They are just like children, only better because you can go out for the evening without hiring a babysitter, they don't need a cell phone or a college education, and best of all they love you no matter what!

Our kids say that same thing, in fact I think they're a little jealous of the dogs! They are like our children aren't they? I just love them!

Yes, Westies aren't like "dogs"... My kids say that I spoil Buddy more than I did them! I tell them that is not possible... because they are spoiled rotten!

Toby is doing great, and he told me this morning that he would like for me to feed him tomatoes more often. Now, does that sound like a dog or a human? The church secretary in our former parish used to laugh every every time I used the word "dog". She'd always say, "Dog? Dog? You mean you also own a dog?"

Buddy loves Italian food and that has tomatoes, but he's never eaten them raw.

Here's a link to plants that are poisonous to dogs (although I don't think we can really categorize a Westie as a dog... aren't they human? LOL)

Thank you for everyone's concern. Sir Toby seems to be doing quite well, so I guess he's going to be okay, but it did give me a bit of scare. I'm actually kind of glad to know that he's really into his fruits and veggies, LOL! I won't worry about him next time he wants some tomatoes. He loves carrots, peas, green beans, etc., but I know to keep my babies away from raisins, grapes, onions, and chocolate.

We have friends with westies who eat tomatoes and do just fine. They think they're wonderful treats! I'm sure he'll be fine. I guess he was trying to get in his fruits and veggies too!

He seems to be doing just fine. Some of the web sites I googled said tomatoes are bad, and some said that it's just the leaves and stems. We're watching him, however. What a little sneak!

Let us know how the little fares and whether he has any problems with the tomatoes.

i googled. it mostly said the vines, leaves and stems and if they were green. i remember seeing last year on a westie website in england posters were saying their westies ate the grape & cherry tomatoes as treats. i have never given mine any so i don't know if they cause harm. hopefully your baby won't even get a tummy ache emoticon

Does anyone know if tomatoes are bad for dogs? Knucklehead Toby (my ten year old fur baby on the left in my profile picture) found some of those small grape tomatoes. He was eating his fourth one when I caught him. I know that a lot of veggies are okay for dogs, but I don't know about tomatoes.

If anyone knows please share. I'll be doing a Google search on this one.
