It was only one organic beet.

I finally got my dh to watch The Game Changers documentary with me last evening. It is about vegan high profile competitive athletes. One guy can lift over 1100 pounds and walk 30 feet. emoticon

I like some of the chick flicks, but don't watch them often. Hallmark is always the same story set in different places with different characters, but many actors are the same.

Book club is going to read a Christmas book for our December meeting and party.

Lovely chest.
Must have been a lot of beets.
Nope, not tired "The Competition" last night and Saturday, I liked The Trouble with Truth.
We do Cauliflower buffalo wings, it can be vegan.
Tonight, potato, chickpea, pea curry. Yum.

It is in my bedroom and holds quilts/blankets.

I am just concentrating on eating my whole food plant based diet. It takes all of my thoughts and plans right now. For Thanksgiving, we will have non-vegan turkey and dressing, all other dishes will be vegan, also no oil, low salt, low sugar. Tried a mushroom brown gravy yesterday and it was delicious! Poured it over baked potatoes and mixed veggies with beet greens on the side. We ate the beets the day before... turned my pee pink, don't remember that happening before, but I don't eat a lot of beets.

The trunk sounds really cool! Post a pic!

I have been binge watching MASH on Hulu. I saw a great 1957 xmas movie staring Betty White. I found it off a xmas channel through Roku. She is such a pretty and vibrant woman, both in the past and now at 97 years old!

Hi, Becca, missed you.

I was off yesterday back at in-laws house. BIL is still there. Dh is shutting off the internet and TV next week. His son is staying there temporarily and said he has applied at 3 places to move him too. Fingers crossed. He can take some of the furniture with him.

We brought home a flat topped wooden trunk and a small fold down desk, both antiques. Plus other small things, which I don't really need. My MIL was a pack rat. I have never seen so many photos in my life!

Suze, sometimes I feel that way. Getting tired of chick flicks?

I read on Facebook how nutritional yeast is bad for uric acid. Guess I won't be using it yet. I just joined a FB group called Well Your World. Great group! The guy who started it has some great YouTube videos.

CPAP was supposed to help. Well, I have sleep apnea anyway. Here is what was different. It lasted only 2 hours and heart went back and forth from 68 (normal) to 125 (high) during those two hours. That has never happened. Then I also had more energy that usual afterwards. So, maybe it will take some time. Still positive!

Sounds like a yummy dinner!

I am making a vegan "cheese" sauce tonight and putting on veggie macaroni, with a big green salad. Will be the first time I have made this sauce.

Hope your dh feels better today. Sometimes it is just one of those days.

Dh is off today for veterans day. He is anxious to be back in the routine of work. He likes what he does, just not some of the people. That is typical, however, in all places of work.

I will find some good vegan recipe today to cook.

Dunno what happened with flicks. I know he's going to want Lifetime/Hallmark. we watched Lost and Found. He was in odd mood and crying over his sister's death.
We need to find a place to worship. It's going to be hard for us to find someplace that will work for both of us.
DH complaining I am too bony and skinny. So, tonight chicken cutlets in cream and sundried tomato sauce. Maybe with spaghetti squash?

I don't have instacart, but have curbside or delivery from my favorite grocer, H-E-B! I love it! I use the curbside.

Good to see you, Becca. Back pain in my case is literally a pain the rear. Today, BP is high. I don't get it. Will try again later.

No AFIB...

Missing friends. Especially since I did not get to go to school reunion.

Missing Dh, too. I hope he will rest on Monday. Says BIL is still in house and our nephew is looking for a place for him. It is just not as easy as it sounds. Nephew has key to house, BIL does not.

I got used to it quickly, but it does look odd. Like I'm going to outer space or something.

Would like an Instapot and a Vitamix. Cannot get either at the moment.

Dh went back to Shiner. I am doing my routine.

How about this for breakfast? Oatmeal soaked overnight with almond milk, microwaved with spinach and dried cherries. Stevia for sweetner. It is good and a good way to get your greens. You can't really taste the spinach, but it was fresh cooked.

