I began working out & following the Atkins plan at the end of October last year. By January I was down 18lbs & 1 dress size. Then in Febuary I began feeling tired all the time, experienced a lack of drive, was easily irriated, etc... My body was telling me something wasn't right, but I didn't pay attention until I stepped on the scale at the end of April and saw that I had gained 14lbs back. I knew a large weight gain like that in a short time when the only habits I'd changed was working out 1-3hrs a week instead of 8 wasn't normal. Went to the Dr., who ordered blood work. My hormone levels came back low & he diagnosed me with Hypothyrodism. I began medication a month ago, but in the meantime I began having trouble focusing, forgetting things, nervous energy, etc. So to help me with this my Dr. perscribed an extended release adderall pill taken once a day. My productivity at work is back up, and I have energy to spare. The only downside is that I have a hard time falling to & getting enough sleep every night. Since I'm feeling so much better but wary at having a relapse I decided to take baby steps getting back into my fitness regime. I began by attending a 1hr 2x a week Zumba class. The first few sessions were hard, and I had to take alot of breaks. Then last week I added Body Flow (Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates) an 1hr class held right before Zumba. I've found since I began doing yoga and all the deep stretches before Zumba I am stretched enough to do moves full out & correctly that I couldn't before. I'm finally getting my groove back! Love my Zumba!!!
