I've experienced foot pain off an on with Zumba too. Dance sneakers are a good option to try. Lately I've been wearing Reebok Zigs and they are FANTASTIC!!! I do Zumba almost every day (and teach 2 classes a week as well!). I'm also a pharmacist and am on my feet all day--so foot pain is an important issue for me!! I'm on an eternal quest for comfortable shoes!!!
Try the ZIGS--expensive, but EVERYONE that I know who has tried them, LOVE them!!

My suggestion would be to get some shoes that hug your feet and/or zumba shoes/dance shoes. Also you can try zumba slides. They slide over your normal shoes but create less friction so that you can spin and slide without leaving your foot behind LOL.

Peace, Love, Zumba!

Yes, I think dance shoes are better than cross training or running shoes. Something easier to pivot it. There are some other threads on SP regarding what shoes are best for Zumba, I recommend you look around (sorry I don't have a link offhand). Good luck!!

Sometimes when I'm exercising and my shoes are not wide enough for my feet, my feet will burn. I don't know if maybe that is the same issue for you or not. Otherwise I'm stumped. Sorry I'm not too much help!

Hi!

I'm new to this team and fairly new to Zumba. I have been attending classes with my daughter for about 3 weeks, 3x per week.

Both my daughter and I have foot issues about 15-20 minutes into an hour class. My feet BURN! Across the ball of my foot especially. It feels like they are on fire! Very uncomfortable. I just bought a new pair of shoes so that may not be the issue. I was going to look into different socks next. My husband also suggested putting a lotion or vaseline on my feet???

My daughter is saying her feet also burn, but are also aching. She is complaining that they REALLY hurt. She is going to get a new pair of shoes this weekend. She was wondering if dance shoes would be a better option than running or cross training shoes.

Any suggestions would be very helpful!

Thanks,
Karen
