I made mine the night before and set it on 10 hours to cook. Then I turned it on low and kept it there until I was ready to serve it. We ate at lunch time at church and it was fine. I'm sure you could do the same with eating it at dinner time. My crockpot has five settings, which help.

HCG stands for Human Chorio Gonadotropin. Look up HCG diet on the website and you'll find out more than you'd ever want to know about it. I'm just not convinced it's the safest and long lasting way to go about losing weight.

I'm glad that you all think you'll like the recipe. I had one teenager come back three times for it as he likes spicy things! I hope you all will enjoy it.

No, cilantro is the same as coriander and cumin is the same as comino. Totally different although used in the same type of cooking.

Recipe sounds great. Got a question about the crockpot cooking: if you put it in all night, do you then put it in the fridge until dinner time or keep it warm in the crockpot until ready to eat?

This sounds awesome! A couple of questions - What does HCG stand for? and Are cilnatro and cumin the same thing? I've had people tell me that they are, but they don't seem the same to me.

I'll definitely have to try this. Best of all, fits with the Core Program that I do on Weight Watchers.

Makes 4 servings approximately 250 calories each

1 small can Mexican style tomatoes-blended
1 small can petite diced tomatoes
1 small can chicken broth
1 small can green chilies
14 oz. diced chicken breast (cooked)
4 oz. diced onion
4 oz. diced celery
cilantro-chopped to taste
1 jalapeno or serano chili pepper without seeds, chopped
cumin to taste
chili powder to taste
salt & pepper

Add all ingredients and let simmer until veggies are tender. I put mine in a crockpot and let it cook all night. You can control the "hotness" of this by using only part of a jalapeno or serano pepper or by omitting it all together. This smells wonderful while it cooks!
