Eating the foods of my region has become a habit. I'm eating more rice this month but next will go with sweet potatoes, carrots, pork. I got tired of the word "smoothies" and went back to "shakes".

This team looks like it needs some pep and energy and...some posting members. I would like to try to be hostess to Mothers who stay at home instead of work outside jobs.

Keeping house is a pleasant way to live. Making rooms look cheerful and clean provides exercise, too. Writing thorough grocery lists and using colored magic markers to make weekly menus for the door of the frig is a colorful way to make something practical and useful.

Getting husband off to work with a well filled lunchbox, and doing the same for children on their way to school builds family unity. Unity of love and unity of a purposeful life spent together.

I've been very impressed to see our older kids asking us for advice. I don't remember EVER asking my parents opinion on things. That's pretty sad. and THAT'S with me LIKING my parents!

Sandy, I read all of your posts today, too! My husband and I have had a lot more tension these past few years as it seems like we often disagreed on the advice to give when our older children were seeking it (S23, D21, D19). My thinking was we should both give advice. We both have wisdom. He didn't see it that way and wanted the two of us to come to a consensus before we gave it. In the end the advice we gave was bent on the logical and lean on the emotional. Also when we didn't come to a consensus quickly our son and daughters moved on without it. Recently if one of them contacts just one of us we just tell them just our thoughts. If they want both of us they can contact both of us via FaceTime together or have the first contacted tell the other to call back. This way THEY are choosing where the advice comes from not us. Six years of stress but it's softening now and he and I are communicating better than ever.

Just stopping by to say hi. Not much going on here just been busy with family and stuff. I been cleaning and doing laundry. Been using the spark people app to log my food. I try to post when I can as for some reason I do get on the computer much. I been giving it a rest lately. It looks like it gonna rain here again. Hi I been down under the weather with my asthma acting up. I am starting to feel a little better. Been doing ok other wise. Hubby been mr mom for a week. Thank god he here to handle things.

Evening Team, Been out most of the day and finally getting to relax for a bit before dinner. Figure I come stop by and say hello to all. Boy it was very hot here we hit 107 here in Adelanto,Ca My hubby got me a nice fountain that runs on solar. Here is a picture of it Also he rewared me with new outfits cause I am losing weight and I am now a size 15/17 juniors and it feels great. Here is one of the outfits I am wearing.
Hope all is well going to go and start dinner the kids and hubby getting hungry lol.

Morning just siting here enjoying my quiet house today as the kids in school. It just me and the animals lol. Figure I check in with all of yous. We going up to 80's and I am loving it. Well Sunday we having a birthday party for my Tiffany who turn 9 on the 1st but we wanted to have the party on the weekend. I am so very proud of myself for logging in 47 days in a row and for tracking everything. I went clothes shopping and pick up some shorts and tees I was surprise that I fit into a xl 15 - 17. Hubby was like see you're doing it and there the proof. :) I am very happy with myself. Hope all is well. Talk more soon....

Morning well just finish walking the puppy and it feels warm out today. The newspaper say it going up to 76 and sunny. I love this weather we have right now sure wish it would stay like this all year long. I wake up about 10am and walk the puppy than feed the kids and I had sugar free maple n brown sugar oatmeal with strawberries.Now I am checking in with you guys. Not much plan for today but relaxing and enjoying the weather.
Yesterday we spent most of the day outside with the kids and it was fun. The kids was riding their bikes and I was walking the puppy from corner to corner. He loved it as he was running around chasing after the kids lol.
Well hope everyone else is having a good Sunday. Talk more later on.

Hi Well we patch things up and we both apologize. I hate fighting too. Anyway Today was a nice quiet day. Went to the eye doctor and I need new glasses. They will take a couple weeks to come in. Then after wards we went food shopping for a couple of items. I am making slow cook chicken in a crock pot for dinner. The girls did a good job with the laundry yesterday. I was so very proud of them. I am proud of all the kids you know they are growing up so fast. Tiffany is turning 9 on Match 1st so we having a little party for her. She into monster high stuff so the theme going to be monster high. Don't know what we getting her yet. Hubby thinking maybe a bike. She wanted a water slide but not in 70's temperatures. I might do a jumper but not water slide lol we see you know. Better go as I need to finish the rest of dinner. Hope all is well with everyone. Talk more later.