Yes, good news, but we don't know what will happen once son goes back to New Mexico and no family live in the town. He is getting worse all the time, physically and mentally.

The last Durrells of Corfu was last night, sorry to see it go. They are moving back to England because of the war and Louisa almost got together with Spiros.

We got two big plants from in-laws house. May not work in our house. Might get rid of the large corn plant and keep the large fig.

BIL's son was able to be on his bank account. That is a good step. They think they have one of two apartments available in the small town of Shiner, one owner was hunting and another was just not answering. Hopefully the kids will drive to check on him. He did not want to move out of the town. (Free will)

We went through the house yesterday with SIL and two of her girls picking what we wanted to keep. I got some milk glass, carnival glass, flatware (nice), a crock pot, a tall vase and some Royal Doulton Country rose dishes (tea pot, cups, tidbit tray). Plus later we will get a large flat top antique trunk and a small fold out antique desk. Dh got a sleep number bed for the guest room, file cabinet for his folks stuff. We still have a U-Haul trailer in front of our house. Someone will come later to help unload. Oh and I got some trade bead necklace and bracelet that she got when she travelled to Alaska. Beautiful!

I had more energy on Friday than ever, but back hurts today and yesterday.

Hope all is well with the unpacking. What is the Sam Waterson chick flick? Don't remember the name, but about the Cabin?

Best wishes with the gluten free. It will work!

Yes, it is cold in Texas (for us)! I guess you could fish, but it would be cold on the water.

It is not in the DNA of my dh to just relax. He really needs to. He and nephew are looking for place for BIL to rent.

I ordered groceries online. Will pick up at noon today. You can't do that in the country/rural areas!

We got through the days before the funeral and is now the day after. I am nostalgic today.

Dh is still there and I came home to take care of the kitties.

Gotta' figure things out now... eating, laundry, etc.

It is cold out today and windy.

Thanks! I am sleeping with my CPAP very well, but I think I may need a different kind of nose mask. Probably the nasal pillow.

MIL passed away Saturday at 10 am on her 85th birthday. FIL passed on Aug 1. I guess she wanted to be with him.
Funeral is Wednesday.

I won't be on the computer much until after.

Hope today is better, Suze.

I woke up with AFIB! emoticon

Maybe it is too soon to tell if the CPAP will work for the AFIB. I can sleep with it. The kitties avoid it.

Dh is home taking care of more business. Tomorrow we are both getting up early and going to move MIL's stuff, pack, etc. Mostly by ourselves. SIL and her husband will be there later on. Then SIL is bringing MIL Monday. We will have to move in on Sunday totally alone and me with bad back. Sigh.

Yes, it is weird. Last night was better. I waited until I was really sleepy and it took about 15 min to fall asleep. I slept through the night. Do I feel rested? Too soon to tell. I did wake up earlier!

Today is dh's birthday. He is down in South Texas. This weekend he is moving his mom. So we will have a big celebration next year when he turns 65 AND retires!

I need to grocery shop today. Walking is on my agenda too.

Oh my! I can relate Suze.

MIL was approved for a week of rehab. I think Humana's first response is to deny everything and then when you appeal, approve it. Glad we don't have Humana.

I had problems getting to sleep with CPAP. Adjusted my head gear several times, felt like I couldn't breathe. Got up and down several times. Read magazines. Finally got to sleep after 1 pm and slept.

Fridge was not fixed, will have to come back.

I get CPAP today.

MIL's insurance denied her rehab. SIL is appealing it, but we might have to move her here this week to the assisted living. Dh was hoping for a few days in rehab. SIL has flu and I have a bad back, so I cannot help much. Also his and his mom's birthdays are this week. May have to celebrate later.

The tornadoes were in the Dallas area, 3 hours from us. We did have some rain and wind, though. I was concerned about my Dallas friends. There was damage.

I watched the Durrells in Corfu on Masterpiece. It was funny last night. Then the Dallas Cowboys who won!

Today we have appliance repairman and then we will go to the assisted living for dh to tour. His mom may not have much longer.

