labels and buy products that are not tested on animals. We also use cleaning products that are safe for the environment such as Seventh Generation, Mrs. Meyers, etc. They're more expensive, so in turn, we are frugal with them.
