For outdoor activities both are equally good. Scotland has the upper edge for shopping and musems and galleries though. So it really comes down to what you want from your holiday.

You are possible better off in Scotland as every time I have been to Wales it has rained most of the time.

That is not to say it is not nice it is. I love the Breacon Beacon and there are a few waterfalls to go and visit.

Enjoy whichever one you choose

Scotland! Glasgow is good for shopping and museums (probably Edinburgh too, but I don't go much). There's a wee coastal town called Largs that I've been to for a short holiday. There are beautiful walks to do there, and you can get a ferry to a few of the islands as well. If you go to the isle of Cumbrae you can hire a bicycle and it only takes an hour to cycle round the whole island. It's gorgeous.

So, I realised I haven't had a holiday away from home in about 3 years and I think I am overdue! I've gotten impatient with waiting for friends to have a space free for me, and I've decided to bite the bullet and just go away on my own at the end of May. I'm keeping it in the UK-but I can't decide between Wales or Scotland. Can anyone offer up any ideas for me?