Hi Team, Today I am feeling very stressed and overwhelm for some reason. Me and hubby had a little fight last night. Don't want to bore you with the details. We will work it out hopefully. Anyway the kids are home as no school for today. Well I am down to 250 and it feels great. I am getting there little by little.As for the weather it been pretty nice here. We been reaching the 70's mark. Hopefully the cold spell is over.I am gonna teach my older girls how to run the washer as they want to help out more so I am giving them the laundry chore. My boys are doing the trash and my little ones like to make beds. It good to give the kids some chores to do. Kids need chores in their routine. Just wanted to drop by for a quick hello. Just came back from the vet and Cory is doing good.he gained 6 pounds last visit he was 23 pounds and today he 29 pounds we got him microchip too. He is 14 wks now. I posted a picture of Cory on my blog.

Hi well it 75 here and the sun is shinny. So took the puppy for a nice little walk around our area. Hubby had an eye appt this morning and things went very good. His eyes are in great health. Came back to a message on our phone that all my test results was normal and no I am not pregnant. So still no period so now I have no clue to why. I was very disappointment that I wasn't. Cause I really wanted another baby.Guess you can say I have baby fever lol.Yesterday went for my three hour class and it was fun. I learned a lot about how to left and be a good health aid. They said I started on Dec 14 so I am getting back pay. I am just glad I can be more help.

Morning well the kids all are off to school and I am home relaxing with a nice hot cup of coffee. I already walk the puppy and feed all the animals that we have. Other than that nothing new to report.
Tomorrow I have to leave very early as I have a class to take and it for three hours, I am becoming a health aid part time. Figure it be nice to help others in need. Plus I could use the extra cash lol. It pays 10 an hr. So that not too bad anything helps.
Well I am getting tired so going to lay back down for a few hours. A nap might just help. Talk more later on. Have a good day everyone....

Hi Well we been enjoying the weather here as we each 65 today. So we took the kids to the park and I even went down the slide and swing a bit. Boy was it fun playing with the kids. We spent about a couple hours. I forgot just how much fun it could be you know.

Thursday hubby had a doctor appointment to see if he needs a colonoscopy and sure enough he does need one. So they are going to be making him an appointment for one. They said he has something blocking in his colon area. He is scared to death and I don't blame him.They said it not easy for people with Marfan syndrome so they have to be extra careful.My hubby has Marfan syndrome and diabetes and depression and bipolar..He is already losing his legs due to his ACL. He fall at work before he meat me and tore both his ACL in both knees. Please say a prayer for him. We sure hope it not cancer you know. His blood pressure was a bit high too. His blood sugar was also on the high side because of the stress he under. So we just waiting for the date of the colonoscopy.

As for me well it been very stressful but I am handling it. I am worry cause I am late on my period like three days late. I been tired and moody and nippy been sore on top of things.I don't know if it stress or what. I'm 48 so it could be the sign of Menopause or pregnant .I am trying to keep my head up and not let him see how worry I am. Other then that things are ok.
The kids all are doing good and well. My oldest daughter just sign up to be a cheerleader she in middle school.. Anyway just wanted to check in..

Wake up and got the kids off to school and than lay back down for a bit. After waking up for the second time around I did some cleaning and sweeping and made all the beds up and feed the rabbits ,dogs, cats, birds.and walk the puppy.I also decided to clean my refrigerator inside and outside. Made some coffee and now I am just waiting for the kids to come home from school. So my day is going good so far. Right now we 55 outside. My son called me and he getting hit with that snow storm back east. I told him to be safe and stay warm. I don't miss the snow one bit. For those who getting hit with the storm please be safe and stay warm.

Hello everyone. Well, I have been busy running around and not accomplishing anything I set out to for the past couple days. Exercise has turn into that thing I used to do this week. I'm hoping January is just a bad month. I bend down to hug my daughter and did something to my back, so I can't even walk. My son was so sweet. He helped me to the couch and told me to just relax while he went to get himself ready for school. Usually I help him get ready. He missed the school bus by about 2 minutes, so he got my daughter ready for the day and was scraping the car windows while I tried getting up. Now that we got him to school, I'm wondering how I'm going to get through the day without him. And how am I going to keep a 3 year old entertained without getting off the couch. I bought a water bottle and made lines to measure cups. It holds 3. I told my husband that I don't know how in going to get to 8. I hadn't finished my first 3 cups in the past 3 days, and I've only had 1cup of milk other than the water. I just don't drink very much. My son chimed in that he and my daughter both have also drank out of it, so I drank even less than I thought. I guess that means my weight isn't water weight!