Well I did the sleep study at the sleep center last night. I was hooked up to all sorts of wires and they put gunk in my hair to hold the probes. I wore a CPAP, too. Guess what? I slept. Looks like a CPAP will do me some good. I will get the prescription for one in 7 to 10 days, they told me.

Well the never ending MIL saga continues. Yesterday she checked herself out of the nursing home. Last night at 3:15 am, she was in an ambulance on the way to the hospital in Victoria, 55 miles from where she lives in the country. Dh was planning on going there today to sort out financial records and talk to doctor... that won't happen now. He will visit hospital. Evidently she had a mild heart attack. All I know is that she is driving us all crazy, heart attack or not. Maybe she wants to die?

I have sleep apnea. I have to do another test for CPAP. When all is said and done, this should help me feel better. I have resisted for years now. The AFIB did it.

Nice to receive those kind of notes, Suze!

I have a cousin who writes long letters by hand to me. I enjoy receiving them.

I toured 2 nursing homes and one assisted living yesterday. My SIL acts like my MIL does not have long in this world. So I was exhausted. THEN my MIL calls last night and states she is getting better, still wants to go to the place where she put down the deposit even if it is after January and that she plans to go home and get home health care when they release her from rehab. Total opposite of SIL. Did I do all that touring for nothing? I found a Type B assisted living that would be nice and the price was right. Type B is in between nursing home and type A assisted living. We will see what the next few weeks bring. One nursing home looked beautiful online, was beautiful in person and is for millionaires! Not really, but the cost was $8,000 more or less a month. Over budget definitely.

Today we have a refrigerator repairman coming and someone to inspect the roof for our homeowners insurance. I am tired.

I only talk to my HS friends on Facebook. I really feel kind of relieved. Working on health. Maybe I will hear from the sleep study place soon.

LOL that your dh likes the chick flicks and you could care less. My dh refuses to watch them.

Football was a bust again yesterday. He is now mad at the Dallas Cowboys.

MIL called and does better when she has oxygen. She realizes that she cannot move back home. She had a lady who used to be a care taker make chicken soup for her. Where she is now the food is horrible! FIL died in that place. I am going today with a friend to look at a nursing home near us. None of them are good, but here near us would be better where we can check on her.

It's disappointing about the reunion but understandable. Add MIL in and it's too much of a chance. I understand the alums from my h.s. in this area get together for dinner. Not sure I want to see anyone. I have had great conversations this week with a guy I grew up with. He's handling my Medicare but we have spoken of all kinds of things. We even talked his brother's death from addiction. We were NOT friends in elementary or high school. Since we are grown, we really speak. HS boyfriend called 2 weeks ago but we always connect.
DH figured out how to set up Roku.
Last night's chick flick? Under the Eiffel Tower. More from the guy's side. DH LOVED it. It was alright.

Well, I have about decided not to go to the reunion. The reason? I have had AFIB three times in a week! Yesterday was one of them. If I have AFIB while we are there, I won't be able to attend. I was waffling anyway about going. Then there is my MIL who is going downhill fast.

Hopefully I will hear from the sleep study sooner than later.

I am working on my health issues one at a time. The heart would be the most important.

Staying home today because I am really tired from the AFIB. Good news is that I have no heart damage.

Moving is a chore Suze. Glad you are settling in.

Yep, the old expensive hair stylist was better. This hair is too short.

My house could use it too, but I have back pain much of the time.

Not sure I like my haircut from the new stylist yesterday. Maybe the $25 EXTRA for my old stylist is worth the money. Maybe it will just take some getting used to. Dh said I looked fine. Men don't get it, but I don't have any friends who would be totally honest either.

Ana, I hope you are getting better.

Suze, it will take some getting used to.

Becca, hope you enjoy your family and that it is all good times.

Taking my device back this morning for sleep study.

Becca I was just thinking that my house really needs a good spring cleaning but since I can't do much still it will have to wait. Would love to hire someone but can't afford it.

Suze I must have missed it (or just read it while still on drugs) but you moved quite a ways from New York right? Moving is physically and emotionally draining. I hope less stress than where you were before.

