I think the weather is changing again I ached all night, plan to work out at gym this morning and get to bed before the new year rolls in. Eat more fruits and veggies , natural sweets, use Stevia no calories or carbs for your tea or coffee, and discover some of the sweeter herbs for seasoning..
Happy New Year everyone! Be safe Be Smart and plan to reach your goal!

In the evening, go to bed earlier if you dont have something you want or need to do! I slept 11 hours last night and with all the illness around us I think I needed it to gird up my defenses against the cold and flu!! emoticon

Go to Target... Archer Farms makes these mini granola bars, called Indulgent Granola Bites, that are to die for. The dark chocolate hazelnut is especially good, and one "bite" is only 80 cal with 3 grams of fat. It's whole grain based, and there's nothing hydrogenated, partially or otherwise, and no HFCS. What a find!!!

I just love the sugar-free hot cocoa for indulging my chocolate craving! I rarely have them now but that really does work.

I beat it by indulging it. I have one square of Dove dark chocolate every night, along with either a glass of wine or a mug of sugar-free hot chocolate made richer with a splash of almond milk. And I'm OK during the day, because I know I have that treat to look forward to!

Thanks Jackie!

It took me a LONG time to get to the point where I could walk past that stuff. I bought cake mixes on sale last week for some things we have coming up at church. I was going to make one for this morning since 2 of our ladies have birthdays this week and, since it's church I will say "by divine intervention", my toilet broke and I didn't have time to make the cake (and was kind of grossed out for that job). I picked up an angel food loaf, a bag of strawberries and cool whip at Walmart this morning. It was just enough for the 8 of us (we could have used another bag of berries) and the perfect low cal birthday treat for the day before the holiday!

I saved the article on saving money at the grocery story cuz I'll need to remind mystelf every once in while about ways I can help myself. It's common sense stuff but it does require thinking, planning, organization, etc. Once I get in the grocery store my mind goes blank so good to have a plan!

I wrote my blog yesterday on being able to change your habits and cravings. My sweet tooth doesn't always want chocolate now - it wants fruit. Hot cocoa is ok and VERY soothing! Sugar-free is about 50 calories a cup!!! AFTER I wrote the blog, I was catching up on emails and found an article from Sparks that tackles saving money on groceries - and employs many of the ideas I had to use for cutting my fat snacks and sweets. It's not a short process, it does take thought - even while you drive to the store to pick up those snacks!

Here's the link to the Spark article - hope it helps some of you!

(and saving money on groceries might help you do just that!)