Well it been raining most of the day here. But was able to walk the puppy before it came down hard. He doesn't like the rain. So it hard when he has to go potty you know. I manage to get 8 glasses of water in three days in a row. I am very proud of myself. I also log into spark for 11 days now not bad. If I can't use the computer I use my cell phone. The spark app is great. I can even blog and spin for points. I love the new spark app. Well time to get dinner on so I will chat with you all tomorrow.

Morning Thanks, Well was up early to walk our puppy. It sure starts my mornings plus it good exercise. He is starting to be a puller. Hubby says he can stop him from pulling. Hello everyone! I've been talking about making everything we eat from scratch. I love cooking/baking, but hate the clean up. I'm also not good with experimenting to make my own recipes. Currently, our money situation has hamburger helper in the weekly loop, but I think it wouldn't be too bad in the long run once I get ahold of the average ingredients. My husband and I love cornbread. My kids are another story. Tomorrow is my husband's birthday, so we are going out to eat tonight. Of course my husband wants to go to an all you can eat buffet!

Hi all!

I made my first attempt at homemade cornbread yesterday. Not too bad, but could've been a lot better. I'm happy that I at least tried though! I used to live off boxed meals (mac & cheese, hamburger helper, etc), so I'm excited to actually make something from scratch.

Hello! I've been MIA from spark people for months, but just got my third day in a row today. I've tried and failed many times. It feels like every time I try, my weight goes up instead of down, so this time I'm trying to stay away from scales and base myself on how I feel. This new start came when walking my son to and from the bus stop and needing to sit down from the walk to and from the corner. My daughter is 3 and ready to play every second of every day. She recently decided she didn't need naps anymore, which I spent taking naps myself, so my body isn't very excited about that. Hoping everyone is having a great Friday!

Well I have log into spark for 7 days now yea. I started back at 258 and today I am 251 not bad I am down 7 lbs. The kids are getting ready for school and I just finish walking our new puppy. The kids have a three day weekend as their no school for Monday. I am so very proud of myself for getting back on track. It feels good you know.

Sorry I been MIA just been busy with family stuff and haven't been online much. With the holidays and family I been busy. I am still trying to lose weight one day at a time. My husband fall and hurt his knee, they say he throw his ACL so he been laid up for a week now. Hoping he gets better soon. In the mean time I am handling everything so it hard. But I am still here hanging in there.

Happy Sat everyone, Time to get back on track. Thanksgiving went well. Happy belated thanksgiving to all. We did good I think. We have a very light breakfast and than we cook the main meal which was turkey,stuffing,yams,green beans bake, baked ziti, pumpkin pie,cake. We snack on devil eggs,sausage,cheese,crackers,chips,dip during the day. Even with it only being in the 50's the kids played outside for a bit. Over all it was a very nice day.
Well yesterday we set up the tree and now all we need to do is decorate it. and we put out the Santa's which the kids love. As one of them plays music and sings and dances. We didn't do black friday as we had all our shopping done ahead of time. Black friday is just too crazy for us.
Went and got a new outfit and it feels so good to be wearing a xl again. The weight it coming off slowly. I brought myself a sweater and leggins to wear on thanksgiving day..I am finally out of the plus sizes.
Well got some laundry to do and some cleaning and gonna try to decorate the tree. Hope all is well with everyone else.....

Well just sitting here enjoying a nice cup of coffee. I just finished cleaning out our rabbits cages and did some laundry and cleaned the house. We been cleaning out all the clutter we built over the years. We have so much stuff we just don't use or need. I am beat and tired. We have the kids home for thanksgiving break. It nice out today as we reach 70 but the kids don't wont to go out side and play or ride their bikes. Already they bored to death. Anyway we have our turkey thawing as we have a big boy he 19lbs. We even have our menu and everything we need for the big day. The kids are so excited to eat Tom lol. They calling dibs on the legs and wings.
Hubby isn't feeling well today as he suffering from sore back and migraine. So he resting. I just wanted to stop by and say hi to all...

