I did do the challenge but I didn't know we were supposed to post it here. I will say that I want to build on my successes of 2016 and make 2017 even better than last year!

1) What were 3 things you did exceptionally well in 2016? I didn't give up! I made morning exercise my habit. I stayed in close touch with my therapist and doctor.

2) What were 3 things that could have been done with more.... passion? Not sure - I'm passionate by nature and usually give my all if I'm going to bother to do it.

3) If you made some mistakes in 2016, what did you take away and learn from them? Honestly, I don't think I made "mistakes" per se. I made some bad choices on occasion. Every time I made bad choices, I took the time to analyze the experience and determine what my triggers were so that I would be ready if I found myself with those feelings or in that circumstance again.

4) What are some Specific Goals or SMART goals for 2017? I will do cardio 60 minutes per day at least 6 days per week. I will do strength training at least 20 minutes per day at least 3 days per week.

5)Name 3 adjectives that best describe yourself... optimistic, loving and talented!

6) what is 1 thing you would like to accomplish in 2017? Add at least four types of fitness activities that I haven't already tried. First up - kayaking!

This is a Pre- New Year's Eve Challenge

Ask yourself a few questions to close out 2016 and get ready to rock 2017......


1) What were 3 things you did exceptionally well in 2016? On week days I followed the No “S” Diet. I was honest with myself more often than I used to be. I was a calmer, happier parent.

2) What were 3 things that could have been done with more.... passion? Exercise, healthier food choices, less stress

3) If you made some mistakes in 2016, what did you take away and learn from them? If I hide my failures. I am only fooling myself.

4) What are some Specific Goals or SMART goals for 2017? My word for 2017 is POSITIVE. My goal is to be a more positive, healthy person.

5 )Name 3 adjectives that best describe yourself... nervous, caring, worthy

6) What is 1 thing you would like to accomplish in 2017? Reach my goal weight and stay there.

Consider all of this like a dance---two steps forward---one step back and do a one quarter turn then do it all over again. I once saw a chart (when I was active in WW) that was shown at an in person meeting where the 'average' person's weight loss was tracked. It was not a straight line but more jagged---like a mountain. I often keep that picture in my mind.

Pat yourself on the back that you are back with the trainer instead of adding to that weight gain. It is probably water retention and will be sweat off in a couple of weeks.

I agree with so many getting back on track is hard... last night while I was whining to my trainer that I could not believe I had gained 3.8 pounds over the Holiday's he pointed out that the average weight gain was 8 pounds between Thanksgiving and New Years, so I hadn't done as bad as I thought. However I still see those pounds as 3.8 pounds that I have to lose again....
I hope that everyone has a wonderful New Years!!!!!

I just wanted to stop in and congratulate emoticon the Golden Phoenixs are being in first place for the second week of our current challenge. I just read it in our newsletter. I often forget to congratulate the winners (mea culpa) so I thought I'd better do it while it was fresh in my mind.

Thanks Chele, I appreciate your well wishes. I was able to walk without my cane today so that was progress. I am doubling up on my pain meds and sleeping in a little longer although the same mess I fell asleep to is there when I wake up. LOL I guess, Santa didn't answer that wish this time around. Yes, between my back and my head cold I am not in a 'good place' physically but the upside is that I have been watching a lot of great Christmas movies curled up in my new very soft and cuddly robe with all white hearts except for one pink one. As the kids get older it is more and more difficult to find the right item. Family usually gives them $. The girls have an Amazon wish list. They like opening gifts, so that helps family find the "right" gift.

Well, I am up here north of you in Atlanta and we are having better weather than we were but it sounds like it is going to dip down again. Up and down. Rain or shine. I wish it would make up its mind. LOL.

I haven't even started my Christmas shopping. Most of my nieces and nephew like money so that isn't too hard but not sure about the great niece and nephew. They are already quite spoiled. LOL. So, all I need to do is go to the bank and get some nice looking bills to stuff in cards. Shopping done!

Love the winter stuff. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. We do get some snow but sadly it isn't until after the Christmas holidays when it would be appreciated the most. Our snow usually comes about the second or third week of January. It is about 2" tops. It is pretty and slippery and I usually try to get some photos of it but that is about all it is. I am originally from MN so I do know what all of your Northerners are going through right now. I get it. LOL. I don't miss it except the first snowfall and the last melt. LOL. You know what I mean!

I am getting my water in but the stretches I seem to forget. I want to start first thing in the morning but if I don't do them then I forget the rest of the day.
