Les, This is common. My left side is much more affected. There are several types of AS, Symmetrical hits both sides equally. Asymmetrical affects on side more then the other. I have the latter, Along with a completely calcified spine. My left side is where it all started and still seem s to be the worst. I bought a TroyBilt Electric start mower several years ago. It has a self propelled. But I still have difficulty using it and make the kids do the mowing. And suffer for it if I use it.

I knew I made a mistake when I bought a new "all electric" lawn mower. Although I don't need to service it with gas or oil. And neither do I need to pull start it. However, I should have put up with those things for a "self-propelled" mower. There was one on sale, and the best part of it is that it walked at your own pace.
Where is this all leading? Well, I cut the grass today. Don't really have a big yard. But during cutting it I had to stop cause my right hip stiffened up on me to the point of having pain. Once I was over that, I began again. Prior to today, I have been complaining about my left side. Much worse than my hip today. But my left gave me no problem.
I'm still learning about AS. Is that common for that to happen....move around on you? Lester
