Ah, but Pattie, those are mystery meats you are eating....probably not much actual meat at all.

I scrambled eggs and wrapped them in Romaine leafs for breakfast. Tossed dinner salad with chicken for lunch, and whole grain spaghetti with tuscan sauce for supper. Yum Probably either another salad or corn on the cob to go with.

I was bad last night... the organic pizza place has these organic gluten free brownies and they are to die for! They melt in your mouth. ... I had a salad first, lol.
Love the bread at Italian restaurants, the kind you tear off and dip in olive oil... the best! Oh woe is me... I am soon going to a nutritionist.

Suze, hopefully you can get stronger with all the stuff you are doing.

My Achilles sprain is slooowly getting better, but yesterday's walking with the kids is causing a bit of pain today. I have toughed it out for all these months, so I can tough it out some more.

Haircut today.

Ha. I just bought a tin of Vienna sausage, my mother used to make them on weekends with scrambled eggs and thought we might do something like that father's day. Yes, we worry about me falling. I wear the brace to work and now I use cane too in Penn. Physical therapy tomorrow, followed by color at a new salon, yoga on Sat morning. Last week I really liked my aqua aerobics. No Zumba for a week, the church space is being used. My cousin sent me the article on my grandfather's death (in 1927). It was like my gran told me except for the fact that she always claimed it wasn't an accident but deliberate by United fruit company. And the 2nd picture of my grandfather I've ever seen! It balanced the day

Pattie, our tastes in food don't jive at all, but I still love you. I don't eat salami or Vienna sausage, and don't like pumpernickel bread. My bread is the 15 grain whole grain. Love rolls and all that kind of stuff! Big downfall for me. I had rather eat bread than sweets and sweets is a problem for me too! You who don't like bread are very lucky indeed!!!

A friend of mine is going through the injections, but does not want surgery. She is the one who wants to go to water aerobics.

Suze, a walker on wheels might be a good thing for you. They fold for when you are on the train or bus.

Linda...two of my Dr.s would like me to have surgery on my lower back. After my MRI, I told that Dr. that I did not want surgery (tooo many risks & no guarantees ). His nurse said, " When your pain becomes unbearable, you'll be back "!! I am not at that point yet *whew* :-)
I also refuse a Steroid Injection in my back. I have learned from repeated Steroid Paks that "Nobody likes me on Steroids" !! Hahaha
I like bread but I can't say I love eating bread. I bought a loaf of dark rye (it's in the freezer) about 3 wks ago and still haven't eaten any. My favorite bread is pumpernickel/rye swirl. It's awesome with dry Italian salami, Havarti Dill, lettuce & Best Foods Mayo. :-)
Because there are ppl at my work who do not have a problem stealing other ppls food from the break room fridge, I quit bringing a lunch to work that requires refrigeration.
So (don't laugh or cringe ).... I eat a can of Vienna Sausages and (believe it or not) drink a bottle of Lemon Propel water for lunch. Yeah....water. *yuck*. Lol

Suze....would using a Walker keep you from falling? Every time you tell us you fall I automatically think, " she's gonna break something one day ". :-(
I hope & pray that never happens....

Suze, I worry about your falling.

Yes, too many doctors. They see me pretty much all within a few weeks every 6 months or so. Lab reports with last doctor were not so good but with the one I saw yesterday, it was all good and better on the kidneys! I am going to add a nutritionist to help me figure out all this carb/protein stuff on a vegetarian diet. I think I am eating too many carbs since I am vegetarian. It can be done!

Then next on my agenda is swimsuit and water aerobics class. A friend from church wanted to join one, so that will make it easier to go for me.

Today I will meet two grandnephews for the first time and see my niece for the first time in 10 or 12 years. We live far apart, she is in Lawrence Kansas.

Pattie, no, I haven't had an MRI. What did they do about the bulging discs, Pattie? The pain comes and goes, today it is not there. The ankle is still healing, but it has been very slow.

I wish I did not like bread, but I do! I have not been eating as much. I did have a sandwich yesterday on sourdough bread. DH and I are sandwich eaters, lol. I love tuna and egg salad sandwiches from the deli. I don't eat processed lunch meats. Dh eats much more bread than I do, but I like it... especially the kind in Italian restaurants!

Suze, your cousin is on SparkPeople? BTW, we are the "poor people" in our family too.

Today I see my endocrinologist. I need an eye appt. also, drivers license is due on birthday in November and I don't want to take any chances. So I need to make eye appt. sometime soon. It will be here before I know it.

Linda, my husband buys Natures Own Sugar Free bread and says he likes it. I'm not a big bread eater. When I buy bread [for me] I have to divvy up the loaf into freezer baggies and pull one out at a time when I feel the desire for a sandwich. Otherwise, my loaf of bread will end up rotting and I will end up throwing most of it away.
Have you ever had an MRI done on your back or ankle ? That's how the Dr. found my 3 bulged discs in my lower back.

