I also weigh almost everyday(when I remember) right before my shower(I tried after before and my wet long hair put on almost a lb...lol) I only record my weight every Friday. I also "tape" every Friday. I also do snug but NOT tight.

I weigh myself every day, and that helps me see trends. On the same day every week, I "officially" weigh myself, and that's the weight that decides if I've lost or gained.

About the tape measure: Hmmm... I haven't been measuring myself. I used to, but stopped and just use my clothes as a guide. That isn't good, I know, and I need to start again!

When I measured I never had the tape tight, just snug. It isn't to push tightly into the fluff. That's why I quit. I hated to see those numbers more than the numbers on the scale, believe it or not! I always was a size 8 but a 10 looked better. Now I'm size 18 and it scares me to see those numbers. Maybe a good scare is what I need! LOL!!

With all the walking I've been doing... I bet the numbers on the tape would look pretty good! Thank you for making me think about that! Now where did I put my tape measure!! LOL!!

I weigh myself everyday, because it helps me stay accountable. I know what you mean about weight fluctuating and its hard to tell real weight loss. I become excited to see the scale change downward and want to post the change right away, but I don't. I take the weight from one Saturday to the next. If there is a change then I post it. I like to see the numbers drop... and yes, sometimes they go back up!! I've lost the same 2 pounds over and over again. Until I was able to determine what I was doing wrong to make the weight roller coaster like that it was discouraging to post ups and downs... but it made me realize I had to change to make it change and keep that high feeling of success!

Bottom line: post it! Be proud of your accomplishment! Keep track just like you would if you were keeping track in a journal. Let us share your joys and your sorrows. This is a journey, and traveling it together makes it so much more fun... and easier!!

I was wondering when you consider that you have lost a pound? I weigh myself periodically. Right now, I'm about 174-175.

I don't consider that I lost that pound until I step on the scale and see that the number comes in consistently. If I weigh myself and see 173.5, I know I'm heading in the right direction, but I don't count it yet. I've seen 173 (YAY), but sometimes 176 shows up (for no reason). When we were posting, weighing ourselves once a week, the weight was still inconsistent.

I just don't want to set myself up for a letdown if I mark it on the tracker, and then it goes up again. Maybe that's why I was also asking earlier about what kind of scale you have. Mine is good, just weighs to .5 lb. But if I don't trust my numbers at first, I guess I don't need to know the pounds to the tenth.

Inchwise, though, I lost an inch from my thigh and one from my hip.

Another thing - when you measure your hips, how hard do you pull the tape measure? I have a lot of "stuffing", and it could be a difference of up to three inches. LoL.
