Had an abscessed tooth pulled on Wednesday afternoon and ended up in the ER with a horrible sepsis infection Wednesday night so really guzzling water! Actually sipping slowly so the thing doesn't develop into a dry socket!

I should bite the bullet and go to yoga class. The woman who was the county librarian here for 30 years went to some yoga school in Maine after she retired from the library. I wanted to support her because I've only done it from books and videos but 1)too early in the morning and 2) the beginner class I attended she had a couple children there (boyfriend's grandchildren) so I was annoyed! But I know I could use help with positions!
Spent most of the day pulling weeds! Easy coming out by the roots since we got 2.2 inches of rain in the last 48 hours! Pups enjoyed basking in the sun and getting muddy. It was a real soaker!! Think it got up to 62 today. Down to 40 last night and just kept raining. I was so afraid it was going to turn to snow!!! Lots of places got snow!!

Will leave for Helena by noon tomorrow since I have to start drinking my colon prep by 4 p.m. My colonoscopy is 0630 Monday morning. My friend Vicki has to crawl out of bed & meet me at the hospital because you have to have your "driver" with you when you check in. My motel is way across town from both the VA hospital and her house! They said I should be ready to go home by 0830? Yeah, right. I plan on sleeping there as long as possible! Will drive myself back to Havre when I wake up.

Only liquid from now on. I'm going to bake some bacon & pig out and go to bed. Just came home from Wally World. Got a couple avocados to take with me just in case I feel like I need to eat. Maybe I'll try just eating once a day for a week after the procedure?

They called me about coming back to my old job at the hospital ER DESK. It is graveyards- 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. 3 days a week. Rotating days off. I'm thinking about it. I really have so much to do BUT I do get more done when I'm working just because I can't put it off until tomorrow. Plus for the days during harvest I couldn't be there by 7 p.m. I would have to get someone else to cover until about 9. The mid shift person always works until 9 anyway and could be by themselves from 7-9. The day shift is alone from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. And the graveyard is alone from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. But I want to take some little vacations and go to Oregon so just don't know. Plus I think I'll have wrist surgery after harvest. Will know more after I meet with the surgeons next month.

Maybe best thing is just to go fill out the application and explain it all and if they hire me they do and if they don't it wasn't meant to be. Could use the $$$. Also I liked that job.
More rain over the next few days! Then warm up for the weekend! Can't believe it is almost the end of June! How times flies!

Saw an interview with an old Montana soldier/farmer who is 96 years old and he landed at Normandy on June the 7th. He's been back to Normandy 6 times. It was a great story and he seems like an amazing guy!

Had a very bad day with Mother yesterday so didn't get out of town to stay overnight for my early morning appointment at the VA. I didn't leave here until 11 p.m. so didn't get there until just after 4 a.m.

Had a wonderful visit with my old Army buddies. I stopped by their house right after my appointment and we talked and laughed for over 4 hours. Then I hit the road to come home. The smoke was not nearly as bad as I had expected. A strong SW wind is keeping it in Canada. The road construction (one of the longest seasons in Montana) wasn't too bad. Going down I was only able to go about 25 mph for 11 miles because I was sandwiched in between big 18-wheelers in the canyon. But I don't drive my usual speed demon way at night because of all the deer and other assorted wildlife. Was really a dark night but lots more traffic than I expected for late Sun nite/early Mon morning. 3 deer that had been hit on the road and several along the side of the road but none jumped out at me. Good deal, Lucille.

I am faced with a decision about whether to put my Mattie down. He is almost 15 years old. He has stopped eating & is really slowing down. He seems to be swolen in the stomach area. I can accept that it is time for him to pass on but I do not want to have to put him down. I did that to one dog already. I am praying he passes soon.

I can't get over how quickly it all greened up and how many yards are filled with dandelions here. I love dandelions. They are the first bunch of flowers most kids present to their Moms. They are so bright yellow. You can mow over them, they lay down and pop right back up with the sun the very next day. I live in an old neighborhood that is now mostly rentals for college kids so the yards are not well taken care of. I am against spraying poison of any kind of the lawn - and really, what would be the point if everyone else on the block lets theirs go to seed?

So I just appreciate the little buds of sunshine, plucking off the flowers to save in the freezer for dandelion wine. I got a recipe for Dandelion Cookies so will make a batch when it cools off today and after my outside chores are done. The recipe came from CHERIRIDDELL! If they are good I'll make a big batch because I'm cooking lunch for the meals-on-wheels and the congregate group at the senior center on Monday!

Since yesterday was "Star Wars Day" it is only fitting that last night when I made a mad dash to the grocery store before it closed that this is what it looked like out my windshield. It's really wet heavy snow. Melting off - won't be here tomorrow but I just came in from my coffee/Sunday paper run and got bombed by a clod of snow falling off the roof of the garage!

We always have lilacs blooming for Memorial Day and lots of people still cut them and take them to the cemetery then! I think the smell is just incredible. I have several different varieties in my yard. The best smell is an old "French lilac" which has a smaller leaf and very dark purple flowers and the smell is just intoxicating!

Some years we have them in time for Mother's Day but not very often. I have several white lilacs on my hillside so I share those with my friend Paul's mother. She likes to mix them in with the other colors for her cemetery bouquets.

Clocked wind gusts of 97 mph near Joplin, MT on Sunday 4/28. We were under a blizzard warning only because of the high winds. Our highest recorded in Havre wad 55 and it blew a pretty constant 40-50 for most of the day.

Didn't make the trip to the V.A. today. Hated to have to reschedule but just wasn't worth fighting icy roads and worse having to listen to my nervous Mother for 420 miles!!

I'm not a religious person but I do love the renewal and resurrection feelings from the Easter story and certainly, as a 'Northerner' see the renewal in the trees and the growth of beautiful tulips and daffodils where only a month ago there was a foot of snow!

I have a neighbor who keeps letting her dog out and it comes over and poops in my side hillside yard. This has gone on all winter. There is quite a pile in 3 separate areas and I am going to have to clean it up as part of the Spring yard cleaning. I told my mom I'm going to rake it all into a box and dump it on their porch 'from the Easter bunny'. Maybe I will, maybe I won't.

Getting my taxes done at the Senior Center at 8:30 Monday morning! Screwed up my days the first week of March so this was the next available appointment! Could have done them on my own but like the X-Files option and couldn't figure out how to do the Montana state taxes online without paying to file them?? I should check into helping with taxes next year. Only 2 mornings a week for 6 weeks!

I'm looking at that same darker gray for my kitchen and bathroom!! I think with the dogs and our snowy, muddy or dusty weather it will not show the dirt as much! Great minds think alike!!

What do u think? We are getting rid of the pee pee rug from Petey's accidents, and installing vinyl flooring.

We don't have the typical Florida home with light furniture. Sis has mainly cherry wood.



I think we will go with the darker flooring, but both are nice.

Stopped up at the mall to see what the deal was with my Health Food Store and massage place. They were open. I had just been using the wrong phone number emoticon I had transposed the last two numbers. I did find out that Kevin has not been doing massages because of an arm injury so will check up on him tomorrow.

Fixed a beautiful Italian dinner for my friend Paul and 20 out-of-town relatives who are here for his mom's 90th birthday party tomorrow. The salad was so pretty and a nice antipasto plate and lasagna, chicken/spinach penne and bread sticks and garlic bread and cheesecake and fruit plate for dessert. They were so appreciative and complementary. It was my honor and privilege because I think his mom is a really wonderful woman!
