Well the high risk specialist explained the test to me, where as my OB did not! I had an extensive Ultrasound and my numbers for the risk of Downs were 1 in 27, after the US they went up to 1 in 123. so that is hopeful. Dr. said he didn't see any issues but each US will tell us more and more. The stress this test put me under is unexplainable and although I am hopeful again, I'm still upset I had to go through all this. Oh and I found out it's a girl, wonderful news for a change! ;)

I know its easier said than done but......Hang in there the testing is almost done. Take deep breathes and keep saying we can do this. We can do this......Your baby wants to be here or he/she wouldn't be hanging in there. This has to be hard on you I'm sure....how is hubby doing? Is he helping you? Can you take a nice long deserved nap? When I get all worked up I just curl up and watch tv and vegitate....maybe if you can relax a bit and take a nap and feel better when you wake up.

The Specialist wants me to do a 24hour Urine test now, have to pick up cup/s and instructions from lab today. Appt. with them tomorrow at 9am. I haven't slept in 5 days because of my nerves and ended up with a bad cold! :( I don't know how much more I or baby can take.

Thanks I believe that too, and can't imagine how some do end their pregnancies so far along when their is a chance it could be a minor thing or nothing at all. I know they are going to try to talk me into further testing, I say no way and I feel if they can't see anything at my next sonogram then I can think totally positive again! :)

Hang in there. I hear those tests are not always correct. I know it is going to a rough rest of the way now that you may now the truth. My nurse practictioner erged me to take the tests but I refused for this reason. IF it did come back with a defect of some sort I would be worried until it was born. I wouldn't be able to terminate my pregnancy now anyway. I truely believe that God wouldn't give you more than you can handle. Some times though I think REALLY?? more?? Stop by anytime if you need someone to talk to you.....I'm here if you need me to listen.

I recently had a triple screen blood test and it came back 100% positive for Downs Syndrome! I refused all Genetic tests with my Son and when my OB sent me for lab work with this pregnancy, I had no idea what this test was for, I should of asked but I just assumed it was routine blood work. Well, now I am extremely stressed, mad and sad! Mostly at the way my Dr. came to me with the results and left me so confused! She basically has put it off on my high risk specialist I have been seeing since I tore my placenta, whom I see again on the 7th. I researched this test and found that since I am in a high risk category anyway because I am 44 years old, diabetic and obese, I read that the results would come back positive regardless and that may baby maybe perfectly healthy. Anyone else do this test? And if not but asked to do so I highly recommend declining!