In a coincidence, cousin's son posted pix on FB today. well he doesn't look my twin anymore. He looks OLD and he's only a year or two older than me. And no not a hard life, I am the poor one in the family :)
So my stunt for today was to have DH walk me in to Zumba but this time he walked me further and I fell on the bump in the floor which I have successfully avoided. I was doing well today too. and no one there has seen me fall. Lots of oohing and ahing. He was embarrassed. Did well at Zumba!

Oh I have my dad's family's apron stomach! Got an email from my eldest cousin in Kingston today, Very excited. People used to think we were twins through our teens. I started something in their family when I sent them a scrapbook with our gran's pictures and their pictures as children. Now they are trying to find out more about our grandfather who was old enough to be her father. My mum's half sister was older than my gran! So it is going to be ancient history :)

I thought for sure California Chrome was going to win too. We didn't actually bet but I have finally convinced DH that we can go to Belmont Park - it's less than an hour away from us. I used to go from when I was young and haven't been in over 20 years (last husband) Went to aqua fit this morning and did much better! DH outside planting and I am inside loading documents for work, tedious but hey, And the bath suit I bought yesterday does not make me look fat, fiftyish and matronly YEAH!

Corn is my favorite... usually no sodium too, or low in sodium.

No win for me today and no Triple Crown winner either. I think they need to have only the same horses in each leg of the triple crown. Now they let anyone enter whether they have been in the other two races or not.

Sounds like a nice day, Suze!

We are watching Belmont. I put my winnings from last race on California Chrome to win. It is small potatoes, and he is the favorite, so I won't win much. If he does not win, I lose it all. Probably will never do this again... too many fees.

almost never have scrambled eggs with bread. I will put it all in a tortilla - still flour. Maybe you could do corn? Hash browns sometimes.
Drove out East today and it was gorgeous! Got copper molds for decoration in the kitchen, bought some plants at a favorite nursery then stopped at the Lee outlet and got a new bathing suit for our vacation and yes, exercise clothes.
Hope every one is having a great weekend

I don't usually have scrambled eggs, an omlet can be filling all by itself, without a need for bread. I had tuna salad in a romaine wrap for lunch today, and I know I should, no breakfast. I will look through my old books, but I remember I used to make breakfast 'muffins' with whisked egg, a tiny bit of cheese, onion, bell pepper, or what ever you want to add. Bake for around 0 to 30 minutes. I would make these on Sunday and take one to work everyday for brunch.

I have a husband who sabatoges me, but I should not let him. SO, I claim responsibility, as well.
I am starting the lettuce wrap today. I had one slice of bread for breakfast this morning with my scrambled eggs. It was whole grain, but still bread. So what do you eat with scrambled eggs? I am just so used to having some form of bread with eggs.
Suze, hope that getting that brace off helps you.
I am supposed to make appt. with physical therapist for ankle and lower back.

I have cut back, way back on things with wheat and flour. I lost a pound since Wed. I think it is working. Need to shop before I get away from it totally though.
I really like my sandwiches in lettuce, got this from South Beach years ago and I have kept it around like the mashed 'potato' cauliflower.

Hi worked all day 6:30 - 3:30 and then physical therapy. Very interesting - she had me walk on the stairs. We are going to redo my muscle memory so I can do them again! And she had me walking with the cane and without the spectral leg (brace) She says what I have been thinking that wearing it actually makes my leg weaker.
SS came over tonight with new case for phone and a tutorial. I usually depend on his older brother so he is quite puffed up! I still have to work this weekend but we are going out East tomorrow, maybe a little thrifting and for me a wine at one of the wineries. work will wait and I'll do aquafit on Sunday morning instead.
Sheryl, I do the lettuce thing. I just introduced DH to Arnold whole wheat thins and he has given up his white bread!
Have a great weekend!

Well, I like bread. I have been picking out only the whole grain bread, but doc said to limit it all! I like potatoes too. I have been baking a potato and topping it with beans and salsa, they are full of starch, which turns to sugar.

Suze, I am addicted to sugar too. So it is a triple whammy for me.

I blogged about it today.

I did make a smoothie for lunch yesterday, but was still hungry... It will take me some time to get used to these changes.

Sheryl, I have tried the lettuce thing, but feel deprived of my bread. I guess I will try again.

Suze, good luck with the phone!

Have a great day everyone!

I am not a fan of potatoes either unless they are sweet potatoes. Whites are full of sugar.
Bread, processed... I like to make a 'sandwich' using either bib lettuce or romain. I flatten the spines and use the leaf as bread, add your ingredients then roll up. Don't miss bread at all.

Smoothie sounds good. My confession I don't like bread and potatoes - if I buy them they tend to rot! My downfall - sweets!
busy as usual at work. GF having issue at work so was on phone with her and didn't really spark. I am in IT so there are very few of us. And I am tough so it's a bit easier for me plus I was one of the first girls at an all boys school so I just do it.

Am I chatting with myself? Where are our chatters?

Found out I have lost an inch in height yesterday, so ... bummer!

Doctor told me to limit bread and potatoes and replace one meal with a Nutribullet smoothie of fruit and veg. Sounds like a good plan to me!

