thanks so much for both of your replies. I did go to the natural medicine doctor and I am going to stay on the birth control for the time being until I get my iron levels up and also taking iodine now, which I am very low in. Iodine is needed for the thyroid as well as the ovaries and so hopefully once I get these levels where they should be, I will be able to try stopping the birth control. Thanks again and I wish you both all the best!!

Lupron worked for me too - but it's suppose to be really hard on your body - my doctor took me off of it for awhile because I've been on it for 6 months already. He's giving me a 3 month break to see how it goes - it ran out about 2 weeks ago & the pain is coming back - started this week.

Hi Tanya....

I read your post and unfortunately I don't really have any certain advice for you.

I haven't really found treatment for my endo either.

I found this site and was looking for some answers and Josey shared some food advice and diet related things that have been done, but I'm not sure of other things.

I have been on doses of Lupron in the past and that is the only thing that has personally worked for ME.
Because not only did I not have a cycle, I was pain-free for all those months.

Downfall - typical side effects: night sweats, daily sweating, pre-menapausal state that it puts your body in, headaches, mood swings, and you can't even try to get pregnant while being on the drug, can cause the baby to be impaired, you know what I mean, I'm tired and can't think of the word right now.

We have a 3 1/2 year old son and have been trying since, without luck.

I had my 3rd lap April 08' and found my left side tube is completely blocked.

Now my only possibility would come from my right-side, but the odds aren't looking good.

I apologize, I wish I could help you more, but I just don't know the answers.

I really wish the medical field would find some sort of true treatment or cure already!

Tina

Good morning all,

I hope this doesnt get too long, but I need some advice and hopefully someone in the group can help. I have been taking seasonale birth control for three years to control my endo by having fewer cycles. I just had an ultrasound and the doc told me that my endometriomas are stil there, no change in size. I did have a laparoscopy and she showed me the pictures again and its hard for me to know how bad my endo is because I dont know what "normal" is supposed to look like, but in addition to the cysts (which are on both ovaries and 5+ centimeters) the ovaries are stuck down behind my uterus by the endo. Her diagnosis for me is to continue pills of some sort until I decide its time for the complete hysterectomy with ovaries, tubes, all removed. I dont like taking the birth control and have told her that many times although it does help with the pain, I have other side effects. She told me I could try lupron or some other meds and then told me I could try going off the pill for 6 months to see what would happen (this did shock me LOL). But she said if I end up back in the hospital, the hysterectomy would be the best choice at that point (I am 36 w/ no kids and unfortuantely probably cant have them on my own anyway with all the damage) I want to try natural healing and do see a natural medicine physician, but I am nervous what will happen to my body and my symptoms once I stop taking the pill. I started running and have three big races coming up and dont know how it will affect my ability to run. Since this is a holistic endo site, I was hoping someone could give me advice about what natural remedies you use, whether they work for you, how they control symptoms. Also if anyone has taken the pill for a while and then stopped, could you please let me know how long it took your body to recover. I realize everyone's experiences will be different, but I am just trying to decide what to do. Sorry this is so long!

Thanks for any advice!
Tanya
