Hi Debra,

Have you tried "Crystal Light Tea"? They make a wonderful Peach Iced Tea and you just mix it with water anywhere you go...I like it and take a packet with me in my purse so I have it...they also have a very good pink lemonade mix.

lyn,
thanks. it would be a nice change from regular and green tea to try it. i get nasuated by hot tea and only drink it iced. i have tried those celestial seasons herbal teas and didn't like them and that was why i was surprised when i liked the lipton diet green and their peach teas. i wish i could find the peach in the bottles again.

lyn,
i've never known why sweet tea is a southern thing and other places didn't do it that way. i guess it's like the everything fried here too. i would probably get sick if i had my mom's tea after all these years using sweetner.

i'll have to try that lipton white tea...... i like those flavors. is it bottled or make yourself??

elizabeth,
i do chicken all the different ways too.... except the fried. southern women have always been known for excellent fried chicken and my mom's was perfect. i just never have been able to accomplish it. a paula deen i am not!!! i am trying to lower the sodium in my cooking now and dh hates it. got any good ideas for that......... anything but garlic........ i don't like garlic but i love onions.

Don't feel too bad, Debra, I have never made fried chicken either! I have an excuse, though. My mother never cooked, so she never taught me anything. By the time I got married and had to learn, I was more interested in cooking lower calorie foods, and fried chicken didn't fit that bill. I am a pretty decent cook now, and I really enjoy it. I can make chicken in tons of different ways, but I still have never deep fried it. I can saute it, bake it, grill it, marinate it, broil it, and boil it, but I'm afraid what would happen if I ever learned to deep fry it!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Why yes you are a disgrace...I have an excuse for not liking sweet tea...I grew up in California and am now in Kentucky but just because I moved to the "sort of" south doesn't mean I have to like sweet tea... emoticon

Last winter I found a wonderful tea, also a Lipton "White Tea w/ blueberry and pomegranate flavor"...It is so good when it's cold...

elizabeth,
i was raised on southern sweet tea........ the 2 cups sugar to gallon of tea and loved it. when i went to weight watchers about 10 years ago i started drinking it with sweetners..... ending up liking splenda the best. when the bottles of diet lipton green tea came out i loved them. i tried the green tea you make yourself but i liked the bottled best. i like to put them in the freezer until it's like a slushi/ icee too. when the bottled first came out they also had a peach flavored one but i haven't seen those in a long time. but my dh likes to go to arby's and they do have the diet lipton green tea peach flavored in their fountain.

as for being a disgrace to southern heritage............ hanging my head in shame.......... i can not fry chicken !!!!!!!! my mom is a great cook....... i did not get the cooking gene. i am a terrible cook and for some reason i can not get fried chicken right. pathetic, i know !!!!! as sylvester the cat's son on the cartoon says............... oh the shame of it !!!!!!
i don't have fried chicken now anyway......... but still it's a disgrace being from the south!!!

emoticon on the 25-point spin, Lyn!

Debra, which Lipton tea do you drink? I love the green tea with wild berry extracts. It's the kind you have to brew yourself, not in a bottle. I don't like sweet tea, so I drink it unsweetened. Can you imagine being from the South and not liking sweet tea??? I am a disgrace to my heritage! emoticon emoticon emoticon

thanks for the congrats. it's true what they say that after 2 weeks it's easier. raisins, nuts, fruit, sugar free 5 cobalt blue peppermint gum, lipton diet green tea and crystal light were the things that got rid of the cravings.

thanks for the salad !!

good luck with that pizza !!!