Still doing physical therapy twice a day. Draining. I keep losing track of what day it is. Off the pain meds now but not sleeping.

Linda you'll look beautiful for your reunion. I've never gone to any of mine.

Have a great day everyone.

We have almost finished figuring out what needs to go in storage,
Two of my besties called me today. They are like sisters to me.They are at one's camp. Cried, I miss them

That open house sounded delightful, Linda!

Today, I spring cleaned the front room where the family will gather next week! Whew! I even moved furniture and dusted the floor boards. It feels a lot lighter in here. My bedroom got an energy clearing. I am learning how to smudge with the help of my Reiki masseuse. It feels so much lighter! I did a little clearing in the front room with incense and a white candle. I will burn the cedar in there tomorrow.

It makes me feel better, and it gets cleaned! A win win!

That does not sound good, Suze. You cannot do anything when they refuse help. We learned that with BIL.

Best wishes on the family visit, Becca!

We went spur of the moment to an open house last evening. It is our financial planner and it gets bigger every year. It was under a 500 year old live oak with beautiful plantings everywhere at their business and the weather was perfect, so pleasant. Dh went for the barbecue since we don't have meat often at home. We talked with some others about Austin in the old days and the Armadillo World Headquarters. They were playing classic rock and Santana came on, I started out with a discussion on Santana. A young man next to me said he was so jealous that I have seen all the old bands and said his mother had too. I deemed him an "old soul."

emoticon Suze.

Hope u have a good time when u go to the reunion, Linda!

Family issues are draining.

Had a good chat with my therapist today!

Also, did some housekeeping and grocery delivery. I want things to be nice for when the family comes.

I love online grocery shopping. It makes things easier.

You will look lovely.
Fingers crossed on MIL.
Had police here last night and EMS twice! DH sober but out of it. First EMS thought TIA caused by detox. They had stretcher and he refused. 3.5 hours later, I had to call again. He was groaning in pain, staggering, slumping and drooling. Less of an exam, same refusal.
Very high bp. OK today. Swears he won't drink. ha!

It is a dress up type of event. I will be comfortable as possible.

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Glad you are feeling like home, Suze. Sorry about dh.

This is a big one and probably the last one. 50 year reunion. 200 are attending out of a class of 900. Mostly the popular "kids."

We have Aldi, but I have never been. I love H-E-B too much! I use their curbside, never tried delivery. Getting used to the conveniences of ordering online, like DoorDash, too.

SIL thinks MIL will change her mind. Dh does not think so. We shall see.

Dh got his mom to agree to doing a new will and already has the lawyer working on it. No grass grows under the feet of my DH!!! The house is for sale right now, as well. He got all that taken care of while there this week. MIL got home health care herself and even though she is in the hospital, the new lady came by to visit with her. MIL actually told her that the others left because of BIL. Told BIL he MUST find a place to live. BIL is going downhill, as well.

Skipping church again. Need to rest from all the drama.

Still don't know what to wear at class reunion. I will get it figured out. There are two events I am attending. They have even more planned, but that is what I am doing.

Sleep study this week and new hair stylist.

Yes, it has a handle.
Good luck with will. My parents left me in charge as my brother has no sense. Sad.All kinds of nonsense around Gran's.

Dh is hoping to get MIL to re-do her will. If she passes and BIL decides not to sign at probate, the house in the country might not be sold and then everyone is screwed. Families! Sheesh. My brother and I did not have that problem, I trusted him completely and everything was so easy when my mother passed.

Does it have a handle, Suze?

I decided to quit paying so much for hair and am trying a new stylist next week. My doctor's RN had a really cute "do" and I asked her about it. She gave me the info. Turns out the new one also specializes in thin hair. I cut my own last week in a bob. It is not straight in the back, of course, but close. I think I like the new look.

I found a cute top, kind of a duster jacket, no buttons, at Dress Barn for $20 yesterday! It will be good with many things I already have. Sad they will be closed at the end of the year. Bed Bath and Beyond is also closing. Must be Amazon and Overstock shopping taking over.
