Great job getting your bs numbers down from the 500s into the 200s! That is a real achievement. To keep lowering your bs numbers you may want to walk each day. It doesn't have to be dedicated walking, e.g., going out for a walk, you can incorporate walking into your daily life by using stairs instead of an elevator, walking to the store and back or just moving around more. I used a step counter and realized by using the stairs and going to the further point to pick up lunch (while I was working), in addition to other small modifications I walked almost 2 miles a day. It really helped when I was on oral meds. I'm now on insulin and have much better control.

Also, diet plays a huge role in bs numbers. Try to keep your carb intake at a reasonable level--set by your nutritionist--and I found consuming fewer carbs at dinner, as opposed to breakfast and lunch, also helped.

Good luck.

I have discovered that when I work out doing water aerobics for an hour 4 times/wk, I can get my A1C down to 6.7 (from 8.7). If I only go 2x/wk, it goes right back up to 7.9 A1C. Haven't lost any weight doing the exercise, but my blood sugar is doing better and I can take a little less insulin!

Mine has been in the 200s sometimes 300s. I know when I was exercising and watching what I was eating, I had a lot better control over it. I need to get back there to have better blood sugars. Do you get any exercise? Might help in my case it made a big difference.
