When using my grill I cook salmon in foil.(I always spritz foil when cooking on the grill )
Take a single person serving sprinkle or spritz with lemon juice. Sprinkle Dill weed. with lemon (no salt is needed so why add more sodium if you do not need to do so) and then wrap it up envelope style. I have my salmon 1 inch thick and I cook it 5 minutes each side. Leave it in the closed envelope till it is served on the plate.

We love vegetables on the grill. Once again Aluminum foil packets on the grill Spray or spritz foil with canola oil.
Tiny potatoes or potatoes cut up in bite size pieces. Carrots, beets any root vegetable. If you do one for each person they can add what they like. DH loves lots of onion chopped. I usually chop them and microwave them in canola oil and add them to the packets before folding them up.

Most meats are simple just lay them on the grill till they release and flip them over. I like to do Apples and pears on the grill core and wedge the pieces. Skin on or off. Wrap them in foil, spritz with lemon so they do not oxidize I used sweet apples and pears and add no sugar. Pat in Maine U.S.A.(Originally from County Durham, Stockton-on-Tees. Sorry - I don't do BBQ, and I really resent the smell and smoke from one neighbour's garden. I think other neighbours do BBQ, but are perhaps more considerate, also more aware how to do it properly?!

I love to use fresh lemon, or lime, juice for salmon in particular. A fresh salmon steak on a plate, sprinkle well with lemon juice. It'll start "cooking" immediately. I cook it in the microwave for a couple of minutes, rest for 30 seconds or so (just long enough to ease the burn ), then I'll turn it so that the outer edges are in the middle & vice versa, and give it another 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

Oooh lemon! I hadn't thought of that. I'm of to tesco in a bit, so I'll get some lemon!

It's better to try, fall, and get back up again, than never to try at all.

BBQ is a great way to cook. Any lean meat or fish, simple marinated in lemon/lime with some herbs and spices will be great!

try to bbq some sliced pineapples
make two cuts into a banana (top to bottom) put in some chocolate sauce. Cover it up again in its skin. Wrap a alluminum foil round it and bbq (let it get cooked well in its own skin)
chicken is always the healthy option on its own or marinated with salt, pepper and lemon
and add some herbs

enjoy the sun :)

Hey everyone.

Now the better weather is here, my family and I are having a BBQ but I want to try and keep it as healthy and low cal as possible. Can anyone give me some ideas on what I could cook up. I want to try something new and delicious the whole family will enjoy.

Thanks in advance and I hope you enjoy the summer whilst it's here!

Kat
