Soda/ diet soda is bad for you in general. Coke Zero and diet sodas are a low/ no calorie option for people to drink who do not want to accumulate empty calories from soft drinks.
Coke Zero is as good an option as diet coke. It just uses a different sweetener.

I drink a lot of diet coke here in the UK and it says on the tin 1 (one) calorie and 0 (zero) of anything else. As far as I know that doesn't mean zero but below .1 of whatever it says.

Still look at the list on the tin and make up your own mind as it maybe different where you live.

Just remembered it does have Aspartame init which has been linked to dementia.

Fizzy drinks aren't great but I use Coke Zero on my fast days as a treat as it's about 1 calorie a can.

EDIT! I just went to the internet and put this in . I was amazed the place in Vegas where our son lives is still there but the links on COKE is amazing. I hope you check it out -PAT

Differences on Coca Cola recipe around the World. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am English born but live in U.S.
I went to a coke sampling for coke around the world. The one thing I came back with is it NOT THE SAME IN ALL COUNTIES.
In the us they use many more chemicals in their products, we have to scrutinize everything. I suggest go to coke website.

I feel certain in UK they do not add High Fructose Corn Syrup in fact I read it was not used in anything--I WONDER ABOUT THAT. In the U.S. companies are removing it and for me THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. I am diabetic and corn syrup gives me way too many carbs so I have to be VIGILANT.
There are chemicals in Coke that are harmful but allowed but I do think this issue is all about the carbs and the High fructose Corn Syrup.
Ask the Spark experts since Spark is international there should be a way to track COKE USA and COKE UK and everywhere else it is distributed to.
Be brave ask COKE UK with an e-mail. I just use the phone it is free here.
I drank UK in my youth and loved it. Now after being diagnosed diabetic I am amazed at the chemical crap in sodas so I just drink my Tea and coffee.
I hope this helps.

I don't know the answer, but I've been drinking caffeine free diet coke assuming it was OK. I'll await the answer with interest!