Morning well I walk my two youngest to school and I took my time so I wouldn't get out of breath. It felt so good to be able to walk them again. We starting to get cold too as this morning it was only 30 our high suppose to be in the 50's. My daughters eye is starting to look better she misses school. We have another daughter home with a nasty cold and sore throat. I say it from this weather you know. Not too much going on other wise. Today I have a couple meetings with the kids teachers to see how they doing in school. Just trying to stay on track and eat right and to stay warm and well. Cause with all this cold temperatures I sure cant come down sick. Hope all is well with everyone else...

Morning boy is it getting cold here in Ca right now it only 36 out guess winter is coming. Well most of the kids are in school all but one. My daughter who is 11 come home from school on Friday with pink eye. Doctor gave me some drops to use and hope it be gone soon. Feels so good to have a computer again. Can't believe thanksgiving is almost here. The good thing is we did all our x-mas shopping early so we done don't have to worry about rushing you know. I'm just relaxing and enjoying life and trying to stay on track you know. I will get this weight off one day at a time. Anyway hope everyone is doing well. Sending prayers to Paris.
Don't feel bad I too have slack off with exercising and it been awhile too. Really need to get back into exercising again. I don't have any excuses either.

I have been busy with kids,school and life and in the process I've lost a pound. I know its not a great big deal but for a girl who can't drop a pants size I am proud! Browns vs Steelers today Go Browns!!!! Happy Sunday

Sorry I been MIA I been without a computer until now. I been trying to eat healthy and low carb. Hubby surprise me a couple of times by fixing me low carb lunches.He the best hubby a wife can have. My scale died so I haven't been weighing myself but I feel great and I am happy. In a way I am glad it died cause it was driving me crazy. I don't miss the scale one bit.

Just wanted to check in and say hi to all. Been sick for almost a week. Feels good to finally get online and see what I am missing. I had a nice birthday. We got some new family members. We got 2 new bunnies and kittens for the kids. I haven't been eating much while sick with this nasty cold so I can't wait to get back to eating healthy again. I hated being sick and moody lol. Sorry I been away been so busy with family and everything And then my laptop broke and had to get it repaired just got it back a week ago. Glad to have it back. I missed sparking with all of you.
I kept to eating healthy and saying active and I am doing great. The kids all are well and so is hubby. I am now 48 as I turned on the 7th of Sept. It still warm here but starting to cool down some. This week we suppose to be in the early 90's. Hope all is well with everyone else...

I try to fit in some kind of crazy body movement with my kids when I can, I figure it all counts! Jumping jacks, rolling on the floor, pushups, stretching, situps, staplers (burpees), taking the stairs, going for walks. I don't track that stuff in my tracker, I like to think of it as bonus activity!

Good Morning everyone!
Well almost afternoon here now. The weekend has started off quiet here for me. I am sitting in my bedroom listening to the stillness of the house. We have just made it back home from extra days with my side of the family so Dad and son must be off playing somewhere. I was coming to you ladies with a few questions. Where do you find the time to get some movement in without having to do a workout persay? My son is very active and if I take the time to focus on even a 10 minute exercise he's into something. I was hoping to take on the challenge of doing something every hour. I do try to fit a full workout in when he was napping but I would like to get moving every hour so I avoid the "active couch potato" lifestyle.

Just stopping in to say hi! Way to go Sandy on the weight loss! You are doing great!

We had a crazy busy summer and now we are in the middle of transitioning to the kids being in school. My 9 y.o. started 4th grade today and my 4 y.o. starts preK next Tuesday.

I did really well with exercising over the summer, and I won my age group in the 5K I ran in August. Yeah!!!

I think I need to ease off the running as my shins are not feeling great. I am going to sub some bike rides on the trainer and hopefully swimming instead.

I have been slipping back into stress eating as I have a whole list of stuff that has built up over the summer that I have to get done, I'm supposed to be prepping some seminars for consulting work, and my 4 y.o. has been really challenging (and we are phasing out the nap - ugh).

I am hoping things settle down in a couple of weeks once we are into our new routine. I don't like transitions and I know I will feel better once I am into a routine and I make some progress on the work I need to do.