Going to have to go to physical therapist for ankle and lower back. Probably a good thing.

I am still checking it out with insurance. Maybe the doctor can just do an EKG in his office, not as good, but I am not paying over $700 for this!

Purchased shoes yesterday, ... shopping makes me feel better.

Dr. physical today. Hope to find out about ankle. It is better, but still some pain.

I am not getting the echogram today. The place called yesterday and wanted me to pay $792! I have never had to pay the out of pocket costs for preventative service. I cancelled and we are checking my insurance. The doctor is not going to like it...

I cannot exercise much due to ankle especially since my favorite is walking. I don't really like the chair exercise but I know many on Spark have been successful this way.

I think that I will just have to go like I am to the reunion. I saw a selfie of one of my classmates and I was astonished with the hanging skin and wrinkles! I don't have that. We are all around 62 and 63 years old, so I am sure I will not be the only overweight woman. It is at the end of June.
Oh and thank you for the compliment. Dh occasionally tells me the same thing and people at church.

Good luck with echo. Like I said on the team wall, fiber and exercise. I did aqua aerobics last time and it rocked. Also reunions are funny. Trust me you are going to look much, much better than the guys you went to school with. And unless you were a cheerleader or majorette, you are definitely going to look better than them. And most important you are already truly beautiful

well, cannot afford Ideal Protein diet at this point in time. Also going to high school reunion on June 28... doubtful I can lose weight before then. BUT going back to this month's challenge, I am going anyway and looking the best I can!

Echogram tomorrow and Dr. visit on Wednesday.

You ARE his Mom, Suze! That is great he called you that, better than step-mother.

Best of luck with cane. I know it is a tough pill to swallow.

I am getting ankle checked out Wednesday, it has been 2 months or longer and still pain.

Well, PT wants me to come twice a week. not possible. They are going to show me how to use my cane. very upsetting but I am dealing. However, somewhat confident that I will be able to do stairs again. I did Aqua fit again this morning and it went better than before. DH did tons of planting. And we went out and got more. Iphone is turned on. SS came over to help and called phone company and said I am helping my mother. DH and I nearly fell off chairs - I am stepmom! Anyway, I'll be able to take and post pix of garden, etc.

Allie, dye is so good. It makes a difference, younger for sure. Linda, I always wait for the last minute on ebay. And yes, sometimes "paying" for it sometimes sets you on the right path. Please keep us posted on the program.
I went to a jewelry class last night at the library. It was a chain necklace with rhinestones. It was awful - one instructor and 15 people, embroidery floss. She started off saying make a double knot but didn't say make it on the chain! Went downhill from there.
Going for physical therapy eval this afternoon.

I have been trying different things by myself and sticking to it... no significant weight loss, a pound here and there. The Ideal Protein analyzes your health conditions and the coach helps you figure out what works with their products and the one meal you make yourself. I have glandular and hormonal imbalances, plus other things keeping me from achieving weight loss success. This may be the thing that works. I need to lose 60 pounds, would be very happy with 50. Waiting right now for the go ahead with finances...

Today is a free day for me, so happy. Another ebay item has a bid, I hope they go way up before Sunday ending!!!! Then maybe I can pay for this coaching.

You may be able to get a little info on line about how to make that balance. It will have to be a self coaching situation though.

Hi, Allie! Glad you are back with us! That is great news.

I checked out the Ideal Protein Diet yesterday. It is a medically supervised diet. the coach is on the payroll at my cardiologist's office. High protein, but not necessarily meat protein. They have a vegetarian option and the "coach" is a vegetarian! It will be rough the first two weeks. Plus they teach you how to start eating again the correct way once you lose your weight. I can live without sugar and simple carbs, except for fruit. I love fruit and eat it daily! Otherwise, it seems... well, Ideal! I might have to wait because there is an initial expense and we are spread thin at the moment. I am considering this because I am not doing well on my own and a coach might be what I need, plus learning the correct ratio of carb to protein. I eat healthy, but maybe not for all my "conditions"!

Having high hopes for my ebay sales, but only two out of 12 have bids... there are watchers, so maybe they will jump in on Sunday when the listings end.

Hello everyone,

I joined this team some time ago and have not been very active.

I was thinking about having my hair dyed and I finally did it. I had let it turn gray and I was sick of it. I love it now and the hairdresser gave me a good price, so it is something I feel I can afford. to keep up.

I saw someone the other day and they kept asking me what I did differently. I had not seen them for at least a year.I told them I had lost 20 pounds since January and I dyed my hair. They said I looked great and I feel great.

I could not have done it without the encouragement of everyone on SP.

It has been rainy here too. I think it will start clearing up a little bit tomorrow.

I hope everyone has a good evening. Allie emoticon

I have heard this, also coconut oil. Nature provides what we need, not chemists!

Today is happier. I am going to a meeting to learn about the Ideal Protein diet. We will see.

More technicians will be in our house again on Saturday. The alarm system is not communicating since we got Gigapower. Sigh. At least we don't have to pay for it.
