Welcome Borobabe to the Team. Thank you to your soldier for his service.

We are home from St. Louis. Sis should be out of ICU this weekend. She is doing amazingly well and for that we are extremely grateful. The Neurosurgeon said her bleed was small and she will probably not have many deficits. PTL for this.

Welcome HomeOne KidsMom's Son and best wishes to Barb's son as he returns to his base.
I will check later for pictures...

Take care and know I am so very grateful for this team.

Hugs, Sunny

Barb that's interesting the NG is going to AFG for agriculture. And I'll tell you again I'm so excited your son is home! Yippeee!!!!

And we grow again, welcome aboard Borobabe! You are in the right spot, and we are I'm sure are shaking our heads yes to crying, we know it is more than likely will happen but when the words actually come we aren't prepared as we thought. Thank your friend for sending you our way, we look forward to helping you through this.

I see you're a Georgia peach, hope you aren't in the path of those storms. (Used to live in Augusta)

Hi Everyone! I just joined this team. My son is in the Army and stationed in Texas. He called me yesterday to tell me that he will be deployed in July. He is going to Afghanistan. It will be his first deployment. I must admit that I cried my eyes out last night and felt like I was in a fog this morning. A wonderful friend of mine sent me a message of encouragement that led me to this team. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Oh, Barb! What a circle... one son comes home, someone else's leaves. I heard on the news that our National Guard guys will be heading out to AFG to help educate the folks there in agriculture. Apropos considering our biggest economic contributor is agriculture, many of our guardsmen and women really do know that stuff. BUT... I'll be praying for them, too... for stability around them while they do something constructive and humanitarian!

emoticon and prayers all around.

Bittersweet day. This is John's last day home. We take him to the airport tomorrow morning for a 7:30 am flight to O'Hare (Chicago), then onto Seattle. From Seattle onto Fairbanks, Alaska. **SIGH** Time has gone by so fast. But lots of wonderful memories. Have to get all the hugs in I can cuz they're gonna have to last awhile!

HUGS and have a great day everyone.

Just popping in to say hi and hope everyone is safe. What a coyote ugly day . . . snow, changed to freezing rain/freezing drizzle, a layer of ice and now . . . rain. Ok, the rain is handleable, but the ice is making it impossible to get around! And I cannot believe tomorrow is supposed to get up to 54 with thunderstoms! YIKES! At least the ice will be gone!

Barb -- hugs and all good thoughts for you during this tough week.

Seconding what the rest have said. You are at the beginning of this journey, I'm nearing the end of it... seven years ago... oh, my gosh, it really has been that long... when my son asked me to come look over what he was planning to sign at the recruiting station... well, it set me back a bit, but I was a good supportive mom and let him grow up into the man he has become.

You'll have a ton of emotions as a military mom... you're already feeling some of them, but you, without signing a doggoned thing, have signed on to support YOUR service member!

May you be blessed and comforted to be in such good company!

Welcome, and thank you for your service, and thank to him for his.

Adding my welcome AND my thanks to you and your family as well. It is amazing how perspective changes when we're the PARENT watching our children go through the process. Even when you're familiar with it . . . it's still difficult!

Well, wishing your son all the best of luck. HUGS and come back often! We're a friendly, chatty (sometimes) group!

Hello all,

My name is Karen and I was an Air Force Brat (Dad was retired USAF), was a Navy Reservist during Desert Storm, and now I have a son who is waiting for his Security Clearance to come back with his "Go In" date for the US Navy. I know what it must have been like for my parents, now, when my two oldest brothers, two oldest nephews and I went into the service. My son hasn't even left his job yet and I am already worried about where he will go, will he be active during conflict, etc.

Thank you for the invite! Best wishes to all of you and your families.

emoticon I'm proud to be an American!