Hello Everyone,
This is my first time popping in to see how everyone is doing on this team. I hope today finds everyone well. Today I have managed to walk at least .5 a mile with my mom and my son. I am hoping to add some more steps as the day continues but it was too hot here to keep walking comfortably. I also need to do a load of laundry (we are on vacation visiting family and I decided to stay a few days longer than planned.) What all are you ladies up today??

Sandy1380-Is their a specific recipe you used for homemade pancakes? I haven't found one that has turned out very well but hubby loves pancakes so its a never ending search! :)

Morning well not much going on here just relaxing. Figure I stopped by and say emoticon
I am waiting for the laundry to finish and for the boys to come home and my other daughter. Made pancakes from scratch this morning and they came out great. I never new just how easy it was to make them. They were a big hit with the girls and hubby. Didn't workout this weekend but instead I cleaned the house and moved furniture around. I did workout during the week so that good. Time to work on new goals for the week. Will post them later on in the day. Better go check on these clothes. Hope everyone is enjoy their Sunday...

Just finish riding through Sydney did 50 mins and burned over 447 calories not bad I use the BitGym App and also did some strength training too this morning so I got my workout in now time to clean and do some laundry. Hope everyone is doing good. It started to get hot here as right now we 90 and it only 12pm.

Well on Wednesday I did 20 minutes on the bike for 2 miles. On Thursday I did 20 minutes working in my yard pulling up weeds and dead plants. Today is a rest day as I am resting my body. I woke up this morning and step on my scale and this time it read 249.0 I was shock to see that I loss 3 lbs this week. So it shows if you eat healthy and move your body more you can lose weight. So I am looking forward to a new week ahead....Hope everyone else is having a good week. I can't wait for the weekend to come.

Well it back to school week here and so far they like school. I have one that just starting high school and one just starting middle school and four in Elem yet. I also started exercising again too. So far I workout 10 mins on Sun,40 mins on Mon, 40 mins on Tues, today 10 mins so far. I am on a roll. I feel great and I am getting my eating under control too as I been eating healthier.
Now I just have to work on drinking more water as I hate water lol. I have made weekly goals and things are looking better. For this week my goals are..

Starting Sun Till Sat

Exercise for 5 to 6 days
Choose healthy foods
Log everything
Drink more water
Enjoy life and be happy

Morning Sorry I been MIA last week been busy running around getting the kids ready for back to school. Had to go clothes shopping then sneakers shopping and school supplies and even up to date shots for my middle schooler. So I did a lot of walking. Then me and my hubby will be celebrating our anniversary n Aug 5th we be together 15 yrs. Boy how times fly by quickly. We have had our up and downs but some how we work through things and pulled our marriage together. I guess everyone goes though a rough patch here and there. Anyway I am trying to lose this weight and it hasn't been easy. I swear when you hit your 40's it hard and harder to lose weight. But I am trying my best to. At times I just want to give up but I don't. I eat as healthy as I can and I even cut the sugar out and still nothing. Doctors say you have to balance everything. I do that and still not seeing results. For now all I can do is keep going and one day I will reach my goal of being under 200 lbs. Hope everyone else is doing fined.

Well woke up feeling good and I started my day off to a good start by drinking a glass of water than I did 12 minute walk at home video and 3 sets of Narrow Squats and 3 sets of Isometric Squats. I want to try and workout every day even if it just 10 minutes I am gonna try.

Just stopping by to say hi,

Well it pretty quiet in my house this weekend as 2 of my girls are at their grandparents and another one of my girls went to the lake with her friend's family and than gonna sleep over. So we just have the 2 boys and 1 girl . Right now hubby is sick with a cold and sore throat so he in bed resting. I am making him homemade chicken noodle soup and hasn't decided what me and the kids gonna have yet for dinner. I'm thinking of a pork roast but don't know really.
My goal for this week is to try and log on to spark and post more often. Also to try and log everything I eat and drink. I also want to try to get back into exercising again even if it only 10 or 20 mins a day. I been trying around 248 for awhile now and I would like to see that number move down you know. I hit a plateau and just haven't move since.

Well not much going on just been relaxing as we been having rain and thunder storms here. We do need rain. I also don't use the meal that Spark gives you. I feel too restrictive and find that making my own is better. I enjoy choosing healthy foods and making my on dish. I also don't measure my foods. I can look at foods and guess how much to eat. I been on so many different diets that it pretty easy. The only problem I have is not exercising enough. I keep telling myself that I will exercise and for some reason I just don't. Hubby even got me a exercise bike which I don't use. Anyway hope all is well with everyone....

Morning I sure haven't been active here much on Spark or my teams. I been so busy with family stuff and the kids that I just don't go online much. Hubby had to reformat my laptop cause I some how got a virus. So it took him a couple of days to fix it. Thank god he was able to. As for my weight well it been up and down. So I just have to stay focus and start tracking again. We had a really big fire near our area thank god it didn't come near where we live but you could see the smoke as the whole sky was red clouds. But it did spread on a highway and burned over 20 cars n trucks. Also burn 5 homes that was in the hills. They still trying to get it contained right now it only 5%. I am so ready for the kids to go back to school which is Aug 10th. I love them but oh god they driving me crazy. Hope everyone is having a good week... Enjoy your weekend

My plan for now into Aug is to set mini goals and track what I eat and drink and to stay active.

Hi everyone, I thought I would stop by and say hello. My name is Alexis, I am a mommy to two boys aged 4 & 5. I live in North Wales in the middle of nowhere. I have been a stay at home mom since I five months pregnant with my eldest. I live with my lovely hubby Chris. It will be lovely to meet you all.

Good morning everyone,

I'm stopping by to say hello. It's been a while since I've stopped by. I'm still hanging in there. I am eating healthy and staying active. I been doing stuff with the kids and hubby. Well I been busy between paying bills and fathers day and throwing a birthday party for my 10 yrs.old son. Also trying to stay cool as it been so hot here in Ca, We been hitting numbers in the 100s. So for son birthday we rented a jumper/water slide for the kids. I fell off the wagon and now it time to get back on track again. I am tired of seeing my numbers going up and down and up and down. We went food shopping and pick up a bunch of fruits and healthy foods to eat. Cause even hubby need to get his Diabetes under control as his AC1 was very high it was an 11. They even put him on a new med too. I bought a Bella Rocket to make smoothies with. I sure could use some motivation and encouragement. Hope everyone else is doing good...

Hi, Wow I've been gone from the group as well. Just haven't been on the computer much only to check email and pay bills. I am doing somewhat better as far as health wise go. I been eating healthy and following WW plan. When I first stated I was 257 and now I am down to 248. Well the kids all are out of school and they doing good. They enjoying their summer by going in the pool and getting wet. We been taking family walks in the evening with the kids as well after we eat dinner every single night and it been nice. We doing more stuff with the kids this summer it feels great. It been very hot here as we been hitting over 100 all week long. They say it the hottest summer yet. So I been staying active by doing stuff with the kids. I knew that I was spending too much time online and told myself that we the kids finish school that would change. I will try to check in when I can okay miss you all.

I did good yesterday. Walked 1 1/2miles in the morning. Strength training. Then a 1 1/2 round trip to dairy queen to get my daughter an icecream so she liked my last workout too lol. plus she does love to ride in the stroller.

It rained here all day long yesterday, and I did nothing. No workouts, no cleaning, nothing. Woke up today so tired and I thought it might be another day just like yesterday, but then I said nope not going to happen. Got up and walked a mile and a half. Felt wonderful. Weather was nice. Sun was shining and gave me the energy I needed to jump start my day. Going to do strength training soon then get my house clean. Then I get my neice and nephew so going to take them outside to play till there mom picks them up. (about an hour) Then I think ill do an SP workout video, and after supper taking my daughter and walking to the park. After a rainy day I just want a lot of outside time. :)

Woke up and looks like rain. Ugh. Last night around 8pm I felt "hungry" but I knew it was real hunger. I was still so close to eating that I was already browsing the kitchen for something. I found a can of beef stew. One of those high calorie, fat, and sodium things. But I didnt do it. I grab a stick of gum and heated up some water for tea, and almost the moment I started chewing I didn't want that diet ruining can of food anymore. Resisting food when I want it is one of the hardest challenges I face on my way to my goals. So this is something for me to be proud of.

I am having a good day. Lots of plans for summer. Swimming, going to Green Bay to ride Thomas the train in about 2 weeks. We always have a big deal with 4th of July, Theres the state fair in August, plus we get to the different zoos alot and a state park about an hour that we go to about twice a summer. How about you?
